Survivor 50 Thread

Just caught up. Well the losing tribe will probably keep losing at this point. They have no physical strength and minimal brains. Survivor tribe division and subsequent changes are questionable. It becomes a boring show when you pretty much know what will happen at competitions.

AND I HATE the Zac Brown segment. As I viewer I am there to watch the game and game play. I have no interest in a celebrity hijacking a good portion of an episode to showcase himself.

I agree. The Billie Eilish idol is one thing. It is kind of like Sia giving the money at the end. But the Zac Brown fishing segment wasn't necessary. It would be one thing if he was teaching a tribe member, using the wimpy spear they are given, but to take a boat far out and use a professional spear was silly.

When they had the first tribe swap, they said "the fans have spoken." What did the fans say - more tribe swaps before a tribe is decimated? If so, they should have another swap soon. Since we didn't see it in the preview, I assume it isn't happening this week.

I'm not sure that can really be prevented though.

For one the fans kept the no flint must earn it. That alone will keep kicking the tribes down. No food either at the beginning was also a fan vote and that will keep kicking the tribes down.

And the thing that can't be accounted for but is a problem is if a tribe votes more stronger players physically out too early. There's some very valid reasons for doing so but can come at the cost of issues.

So a tribe swap while I wouldn't mind now happening again (and they've done that before swapping multiple times over before the merge) it won't prevent a tribe from eventually running into an issue where they lose more than once back to back.

If the fans wanted to see more of the older way of doing it then providing some food and flint at the beginning would mean there is a higher chance of players staying strong rather than a less physically strong player standing a higher chance of becoming physically weaker for challenges faster.

One of the main reasons why the producers said it was unlikely to return to the longer timeframe was because the new era was more physically and mentally demanding and crushing because of the no food/no means of making fire the easier way and having to earn that. It was intentionally meant to make them feel the effects faster than the longer day format of before, the downside is those physically weaker players can more easily drag a team down quicker. Not to say that a physically strong player is always the best at the challenges but their bodies can handle most often the lack of food and fire better at the beginning.

Zac Brown didn't edit the epidode.

Zac Brown agreed to the entire thing. He was well aware of them filming him to be edited. He knows his "star level" and that he would be highlighted. If he wanted to experience Survivor - then play the game. Catch fish the way they do. Scrimp for fruits the way they do. It was ... I don't know, obnoxious.

If I wanted to watch him, I would .... I want to watch the Survivor players.
