Girls Only Trip ~ Summer Exchange thread (Complete! Thanks ladies!)

Ok, so as long as our gift is better than a stinky old bottle of perfume we're good?? I feel better now that the bar is set nice and low.

She would go out (or 'shop' in her basement) and get something that looked like it might have cost the price limit at one time or the other.

One time I got a bottle of purfum from her that was brown! I know it had to have been at least 10-15 years old by the dates on the package.

Normally, I would say, it's the thought that counts (because in the end it is), but since I know for a fact that she hated me....I don't think that was the case here!

Brown perfume!!!?! Ugh. I hate it when it's so clear something was regifted for a Christmas or Birthday gift.

I'm with Beth, I can't imagine anyone hating you but the world is full of strange people. I'll bet your current MIL appreciates you.

Back to the exchange.... Beth, part of my package is being sent from a vendor directly to my person, otherwise it would have taken too long to have it sent to me first. I'll include a note to that effect in my box.

Are you all not wrapping or wrapping your items in the box? How are these things done, the board exchange virgin wants to know?

That's fine. I've had people do a "split" package where some comes from the and some from an online company.

As for wrapping, that's entirely up to you. I don't wrap. I actually used to have a tag that said that. But you can if you want.

Donna, yes, it's a year long rule. You should see me grumbling at Christmas time about all the wrapping I have to do. My actual tag said "Like it or not, I must wrap. Just don't expect any ribbons or bows. I refuse."

LOL The like it or not part is because of the kids. Santa's gifts are wrapped after all, so it has to be done.

I was just thinking about something. This exchange will finish up sometime in the first half of May. So that leaves all of June, July, and August before our next one starts in September.

Anyone up for another one over the summer?

Sign-ups would start end of June, with a send date in July. The theme would be "Favorite Disney/cartoon character" (meaning you can send anything you want, but in that person's favorite character) AND this one would be open to the ladies and our kids. Meaning you can sign up your kid(s) (or a niece or nephew or grandkid), just yourself or both.

Some of us will be meeting each other's kids in October so it might be kind of fun for them.
Of course, I'll match kids with kids, and grown-ups with grown-ups.

Just a thought. I don't mind hosting another one so soon if there is interest in doing one.

So we'd have:
June/July ~ Disney or cartoon character
September/October ~ Halloween
November/December ~ Christmas stocking
All leading up to the one in person at our Meet and Greet in February/March.




Just a thought. No need to decide now. We can wait and see how this one goes. And if anyone is interested, you can let me know.
