Girls Trip Hotel

So 4 of my girlfriends and I are planning a girls trip to Disneyland for mid July (20-22) and I am doing some research to present them the options of places to stay since I have had an annual pass off and on for the last 10 years so am the expert of the group. I know that 5 people can stay in a room at any of the on property hotels which would be fun and when you divide the cost by 5 the difference between Paradise Pier and Grand Californian is only about $150 per person with Disneyland Hotel being in the middle price wise. I have stayed at all three hotels at some point or another (though not at the Grand in many years) but didn't really pay attention to the rooms with the thought of 5 people being in there. Thoughts on room size with 5 people vs other factors of each hotel? I also have looked at a suite at The Anaheim Hotel (I have stayed there but only in a regular room) and the Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites (have never stayed there) so not opposed to off site if makes more sense. Cost isn't the hugest factor but most of the girls will probably never have the opportunity to stay on property on a trip with their families due to cost. Oh yeah and another factor to throw in is that I will be almost 7 months pregnant when we go...

On site would be great for summer, especially with you being pregnant. Nothing like relaxing in the lobby of the Grand (or relaxing on the patio of club room watching the monorail go by while snacking).

I would absolutely stay on site. DLH would have the largest rooms. GCH is my favorite and in some ways better than DLH for a girlfriend getaway because of the double sink vanity outside the bathroom. So much easier with several women getting ready to have that setup. Most of the rooms at DLH don't have that setup but have the vanity in the part of the bathroom where the tub/shower is, and a door into a little toilet area from the bathroom. It's much more awkward for getting ready if someone needs to use the toilet or wants to shower because you can't use the vanity due to steam, privacy, or both. The GCH also has the nicest location and access to amenities although Trader Sam's is a good draw and you can take the monorail pretty easily from DLH. Rooms at GCH are somewhat smaller but I don't really think it's a very big deal. I personally wouldn't bother with PPH unless you got a suite with concierge. DON'T stay at Anaheim Hotel. That place just keeps getting worse and I'll never go back (stayed last Oct). Just stayed at Desert Inn and they wouldn't even hold luggage. You have to rent a locker and they do sell out. It has a good location but 4 of us women stayed there for Dapper Day and it was lacking for 4 of us so I think 5 would be awful. As you said, when you're splitting the cost like that, the difference in cost between the hotels doesn't end up being too great but the quality is very different.

The GCH is my favorite for girls trips. The lobby/lounge area and the pool area are so nice! It definitely makes the trip feel special.

While I am a diehard GCH fan, with a group of 5 I think the DLH would be a bit roomier.

We stayed there over Thanksgiving and had a standard room in the Adventure tower with a small glimpse of DtD (mostly trees) and fireworks from DL at night! It was so cool to spend our arrival night in bed watching the fireworks. We also loved being so close to Steakhouse Lounge and Trader Sams (maybe you could get a fun mocktail). Strolling through DtD was a lovely way to start to morning. We often took the monorail back when in DL.

I just came back from DL with my 4 dc. We stayed at the GCH. Loved the location but rooms were small for 5 people.
