Hi there!! So are you joining us yet??? :rolleyes1 ;)

Hey Wendy!!
There's so many of you from the same area! That's great. That would be fun if you could all ride in together!! Get the party started early! :dance3:

BTW, not sure if you saw my other post a ways back, but I've been to Acton many times. My in-laws own land out there and we almost moved there!

I did see your post... It's a great place to live and raise our boys... We have a few acres and LOTS of animals.. Sooooo different than the SF valley where I grew up, but I really do like it out there...

Thank you to the others out there that posted replys to my train travel question.. Your input is much appreciated...

:goodvibes

I'm picturing a group of you guys all taking the train in, and I'm incredibly jealous. I love the train. :)

I know I had more to say but I got distracted, sorry!

I am in Lancaster! I think we might need to have a pre-meet at DL for the AV group! Maybe we can all carpool so we can skip the train. Its fun to see that there are so many of you in my area, sometimes I feel like I am in the middle of no where from how some people react.

I also wanted to through out the idea if not a lot of people are going to arrive early on Thursday, maybe a late bit to eat at UVA might be a good idea. They have some decent prices and some good simple fare (my favorite is the Pizza and the garlic fries YUMMY!). That way us early to the park people can spend more time in the parks and those arriving later can just meet up with us there with no rush.

If we eat in the park on Thursday night, what about the people who don't have AP's? They would have to use one day on their ticket to do that. I was thinking we should eat at DTD Thursday and in the park on Friday... just a thought.

I'm going to go look at some of the menus to get ideas for a place for a dinner on Thursday. I'm thinking maybe we should be in one of the parks since we'll be in DTD on Friday night. :confused3

What do ya'll think? Any ideas? Well, I'll see what I can find.....

(I'm bored...lol) :rotfl:

ETA: What do ya'll think about Carnation Cafe for Thursday dinner? I've never been so I don't know if it's a good place or not. The menu sounds good.

Thoughts? Other ideas?

I think outside the park for Thursday night might be the best option, honestly. I will be able to take off Friday, Sat and Sun and then EITHER Thurs. or Mon. Most likely it would be Monday. If we do it outside the park, those who are getting in on Thursday would still be able to join us. We could do it at DtD, or in one of the resorts, or we could go somewhere off site close by, like Mimi's or Millie's or Tony Romas or something. Or, we could choose another DtD restaurant, too. I'm pretty open, but if I don't have my annual pass by then, I don't know that I'd buy an extra day to get in just in the evening. (Then again, I'm a disney freak, so I may anyway! :rotfl: But, for those cutting costs, they may not.)

On other things I've seen......(Forgive me, random thoughts jump into my head now and then!! :confused3 )

For those who are having challenges with flights, check out all the area airports. Be sure to add in whatever it might cost to get to DLR (for example, we could get LAX for about $20 less pp, but would have to pay alot more for shuttle, etc.). But, if you're thinking to rent a car, there's often a number of area airports that are significantly cheaper if you're flying from the west. My parents would fly in and out of Burbank and Ontario for much less than LAX or Orange County. Sometimes flying in and out of San Diego can be cheaper. We've even flown in and out of Vegas and driven into DLR. It's about 4-4.5 hours to drive. When we flew out last time from MN, we went in and out of vegas. We saved almost $100 pp that way on the flight and about $200 less for 10 days of a mini van. For us it was worth it.

Another thought that I had for those who have issues with leaving vehicles and spouses, you may want to rent a vehicle. Often, renting a compact car can be less expensive than a bus or train ticket. You may even be able to combine with others and split the cost, if people are coming from the same area. Just a thought.

Oh, and Beth, my burning question......since the "official drink" of the ladies WDW trip is the Blue Goose, what are you thinking of for this trip?!? :rotfl2:

If we wanted to, we could get "DIS Ladies Only Trip 2007" shirts from Zazzle.com. And, if you SR, you can get credits for it too! It would be fun to have shirts that proclaimed we were there! Especially for Sat. If we all agreed on the wording, we can pick our characters, pick the size and style, long sleeve or short sleeve, color, etc.

I'm signing off until later tonight. I got sent home from work because I was coughing so much. They just wanted me to go home and not infect everyone! ;)
I'll pop in later, but I wanted to check in before I hit some zzz's.

Ah, the blue goose reminded me that I was going to suggest checking out the Cove Bar in DCA at some point. I keep reading about it on mice chat, they seem to go there for their every-Sunday meets (along with the bar in GCH), and it sounds like a nice place to go.

Willie at the HoJo is out of town on business until Nov. 19th, and he is the only one that can quote group rates. So, unfortunately, I won't know anything until next week. Everyone keep your fingers crossed.

Okay, I wasn't sure. Yes, it seems like a great place to be. I bet the kids love living there.

OMG, your right. :headache: I know alot of us have APs but not everyone. I wouldn't want anyone to be left out.

OKay, we can eat out of the parks on Thursday then if that works better for the group. :thumbsup2

Hi Michelle, that's pretty much what Stacie said and I agree. It makes sense. (see this is why we need lots of ideas coming in!!)

As for the drink.....well, the Blue Goose wasn't my idea, so I'm not very creative with the drinks, BUT we can work on it.

I think shirts sound fun!! Maybe as it gets closer we can brainstorm and come up with something cute or a funny slogan or whatever. :confused3

I make a pretty mean margarita!!! Both traditonal, cadillac and Foo Foo Strawberry!!!!!!!!!!

oy... I LOVE a good Cadillac margarita!!!:cloud9: We could find a couple battery operated blenders to use out by the pool...:rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

I hope things work out for all you in the same area to meet up or travel together. That sounds fun. I hate traveling alone. :sad2:

Is it too late to join? I would love to jump in on this! I need a break from my monsters!
April 25th is my 29th (and final LOL) birthday so this will be a perfect gift !!!

Let me know if it is not too late.

Anybody in Northern Cali wanna carpool with me? I could drive my SUV that seats 8 comffortably!! We could start the party early!!

Okay, this has been updated to show the proposed changes of eating in the parks on Friday instead. And some other ideas were thrown in.

Please share your thoughts, ideas, opinions.....

Thursday, April 24:
Official starting day!!

Lunch: Those of us who get in early enough can make plans to meet up for lunch if we want, once we know our arrival times.

Dinner: At DTD, either HOB and/or Jazz Kitchen, followed by drinks at the UVA bar??

Friday, April 25:
Breakfast: At the hotel? Maybe something light at the park?

Lunch: What about an early lunch at Blue Bayou??

Dinner: In one of the parks?

Saturday, April 26:
Breakfast: Goofy's Kitchen

Lunch:

Dinner:

Sunday, April 27:
Maybe a tour?? There is the Segway tour at DCA or the Walk in Walt's Footsteps at DL.

Breakfast: Those doing an early tour might want to just grab something quick and easy.

Lunch: (If you doing the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour, it includes lunch.)

Dinner: Since this is our last night, we should do a fun dinner. Ideas??

Monday, April 28:Going home

Breakfast: Depending on the departure times, maybe those with APs, who have the time, can meet in the park for breakfast??
