Why can't we go to DL for EVERY vacation?

I know someone on this awesome board will know this:

Every member of my family volunteered and has a 1 day free pass. Will they let us make a package reservation (room, tickets, dining) and subtract the cost of those one day passes? Or will they make us use one of the other options? (Fast pass, etc.) I really hope it will be a discount!

Thanks.

If you make the package reservation with a one day ticket and then upgrade once you get there maybe you - at least I hope so because that's what I want to do.

The GDGD are only good if you do a room-only reservation. You can upgrade this ticket for a multi day, and you get the $70+ credit.

However, if you book a package with say 5 day tickets, using the GDGD ticket would be the same as adding a 6th day to the package, ie about $5.

Best option if you are booking a package (if you want dining for example) is to book the package with a 1 day base ticket, and request a paper ticket when you get there. You can keep this ticket for ever (won't expire as long as it's not used). Then you use the GDGD ticket and add additional days to it.

Just another bit of info..you cannot use the GAD tickets to book a package that includes the dining plan. :)

Thank you for your help. I forgot about the ability to get a 1 day pass with a package deal. It seems silly that they wouldn't just apply the passes you earned volunteering to your package, but oh well.

Are you saying that if I wait to purchase my multi-day ticket at disney, I can get credit for my GDGD vouchers.

The GDGD tickets expire this year. Regular tickets never expire.

They're saying if you book a package which requires purchasing park tickets, just get one-day tickets and don't use them. Instead, save those and upgrade the GDGD tickets for however long you want.

It won't save you any money--it's just a way of converting the GDGD tickets into tickets that never expire.

Okay, can you help me answer this . . . I booked 9 nights at Pop Century. I was planning on upgrading my GAD vouchers to annual passes once we got there. I was able to get the passholder discounts and quick service dining. Will they let me upgrade the GAD vouchers to passes.

Yes. But annual pass upgrades must be done at the parks. The resorts do not handle AP ticket transactions.
