Ok, not the scary nails.....how about the tie dyed halloween nails??

(cause I know how much tie-dyed is loved around here) :rotfl2:

How about cutsy Halloween nails??

I'm glad you put a descriptive, I was going to ask "what terrible infection do you have? Feel better soon"
I don't get out much, can ya tell?

I had a pedicure only once in my life, it was at an Aveda Institute.. the student did a terrible job - I could see the brushstrokes and some of the polish was on my toes in a blob. She did the required shoulder massage, had to tell her please stop! You're killing me! Pinch, grab, pull, pinch.. owwwwwww... Needless to say, I haven't gone back. :rotfl:

My neighbor gets hers done all the time, I better ask her where she goes. Then again, my toes are UGLY. :rolleyes1

That's sad about your bad pedi experience. It's one of my favorite splurges for myself (but a bad one would suck). I have ugly toes too, but I just make sure to rock what I got :thumbsup2

Ooh, I want those tie dye nails......or the candy corn nails :thumbsup2

Stacie - have an awesome time and stay safe! Don't miss me too much, 'K?

:lmao: By the way....these aren't my nails....I'm not that creative or steady handed.....lol :thumbsup2

Speaking of pedicures, I need suggestions for pretty Fall nail colors. Anyone?

Glittery orange ;)
Ooooo! :sunny:

Vampire Nails!!
Eeeeee! :scared1:

OK, that's creepy.
Uh-huh! ::yes::

I don't have painted nails very often. I used to paint them myself before going on vacation, so even once I got home they reminded me of the fun we had.

A month ago I had my first mani/pedi experience. Everyone said I had to try it, I would love it. I did like it, though all the massaging caught me by surprise. :rotfl:

I was so pleased with the results! The fingernails, which start to chip after a couple days when I do it, lasted about 3 weeks, and the toenails even longer. And they were beautiful.

My infrequent application hasn't stopped me from collecting nail polishes. Over the past year when I saw them go on sale, I bought some new ones to try, most of which are a little out of the box for me. My latest acquisitions (I'm trying to decide which to use for my October trip):

Deep Reds:
OPI "I'm Not Really A Waitress" (looked blood-red to me!)
Rimmel 340 "Torrid" (burgundy with a shimmer to it)

Dark Blues:
Sally Hansen 23 "Blazing Blue" (beautiful deep blue with a shimmer)
Sally Hansen 380 "Night Flight" (dark, midnight blue!)

Deep Purples:
Sally Hansen 92 "Deeply Violet" (eggplant with a shimmer)
OPI "Black Cherry Chutney" (more of a deep plum color)

My fave splurge is a massage. :cloud9: I had a really cheap self-employed therapist last year. Apparently too cheap, he went out of business and now works for Massage Envy - boo!
I am on a "getting to know you" basis with a new therapist (she is awesome and does a bit of reiki too), I really need to go back it's been about a month.

I have to admit, I had fake nails done before our hawaii trip......I hated it!!! My nails took months to recover from them.

Never had a pedicure or massage. The thought of somebody touching me, creeps me out!! With my fibro, I definitely don't want somebody "kneading" my muscles....I wouldn't be able to move for a week.....so wouldn't be very relaxing.

One of these times, I'll get brave & let someone do my toes.....but I haven't got the courage to allow that yet.

I have fibro too, somewhat mild symptoms (compared to other expereinces I have read on support groups/facebook). "kneading" is not a good technique for most people anyway. Smooth strokes, gentle pressure, slowwwly working on areas a layer at a time.. MUCH better.

My first massage was painful, but I found the more I went.. the better I felt! At one point I was going every week (cheap! $20 for an hour), the stiffness and pain were nearly gone. I could feel the muscles start to tighten up again about two days before my next visit.
When I was forced to stop going (closed business abruptly), I waited to find someone new.. thinking maybe I could skip it. :rolleyes1 yeah, not a good time.

Went to a new person, the first session wasn't great- had to ice my back. Went again three weeks later , oooo wow what a difference! :cloud9: Having a session a month apart is not ideal, I just have to figure out how to get it into my family's schedule.

Yeah, I was telling someone about my experience and said the massaging was nice at first (I'd been told they'd massage my feet), but when it moved to my ankles, then my calves and around my knees, I was a little uncomfortable! :rotfl:

The person I was talking to had this expression:
Soooo... That's not normal?! :scared1:

Still don't see getting a massage high priority for me....lol

Yikes!! That would make me very uncomfortable!!! Just the thought of someone messing with my toes creeps me out a bit......I know, weird!! :rotfl:

:lmao:

Would that be considered a "spa" pedicure? Mine was so utterly awful and basic, they don't even have tubs to soak your feet. Spray bottles and warm towels.. not very relaxing. It was a Groupon offer, get what ya pay for I guess.:sad2:

My sister treated me to a pedicure before her wedding and I loved it:love: I was so worried about someone touching my toes too.

I'm hoping to find time to get one before I leave for Vegas next week!

I could go for that. Just give me a bit of a heads up on timing so I can plan around that. Maybe Angie could be persuaded......... Angie, I'll bring cookies!
Cookies?? That's all you need to say!

It's our 8 year anniversary so I'm actually attempting to make Brad a nice dinner of roast beef, mashed potatoes and yorkshire pudding! I don't cook much or very well so I hope it turns out. At least he's easy to shop for, :happytv: ;)

Nooooo, it was the standard pedi at the nail salon I went to in my neighborhood. I did tell them it was my first time, so maybe they did a little extra? :rotfl:

Glittery orange ;)
That sounds....bright. lol

You could go for the dramatic:

Vampire Nails!!
OMG, I love Halloween and all, but those look like someone got their hand caught in the car door.

I've never had one. Probably never will. It does creep me out a bit to think of someone touching on my feet.

I'm going to check those out! The last two purples sound nice.

Gotta have pretty toes for Vegas!
Happy Anniversary! Enjoy dinner.

Sally Hansen Deeply Violet
Weird! This looks black in the picture, doesn't it?

OPI Black Cherry Chutney
I found a photo of this color applied to nails, but they looked black, too! I hate how hard it is to tell colors on the computer...

That sounds like a lot of fun! I am interested, it just depends on when it falls. :)

Cool!

Stacie- That cruise sounds amazing, I would love to go to Greece and many of the other places listed. I hope you have a fabulous trip!!!

I would also be interested. It would be really nice to meet some of the Divas before February.

I was also wondering if any of the Divas in the area (PNW) wanted to get together for a mini-meet to go see the new Disney store in Seattle and/or Bellevue and then maybe have a nice lunch somewhere? With all these mini-meets and trips to DL that have been going on I thought another one up here would be a great idea, I really need a Disney fix!

Sounds fun to me...isn't it at West Lake Center? I was thinking of going down there Oct 22 (I think...is that a saturday?) Is it open by then? They have a Rainforest Cafe in that mall too!

Ooooo! :sunny:

I actually have the OPI "I'm not Really a Waitress". My ds(6) got it for me for christmas a few years ago!

We can do cookies!

Hi all...had a fun night at a PTO planning event! Hope you all are well and I agree that it needs to be friday!

That should work for me. I have something to do that night, but not until 4 so maybe earlier is better. Where are you staying? Maybe Jane and Michele can make it, too. It's always fun to meet up before the main DL trip.
.
We are staying at Polo Towers, which I am told is near Planet Hollywood.
My friend Levi who passed away earlier this year had two of these hairless Absynnians, which is mom now owns. They are creepy, but cute. When you pet them it feels like you are petting an armpit :rotfl: One of his cats plays fetch!
I think I remember someone saying they wanted to sign up for the Nike Woman's Marathon but they didn't get a spot...

Well Nike+ emailed me a code to sign up for the sold out race.

If any of the Diva's want it let me know. It looks like it's good for 2 people.

I got a spot...but can no longer go since I double booked for my anniversary weekend :upsidedow

And here is the horrible photo of me with Dr. Owen Hunt....:cloud9:

He is an actors? I have no idea who he is so I must not watch his show if he is the actor.

I saw the picture you posted on FB. I must say the race looked so very hard. Your husband has to have a lot of drive to even try this let alone finish.
