Girls Trip~OLD THREAD (see first post for link to new one)

Howdy all! DH's company finally dropped the other shoe and officially cut his salary, effective Monday. Not fun. He has an interview on Wednesday with another company. The job would be a resume step backward, but they have a lot of work in the hopper, so it could keep him busy for a few years and hopefully have room to move up. The money is in the right ballpark if they have decent benefits. We'll see what happens. He picked up a little side work and made $500 this weekend. Hopefully that will continue as well. Fun times, I tell ya.

For those who fly Southwest, I got an email about a weekend sale for select dates between Dec 13 and Jan 5. In case anyone was toying with hitting DL for the Holiday season.

We spent today up in the mountains and went apple picking. After that we went to a German bakery in the same town for a few treats.

Wow... quiet in here!

Here's a good one.... I have the accuweather app on my phone (android) and on my iPod Touch. The iPod has Tuesday's high forecast at 82. The DROID (and their website) show a high of 80. The Nat. Weather Svc says 78. I understand the 2 degrees between NWS and accuweather (DROID), but 2 degrees difference between accuweather apps? Go figure.

Hi Lisa!!

Well after a tough week, hubby & I, along with my son Tyler & his friend went out last night for karaoke. Those 2 kids were hilarious!! Of course after 4 cocktails & 2 Jagger Bombs (each).......what would you expect. Tyler is definitely a happy drunk. We were in stitches all night! I think the highlights would be his singing Strawberry Wine.....I've never seen a guy get that into a song before followed by his dancing to me singing All That Jazz while doing an interpretive robot dance with jazz hands (try envisioning that)!! I sure wish I had an Iphone so we could have videotaped that....... It was nice to cut loose, relax & let some of the stress & sadness slip away for an evening.

Hey Beth, my father in law is in Vegas this week...how's the weather there? Is he going to come back as red as a lobster?

I just got back from my god sons birthday party...he turned 10. I made him a lego cake and it turned out pretty well. I will try to remember to post a pick of it next time I transfer the pics from my camera.

I feel like I was busy all weekend but didn't get anything accomplished! Oh well. I did buy a couple of lanyards for the kids...I want to put their contact info in them in case they get lost. Kiera is only 3 and doesn't talk to strangers, even helpful ones, well. I also bought laminate paper to get my cruise sign for our door ready and some magnet tape to attach it to the door. One more thing off my list. I am hoping to buy some items for the fish extenders saturday when I meet up with Deb and Candy? at the Disney Store in Southcenter...anyone else able to make it? I am thinking around noon with lunch at Rainforest Cafe around 1pm? Does that sound ok ladies?

He should be ok. This weekend we were in the 90's, but today and the rest of this week we are supposed to drop down to low to mid 80's. Way better than the triple digits found over summer!

It's been pretty quiet around these parts!! It's probably because we chat so much on FB .

I think so. But starting next month the planning will rev up again and meal sign ups will start! So keep that in mind everyone. Take a look at the schedule on the front page and get an idea of which meals you want to sign up for.
And sign ups for things like the hunt and last years tee will start winding down, so it will be time to start checking in here more often in November.

I was trying not to get my hopes up for the Diva trip, just in case it didn't work out.
But, last night my husband surprised me when he said that I could use some of his Aeroplan miles for my plane ticket in February! YAY!
He's been traveling every week this month for work, but I guess it has paid off!

I'm so happy I bought an AP on last year's trip. Now the only big cost will be the hotel! (Still looking for a couple more roomies...)

Hi Ladies,

I'm excited that I get to see you guys this week! I am stoked for the halloween party! I should get the rest of my costume in the mail tomorrow. I hit a road bump with the pants I ordered and the replacement doesn't look like it will arrive in time (I also don't have time to take it to have it taken in and altered). Good thing I ordered backup pants! lol It looks cool too and I can wear it any time and not just once a year.

Last Wednesday I went to the AP exclusive event at DL. Another friend of mine asked a friend and I if we would like to join them for the same even tonight. I said: "Heck yeah!" It gets me out of work early and it will be fun to hang with friends(and say hi to those hunky chimney sweep guys!)
