I have never sent a text message....don't even know how.


My u/s went well, and everything looks great! I have some pics, and I'll post one later. They aren't the best but she is quite a wiggler. They wouldn't give me a gender prediction, but she did say that she didn't see anything obvious, so a girl was still very likely.

I am going to get rid of Christmas in my house today. DH is cooking, and I look forward to that.

YAY! For a good u/s and no obvious body parts!!

I hope the holidays treated everyone well.

Thank you so much to those that sent me Christmas cards, it really brightened up my Christmas. Sally says thank you to everyone that sent her cards too. She especially loved the cards that had family pictures.

I'm sad to say that I wont be making the trip in February, but I expect you all to have fun for me. All of you with internet connections on the trip have to post updates every time you do something. I want to be on Facebook experiencing the trip through y'all. I don't care if you're just sitting on the curb, I want status updates at least once an hour. You all better takes LOADS of pictures for me too...please.

Just kidding....We are a texting family! I think it is a lot easier to just send a text, ask a question, get a response and then I am not stuck on the phone! Not that I mind talking on the phone, but talking via text you don't have to find an excuse to get off the phone.

Kaeleb learned how to text when he was like 4 or 5.

Thanks to everyone for your happy birthday wishes. I had a great day in Lugano with my DH. We went and spent time at the sauna and pool and then had a wonderful fancy dinner in the evening. It was the first date we've had since we moved to Switzerland so it was very very nice.

And thanks to all the ladies for the Christmas cards. Had a pile of them waiting for me when we got back home yesterday and I have all of them taped on my stairwell. Didn't have the heart to take them down with the rest of the Christmas decorations. They're so cheery! I think I'll leave them up until February.

So we are off to California tomorrow. I haven't yet packed, but I did do five loads of laundry today, took down the tree and other decorations, paid the bills and cleaned the apartment (which somehow is already messy). I can't believe that I'm off again, as I just want to stay home for a few days and catch my breath. But we have John's family to see and of course my birthday trip to Disneyland.

Again, I'd like to invite everyone for a drink and some birthday cake (or maybe cupcakes?) on Thursday, January 7 at 7pm at the Hearthstone Lounge in the Grand Californian. I will provide the Magicale (or drink of your choice) and cake. Do I need to make any sort of reservations at Hearthstone?? (am I spelling that right? I never can remember if it has an 'r' in there) Any advice on where I can get a cake at the park? Looks like there is a new cupcake place in Downtown Disney. Experts...please pipe in! I'm looking forward to seeing whoever can show up. Wendy..feel free to drive down from Roseville since you won't be making the February trip.

OK, must clean kitchen and pack.

Sarah - Best wishes to your friend, Heather. That takes a lot of nerve to go through the pregnancy and raising a child on her own. I know I couldn't do it! I told my mom that if I never marry I'd still definitely adopt a child but could never do AI.

Wendy - I'm so sad you won't be able to make it in February. We still haven't gotten a chance to sit and talk the past two trips.

Jen - Have a safe trip back to California! I don't know if I can make it but I'll let you know for sure soon.

I'm off to change my sheets, make my bed, clean the bathroom and fold two loads of laundry before Anais and I head out walking to the library.

I've got a quick window to get online, and I wanted to just check in and say hi. We are having a great trip so far. We went to Yosemite yesterday, and it was a winter wonderland there. So beautiful! Today we are just hanging out and relaxing. Tomorrow we are celebrating my birthday by going back to Yosemite to go ice skating in Curry Village and maybe some sledding. Then we will have dinner at the best litle Mexican restaurant in Groveland.

I am sorry you won’t be making it to the Feb trip!! I enjoyed trick or treating with you in Oct. but the night went too fast!! Please let us know if you are a able to make another trip to DL and I’m sure some of the local Divas would be happy to meet up with you. We’ll miss you in Feb.

I was hoping to have a nice dinner/movie date w/ DH...but his dad got admitted to the hospital late yesterday after his chemo treatment for severe weight loss, nausea and vomiting. He was having these problems prior to chemo starting but its gotten much worse. I'm hoping they can figure out whats going on and get him on some kind of plan. We will probably end up going up to the hospital this evening, which is totally fine.

We are on day 6 of a broken furnace....brrrrr! Its a darn good thing we don't live anywhere where it gets really cold! lol We had a guy out last night and he is going to give us some quotes today to fix or replace. We've lived here 19+ years and have never done a thing with it. I'm not even sure how old it is. So we'll see how that works out.

Yay Jill! I am glad you are joining Donna’s table for CC! I really enjoyed getting to know you at the Trick or Treat party and I am looking forward to seeing you again!!
I am sorry to hear about your DH’s husband…sending good thoughts to your family during this time.

Hope your holidays have been nice. Mine have been. I really miss my mom (passed in 1995) and dad (passed in 2005). I have one brother who's made some really bad decisions in his life, and I've been helping him, but told him that January will be the last month I pay his rent, so there is this underlying sadness to this season for me. However, I went to my ex-sis-in-law's house (my ex's sister) in San Diego for Christmas dinner, and spent a really nice time with her and her family, and then celebrated our Christmas on the 27th when my kids came home. It was really nice. I received thoughtful gifts from them, and that means so much to me.

Hi girls!

So I wanted to share that next year (hopefully in the summer!) I will be going back to school FULL TIME! I've spent enough time working full time and it sucks. I want to go back to school and I will! The only thing is I need to find a part time job that has medical benefits. I'm still at the age where I can go on my parents (Dad's), but it's too expensive to add me on. So back to school I go! WOO!!

Yay! I am so happy for you!!! I loved going to college…I’m a nerd I know! I would go back now just to take random classes if I had the time and/or to change careers…Mr. CA thinks I missed my calling and that I should go back to become a librarian!

Today is Laila's 1st birthday . I'm meeting my younger sister & niece and she's taking us to Ariels for lunch.

We had a wonderful day. I will just say that Mary Poppins is FABULOUS! Well worth every dime as Donna said. Sometimes the British accents were hard to decipher, but so very cute and well done. The children actors were over the top. As were all the actors. Bert was our favorite and the group tap scene the best.

I am so excited for Thursday especially after your and Donna’s reviews of MP! The kids are really excited and Mic hopes it rains so he can take his MP umbrella and wear his new navy double breasted wool coat! I have never seen a 13 yr especially a boy be so excited over his new wool coat…you that have met him will totally understand! He is such a character.

We have been car shopping for Mr. CA a new commuter car. He commutes 2 hours each day round trip. He now drives an SUV and is finally convinced that the money he saves in gas will pay his car payment and we can keep the SUV in better shape for hiking, climbing, camping trips. We have both been dreading the car shopping but it has been relatively painless – he just needs to make a decision.

We were going to take the kids to DL today but Mic woke up dizzy and this is the second day that he’s had dizziness so I told Mr. CA that we need to take him to the doctor because it’s just not normal so they are going within the hour. He had a fever overnight a couple of days ago and then was better until yesterday.

I am loving having this week off. Mr. CA always has this week off so I saved vacation days so I could have it off too and I don’t think I can ever go back to working this week! It’s been so relaxing and just a great week so far!

Just got back from the doctor appt. for Mic and she could not find anything wrong except for a little congestion. She had us take him to the lab for some blood work so hoping that comes back normal and it's just a little blimp! He is just so dizzy even when he is laying down...poor guy. He did great with his first blood draw, I told him not to look at the needle and he didn't and he did very well and it did help that the lab tech was a good one! I've had those bad lab techs and ouch!!!
