Hi! I have been lurking and reading, reading, reading...and just started posting last night. The forum has helped so much; thank you to all mods and regular contributors for so much info, but I still like I am forgetting/ missing things I should be doing or planning. Hoping of few of The Dis experts can read over our plan and see if anything sticks out that I have forgotten or should change.

Us, as brief as possible, but trying to include all details.

Guests: Myself, DD (almost 4), my mom, who has mobility issues (state issued disability card, etc).

Hotel: DLH, 1 bedroom (2 queens & 1 daybed) suite, handicapped acces. Reserved, paid for.

Must: Booked an ECV for mom through Deckert's

MHP: 10/2; tickets bought. Costumes done and being shipped to the hotel.

Entertainment/Dining planned:
M: Arrive, check in, casual explore. Picnic Dinners ordered for WOC.
T: EE DL, ? ; leave park early afternoon, swim/rest, def. nap for DD, light dinner, back to park 5:30 ish for MHP.
W: EE DCA, hit carsland asap. 11:40 PS AG for lunch. See how DD does, might go back for rest or nap...or since park closes at 8, might just go until she drops.
TH: EE DL, PS BB 11:30...dep on how T & W went finish up our 'musts' at DL or DCA.
F: No parks, too rushed, but there will time for character breakfast if we want or shopping in DTD.

Misc: Celebrating DD's 4th birthday; ordered Mickey's Birthday Wish in room celebration.

 Why am I feeling so nervous? I just feel like I know I forgot something.

I would bring my own stroller for daughter. My grand daughter was 4 last year for our DL trip. We stayed at the DLH also. It was nice to have our own stroller on the evenings Lilly fell asleep. Having to carry her back to the hotel from the DL stroller rental area would have been very hard with the distance and weight of a sleeping 4 year old. My daughter had a rather inexpensive stroller she took. It was similar to an umberella stroller just a bit sturdier. I understand others have had issues with missing items from stollers left unattended while the guest is on an attraction or the good strollers even being stolen. My husband or I were always with the stroller but just wanted you to be aware theft does happen even at DL.

Have fun.

Thanks, I am planning on bringing our umbrella one, as well. I can't remember the brand, but it is very light weight and pretty sturdy. Good to know about the thefts though...I would have never thought about that. :(

Make sure you get your dd a birthday pin. It's so fun to have CM's saying "Happy Birthday!" to you all day. :)

I would also bring a stroller for a 4 year old. Plus it gives you somewhere to store your stuff. If you don't need it you don't have to use it.

You might want to stop at the store and pick up some snacks and drinks. When my kids were little I always carried: baby wipes/hand sanitizer, sunscreen, hat (for warm days), ponchos for water rides or rain (if you don't want to get wet) bottled water & snacks, autograph books and pens (somewhere easily accessible), camera, etc. I sometimes would pack a change of clothes (with little kids you just never know) and a sweatshirt in the evening.

I think your plan to go back to the room in the afternoon is good. That is one of the main reasons I like to stay on property.

Your itinerary looks good...have a great time! We'll be there on Monday and Tuesday, so if you see a group of 9 with another ECV say hi! :wave2:

Thanks for all the tips! We're 'neighbors', I am in South San Jose :) 2nd bay area gal I've 'met' here tonight! :wave2: Are you going to MHP on 10/2?

DD's birthday is actually a little later in the month, but my mom is from Seattle so we're celebrating with this trip. I really wanted to go closer to her birthday but the timing didn't work. Will they give her a button even if it isn't her actual birthday?

Another San Jose member checking in!! We will also be there for the party in 10/2! See you there :)

I'm in south SJ too...small world! No, we're not doing the Halloween party--kids are too old now. :(

Yes--go for the pin! We always pick one up for a birthday even if we're off by a couple of weeks.

Woo-hoo! We will need a secret handshake soon!

And yes, they will give you a button. My DH had one for his last trip even though hid birthday was still a few weeks away.

You can ask for the button when you are checking into the DLH. Last 2 times we went, we were celebrating birthdays that did not occur during the times we were there. Make sure and have her wear the button every day during your trip. It makes it fun to have lots of people wishing you a Happy Birthday all day, every day.......that is of course, unless she gets weirded out by it. :rotfl:

Only other thing I would agree with was having some drink/snacks in your room. We always bring a case of water when we go. Waters in the park are almost $4.00!! And snacks def help tide over rumbly tummies in the park and back in the room too.

We always do a character breakfast on our last day. We dont usually go into the parks on our drive home day so the character breakfast is a nice touch to end the Disney magic on. One more thing about the breakfast....if you schedule your reservation at 9:45-ish or later, the place is waaaaay less busy and you get more character interaction. When we did our last one at PCH Grill, it was really busy when we got there & sat down (about 9:30-9:45). But within about 15-20 mins, most people had left & headed into the parks and there was hardly anyone in there. We had a ton of character interaction and the kids loved it!

Have fun on your trip!
