THURSDAY 18TH OCTOBER DISCOVERY COVE
GirlsonTour Trip Report 11th October 2007 25th October 2007
Coronado Springs Resort and Hard Rock Hotel
Andrea chief planner, chief of money (for this holiday) and generally chief of everything.
Andy chief provider of money and unwilling participant of this holiday
Kara chief spender of money and very willing participant of this holiday due to the fact that Mum and Dad were paying.
Lucy chief of all red heads and chief moaner (especially in hot weather).
When I booked the DC tickets a year ago, with Virgin, I did wonder whether the weather would be ok. There was no option to alter the date, unlike when you book direct, and if there had have been I probably would have altered it to yesterday. The weather forecast was upper 80s but overcast and showers later on in the day. Never mind, taxi arrived at 7.45am and we got the swim at 9.30am.
The first visitor we met was Sid the Sloth...
Andy, Lucy and myself have been once before (3 years ago) but Kara had never been and was really excited by everything!
Even the mask and snorkle had to be tried on....
Kara was absolutely petrified by the larger sting rays and wouldnt go further than about 4 strokes, quickly heading back to put her feet on dry land as soon as one moved. All you could hear were these frantic noises coming out of her snorkel!!
We actually had 2 dophins during the swim - a baby, 2 years old, who was called Dot and an older one (who we had 3 years ago) called Capricorn.
Food was fantastic and much healthier that the usual chicken strips and fries .although the chocolate cake did nothing for the waist line.
Thunder began at about 3.30pm and we had to get out of the water for about 20 minutes so went to see the birds...Lucy loves this bit, as she adores all animals.
I love this picture of the girls - probably my favourite of the whole holiday!!
Thrown out at closing time and then went to the PM for a snack in bed at 9.30pm all worn out!
Tomorrow: AK (again) and RR
