Well our give a day - get a day that turned into an annual pass for our family and multiple trips is coming to an end. We are fitting in one last trip before our passes expire.

It's a bit more crowded than we expected as it's a three day weekend and I think some local districts might be out of school this next week. But we are havinga great time. The weather is beautiful and we have been enough times this year we aren't doing our usual routine, but instead taking it easy.

We spent a few days visiting with family and after a farewell dinner late friday night we checked in at The Grand. With annual pass discounts we are paying just over $200 per night. Great deal!

The little one was too excited to go to bed, so even though it was past bedtime we took the Monorail (had the back all to ourselves) into Disneyland just in time to see Fantastic. (and finally got to see a working dragon!) Then over to Pirates, Jungle Cruise, Shopped Main Street and had to get into bed as it was almost midnight!

I haven't been feeling well, so the boys left me to sleep Saturday morning and went to – Magic Morning 8am. They said it was crowded and it took them awhile to gget through bag check and into the gates.

Space Mountain (dissapointed the fast pass not working so no FP for late rin the day), Buzz X2

Rope Drop to Adventureland 9am

Indiana Jones (get passes), Big Thunder x 2, Pirates x 2

Get Disney Visa Rewards at City Hall… Meet Mommy back at The Grand 11am

Blue Bayou 11:30

Haunted Mansion
Pirate Island (do they call this tom sawyer still?) DS really loves to play over there. if only the sold refreshments over there! I could have used a nice coool drink by then!)

Indian Jones walk on with FP
Jungle Cruise (first time I have had a wait for his in forever.. and we knew it was going to be a busy afternoon!)

DS was itching to shop for his Coon Skin Cap (he just read a book about Davy Crocket as part of some American Folktales he was researching for school) and play at the Shooting Gallery

We decided to check out the Golden Horseshoe Saloon since we have never been in there. The food options were terrible. The advertisement should have tipped us off, as chicken "nuggets" were listed as the special. Good think we weren't planning to actually eat there. The boys got some ice cream. The show was was fun, but only because the second half they spend making fun of a girl on the front row for using her cell phone. I don't think i would go in there again unless I really wanted out of the sun or something...

My dream pictures is a family photo from the back of the castle... so we spent time working on this. We did pretty good, but I want to go back with a photopass person (more in another thread).

Then we walked through Sleeping Beauty’s Castle.. this was one of my favorites as a kid. And perfect timing because an attendant came over an unlocked the Castle Haroldry right as we wer exiting the castle! We wandered around in FL, but didn't do any rides. Like I said, we just aren't doing our normal things this trip...

Over to use our FP at Thunder Mountain and then oure second FP for Indiana Jones and by then we realized because there was no parade we might have a hard time getting a table for dinner. It isn't as crowded as Christmas, but there really is a lot of people in the parks this weekend.

Dinner at Plaza Inn 7:45
Remember Dreams Come True Fireworks 8:45 (these are the best and we are so glad they do them over and over again!) We thought about getting into the Matterhorn line, but DS wasn't feeling well and we ended up just going to wait for the new...

Small World Magic The Memories and You at 9:30
DH really wanted to see this. They are supposed to use daily photo pass pictures ... The lights and music were fun, we didn't think the picture part was that great, they were small, went by fast and any video wasn't new, but stuff submitted when they created the show... so kind of a bust if that was the whole point (to see your photos).

By this time DS was getting cold nad tired, I mean he had been at the park for over 14 hours... so we took the Monorail (back car alone again) to Lego store and back to THE GRAND – Beignets for a late night snack.

And here I am playing with some new Bare Minerals sets and should go to bed! If you haven't tried this make-up I've been wearing it for 13 years and LOVE IT! Downtown Disney's Sephora has a great selection and it's always fun to get something new there.

TOmorrow we are going DCA. We are planning to get over to Toy Story Mania first thing to avoid any lines! I hear DL is supposed to be even busier tomorrow.

OK< I am really feeling under the weather. And because I want to return hom refreshed I decided to sleep in again and just take it easy and let this feel like vacation. But my boys are always up early and planned to get in a few rounds of TSM...

9:30 am DCA WOC early line up, first in line at Paradise Pier rope for TSM
10:00 walked over to TSM, but still waited over 20 minutes because the Grizzly Rapid Rope had dropped first and the crowd was already lining up for Toy Story Mania. By 10:30 the wait was already at 45 minutes.

TSM LESSON OF THE DAY - just forget TSM. YOu can't count on rope drop getting you less of a wait anyway. By the time they got on the ride, if you count the first rope wait they waited nearly 50 minutes to ride. Our advice. Use the time more wisely and do whatever else you can in the park. Then at 11 or 12 get a drink and just plan to wait 45 minutes for TSM.

Screamin’ (Pick up Screamin’ FP for later - DH said they could have gone a few times with no wait, but this ride makes him a little sick these dayss - gues we are getting old!)

Pixar Pals Parade

Meet Mommy at The Grand

12pm Disney Visa Card Holders Photo OP with PLUTO

Pick up Tower of Terror Fast Passes

Corn Dogs for lunch because there isn’t much choice in that area.

Animation Academy x2 (Minnie and Grumpy, DS is almost 10 and could do this all afternoon)

(Pick up Soarin FastPass)

Monsters Inc. (lined up all the way outside… longest wait ever… we realized it was going to be a pretty crowded day. But we knew we would be able to do all the things we wanted and because I didn't feel good, we just wandered around and didn't let it bother us.)

Muppets 3-D

Tower of Terror with FP

Tuck and Roll Bug Bumper Cars

Meet and Greet: California Mickey

Bug’s Life 3-D

Photo Op - Woody

Screamin’ with FP

Grizzly Play Place

Soarin’ Over California with FP

Pick up Disney Photo Picture (Although they let us pick anything for our free Visa Photo ½ the pictures from the last two days where blurry. Very disappointed. I had been relying on the photo pass and had stopped getting out my own camera. so i guess the lesson learned is use your own camera every time even though it's annoying!)

6:45 Dinner at Story Tellers. We planned to go over to Disneyland for the rest of the evening. But everyone was tired and so I let the little one go on

Grizzly River Rapids x2 and the little one was in bed by 9pm

Although it is crowded and the whole TSM thing is just a joke you can basically do it all pretty easily. We would have had plenty of time for WOC or park hoping to DL for whatever we wanted over there. But because we saw WOC a few times last trip no one seemed to care about it, and we are really letting DS take the lead this trip.

We have a couple more days. Because it's raining and dreary at home we are enjoying the sunshine. And although I think we all have a cold it really is hitting me the most. At least the little guy is feeling good and having a great time.

DAY 3
Wow, vacation nightmare... I will spare you the details!

The next morning we realized he was pretty sick, it had been a long night. At that point I was worried we were all about to come down with whatever we had and we started considering out options. DH checked into flights home. I knew that would be a miserable day and really opted to just stay where we were. In the end DH and I didn't get whatever he had - Thank goodness!

THe little guy was soooo sad about missing out on DIsney. I knew we had to leave the room to let them deep clean anyway. So about noon I gave him some toast and gatorade, he kept it down and we made out way to the seating area on our floor, then the lobby... then down to the White Water Rapids Snack Bar to get DH and I something to eat. DS had some pretzels and apple slices.

And I have to be honest. I am a big "if your sick, stay home" person and hate when parents send kids to school, church, parties, etc. sick! But what do you do? DS was just sooo miserable, not only because he still didn't feel all that great, but because he was so sad about missing his last couple disney days... So I decided to just take him over and let him soak in the atmosphere... So we took the Monorail to Tomorrowland... And eventually take him on a few easy rides like...

Buzz Lightyear,Pirates, Jungle Cruise, Haunted House

And after tons of begging let him go on Indiana Jones

then took him back to The Grand Californian for Storytime at the big fireplace at 7:30. Then we settled DS in with a movie so DH and I could have some dinner.

We still managed to have a nice afternoon/evening.

Day 4 Tuesday we slept in and took things slow. We had breakfast in the room and fed the little guy a bananna and toast and he was much more perky and ready to play... I stalled a little and needed to pack us up anyway as our flight home would leave that evening at 7pm. We checked out luggage with the bell services and by noon were ready to go. I hoped it would be a slow day at the park like we are used to this time of year and I was right. This would have been a great day and we would have started at rope drop if DS would not have been sick. But we still had a pleasant day.

Monorail to tomorrowland
Matterhorn
Storybook Boats
Teacups - YES DS BEGGED! I figured what the heck.. he was fine. But we took funny sick pictures.
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
Peterpan
Snow white
Pinocchio
DH wanted to try the Village Haus for lunch... it was ok.
Thunder Mountain
Pirate x 2
Haunted House
Jungle Cruise
Indiana with Fast Passes, whcih they didn't even take from us because the line was so short. We would have had time to go on Indy again AND go on Space Mountain with FP we grabbed on our way in... but we were getting anxious to get out of the park so we could get to the airport before rush house. So we dropped a pocket full of fast passes on another family of 3 before we left the park.

DS request to ride with the the driver and we took the Monorail back to The Grand about 4:30

On our way out of the park WE STARTED A NEW TRADITION

DON'T FORGET TO HAVE YOUR HAND STAMPED SO YOU LEAVE WITH THE FEELING THAT YOUR COMING BACK!

And it looks like our next visit will be sooner than we thought!
