Have any of you been on the Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour (I think that is what it is called)? I haven't and it looked interesting. I am not really interested in the Segway Tour....it looks fun but dangerous for someone as clumsy as me.:rotfl:
Hi January!
I haven't done it yet, but Ruben (my DH) and I are hoping to do it in January when we go just the two of us. I'll let you know how it is.

Although everyone that has done it, says it's great. If it's that good, I might do it again in April. We'll see.

Love the schedule! Although I'm a little bit sad because I'll be missing the official starting day. :guilty:
Its ok though, at least I won't miss Friday night drinks or Goofy's Kitchen on Saturday morning! I am determined to be there Friday evening through Monday morning!! Let the penny pinching begin!
Hi Ashley! Yes, you'll have to make sure you are there for Friday night. I think it will be fun to hang out in DTD! :dance3:

Where in Oregon are you? Im in Eugene.

I hate that I could go to Florida for less than I can fly to LA.:confused3 I got a really good deal in May. Im hoping that I can find a similar price, or even cheaper.
Hi Nicole! I hope you can get a good deal too! :wizard:

I was wondering how many of you use Southwest and get their Dings?

I hope that you all are having a great night.

I am really looking forward to this trip! I can't wait! Beth, you will have to let us know how the Tour is. I am hoping it will be fun enough for you to want to go back.:thumbsup2

This weekend we are decorating for Christmas! I know that it is early...but I am ready!

I'm all about the Dings.

Though DH just got a day of vacation for our December trip, and now I have to switch him to another flight, a more expensive flight. Harumph.:upsidedow

Decorating for Christmas already???

:rotfl: ;) I'm kidding. I know alot of people are ready to get started. I can't do it this early, but soon I will.

My last post sounded weird..
I am going to bed! Goodnight, ladies!:hippie:
Okay then I must be tired too because it made sense to me. :rotfl2:

The Dings are great. I hope we can all get some great deals when the time comes.

Is there anyone who's stayed at the Candy Cane Inn before?

I'm going to wait to see what kind of deal we can get at the HOJO. :wizard: :thumbsup2
But if we can't get one, I'm really liking the CCI. I'm just wondering if it looks as good as the online pics? :confused3

I'm going to go look at some of the menus to get ideas for a place for a dinner on Thursday. I'm thinking maybe we should be in one of the parks since we'll be in DTD on Friday night. :confused3

What do ya'll think? Any ideas? Well, I'll see what I can find.....

(I'm bored...lol) :rotfl:

ETA: What do ya'll think about Carnation Cafe for Thursday dinner? I've never been so I don't know if it's a good place or not. The menu sounds good.

I am thinking about the CCI, too, if Hojo's doesn't have a deal.

Here is their website if anyone is interested in taking a look:3dglasses

I have read some online reviews for CCI at tripadvisor and it has some pretty nice reviews.

Carnation Cafe is really good. So is Cafe Orleans. There are lots of good places inside the park to eat at.

Hello ladies. I am headed to Disneyland in a few days and would be willing to do some recon. I will be driving a group of teens who will be off on their own and I will have time to look at menus, take pictures or find the best shopping deals.

Let me know what i can do to help in the planning.

Well... it's official! I talked to DH last night and he gave his blessing! Under duress of course, but who cares??? I am going to Disney Land! :woohoo:

My SIL just came back from DL and she stayed at the Candy Cane. She said it was ok but they messed up her room and then wouldn't make it right so my MIL had to stay with family somewhere else. But she said it was a pretty nice place, other than that problem. That probably didn't make any sense either did it?! Oh well. ;)

I'm taking the train to Anaheim as well... I'm in the Antelope Valley so it works out to about 2.5 hours by trains (have to take 2). I can't wait.

Steph

Hey Steph... I was wondering what trains are you taking to get to DL? I live in Acton and have a metrolink station in town that I could board at..
Thanks!!

You can take the metrolink from Acton to Union Station and from there switch to the Orange County line to Anaheim. I'm on the same trains, I just get on the first train 2 stops before you in Lancaster.

Hey guys...looks like a few of us are in the A.V. I live in Pearblossom and work in Palmdale! I think we are taking the Metro to Olvera Street on Saturday.

Hi,

I live in the Parkrose area, close to the Portland Airport. I saw that back in September when I went to Dl that I could fly to Fl alomost half the price for OC.

Too funny! I work right by the airport on 33rd. And our receptionist lives in the Parkrose area. Isn't it amazing how it is cheaper to fly into Fl? That is why we decided to go to DW in Sept. And they let us all fit into one room at POR.

Cool.. How do you get from the OC station to DL? Is it close enough to walk or do you catch a cab or bus?

Thank you...

Hi January! I never book anything without checking the Tripadvisor website first. :rotfl: :thumbsup2

Carnation Cafe is really good. So is Cafe Orleans. There are lots of good places inside the park to eat at.
I know! That's the trouble. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

OKay, I thought about Cafe Orleans, but it seemed like if we were going to do the Blue Bayou one day of the trip, that the two were too similiar in menu items.

Is this true? Anyone? :confused3

Hi Lesley.
How fun!! Lucky you! Well maybe not the carful of teens part.... :scared1: ;)

I'm going to send you a PM in a sec here. Thanks!!!

Hey Cindy!! That's GREAT news!!!!

The thong and the stripper shoes worked, didn't they? ;)

Thanks for the info on the CCI. That sucks they messed up the room. I've had that happen to me at other places, and it sucks! But it's good to hear it's a nice place. It seemed really nice in the pics, but sometimes you never know, so that's good news! :thumbsup2

Hi there!! So are you joining us yet??? :rolleyes1 ;)

Cool.. How do you get from the OC station to DL? Is it close enough to walk or do you catch a cab or bus?

Thank you...
Hey Wendy!!
There's so many of you from the same area! That's great. That would be fun if you could all ride in together!! Get the party started early! :dance3:

BTW, not sure if you saw my other post a ways back, but I've been to Acton many times. My in-laws own land out there and we almost moved there!

I was at DL yesterday and in the interest of research, my husband and I ate at HoB. Inside, there are a lot of small (4 top) tables, and there are several booths along the wall. The dining area is adjacent to a bar area. It can get pretty noisy inside, although DH and I could hear each other just fine. If we came in with a large group, it may be difficult to hear if they put the tables together to accomodate us. There is also outdoor seating, so that is an option as well. The food was very good. :)

I've also been to Brennan's Jazz Kitchen and I love the food there. It is a little more on the pricey side though. Both places have salads, but I'm sorry I forgot to check for Vegetarian entres.

WendyPooh, it is about a $10 cab ride to or from Disneyland to the Anaheim train station.

Lesley, want any adult company for part of your 'teen day'. Besides recon you can help me with the next Cazalet's Quest. (he he he)

Hi Chris! Thanks for the info.

I'm thinking we might run into a seating issue at alot of the places. I'm not sure, but it's likely with a large group. We might have to be prepared to break into smaller groups at some of the meals.
The idea of outdoor seating sounds good, providing it's not too cold or whatever.

I'm glad to hear the food is good!! I can't wait to try it! :thumbsup2

Oh, I forgot to say that since some were interested in HOB and some in Jazz Kitchen, there is still the option of splitting up into two groups and going to both places. It's fun to eat as a big group but we don't have to, if some would rather eat elsewhere.

We can try and eat at the same times, so when we are done, the groups can then meet up again at the bar afterwards. :)
