My back is hurting again, and I am walking like an old lady. So hot I know.

Hey, girl, only you can make a bad back look hot. ;) Seriously, I am sorry it has been giving you more trouble.

Hi Divas! I just could not wait any longer (sorry Courtney) so I tried the Maple Bacon sucker and really it tastes like maple and not any bacon flavor but I can't bite it so I'm only licking it, maybe there will be a 'hint' of bacon in the layers...but all in all it is good despite the name.

I'll let you know how many licks it takes to get to the middle. ;) Thinking of Dawn with every lick.

Maybe it has lost some of its bacon coz when I tried it (way back when she gave them to us) it really tasted smokey-baconlike.

Hey, where have you been? Weird pies are the trend. :goodvibes

I'm tempted to make all of you non-cream pie lovers my torta di uvetta crema. It is super delicious. :cool2:

Oh! The name of this just makes me drool. It sounds heavenly. I have made a few Italian desserts and they are the best. We must hear more about this one!!

Houston, we have liftoff!
I mean, we have HOT WATER!!!!!

Man, I can't wait to get in the shower. I feel like I've been on a camping trip.

I haven't seen my razor for a few days.....I'm starting to look a little tribal. :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

You and Amy can be the Wild Girls. ;)

I have 5 cans I think. I stocked up. But then again, I need them all because I'll be baking pumpkin pie, bread and bars.
What about you? Did you ever find some?

;)

Yes! I just starting going to different groceries and some of them had deliveries. So now I have more pumpkin in my cupboard than ever before. Have you made that pumpkin roll yet?

Thank you, Kelly!!! :goodvibes
:rotfl: Woooo! I don't think I can bite lollipops with my braces, but I'll just suck on it and taste the bacon goodness! (that sounded weird)

Be careful Courtney! We don't want any accidents.

Just a quick hello to all .
I'll be going to Disneyland tonight and then staying the night so I can get there at opening so the baby can ride Peter Pan & Dumbo without a horrible line. It will just be me & my 2 daughters. DS has football practice.

And please tell me why he has football practice on Thanksgiving :confused3. I know they have a game on Friday, but do they ever get a day off :scared:.

Love and Light to all!

That is so weird, practicing on Thanksgiving. Have a wonderful time at DL!

Wow, Capri, you are the bakemaster! What do you use for the huckleberry filling, meaning does it come in a can or jar or frozen? Yum.
We get fresh huckleberries every summer from people we know who go up into the mountains to pick them (since we live in huckleberry growing territory) and then we freeze them to use throughout the year until the next summer. I mainly use them for pies and making huckleberry pancakes, although I've occasionally used them to make huckleberry daiquiris, huckleberry martinis, and huckleberry shakes/smoothies. They are SO good, and good for you too. :thumbsup2

That sounds fantastic. That is the very best, to have fresh berries. I don't know why California can't grow them. We seem to have to import all of our berries and so we only see a few kinds.

Cheryl, have a wonderful time in Vegas and a meaningful time in Texas.:goodvibes

Interesting, is this a side job Cheryl? I've heard that lawyer is the SECOND oldest profession...wink wink nudge nudge.:rolleyes1

:rotfl2:

Oh, and I do enjoy tapioca too. Yummmy!

How about RICE Pudding? That's even more a fave than tapioca!!!!

Ummm, no. Rice goes on the side of my beans or under my orange chicken, not in my dessert.

Bacon makes everything better.

:lmao:

Thanks!

Up early with a huge list of to do's. Why did I give myself my own honey do list?

:rotfl: I like rice pudding and tapioca. I'm not picky I guess? :confused3

Hmm, I'll let you girls know if my lollipop is bacon-y. I'm in the bacon mood this morning.

I can't wait to spend the day with my momma and just relax! :thumbsup2
That sounds really nice. You work so hard, you deserve a relaxing day with family. :goodvibes

I don't love cake, either. I think I'm just picky about it. But I do love pies and brownies. Mmmmmmmm pumpkin bars or lemon bars.............
I'm making brownies! I have a recipe I love. Mmmmm. And I'm making pumpkin bars too. Come on over. ;)

For Thanksgiving my dh and kids are going to my mil's while I work and when I get off work I am heading to my moms with a pecan pie I am making tomorrow and green bean casserole...yum! Since it will just be the two of us we are just making our favorites...turkey breast, rolls, green bean casserole and pie.
Well, that's a bit of a bummer that your Dh and kids won't be with you, but spending time with your mom sounds so nice. I remember her! She's a sweetie. :)

Hi ladies! We are stll at DLR but leave tomorrow morning. We've had a good trip and I will post more later when I get to a real computer. :)
Safe travels home. Glad you've had fun!

All this food talk is making me hungry too. I can't wait for the stuffing! That is my FAVORITE dish at Thanksgiving. I can just fill my plate with it. Yummmm!!!
I love the sides, more than the turkey. I'd be happy with just stuffing, and potatoes. :thumbsup2

Yes! I just starting going to different groceries and some of them had deliveries. So now I have more pumpkin in my cupboard than ever before. Have you made that pumpkin roll yet?
No. I totally forgot to try that, but I still want to. We have lots of desserts planned for tomorrow already, so maybe I'll save that for Christmas. I saw another version of it, but it was made with chocolate cake, and that looked good too.

Ummm, no. Rice goes on the side of my beans or under my orange chicken, not in my dessert.
Amen!! :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Good morning everyone.

Happy Day Before Thanksgiving!

Wow, it is THICK foggy here this morning! Where's the back of my yard? It's out there somewhere. Spooky.....reminds me of a Stephen King story.

Good morning ladies!!

Today is November 25. You know what that means..........exactly 3 months until our next trip!!! :cool1: :woohoo: :yay: :cheer2: :dance3: I cannot wait. It will be so good to see everyone again, and finally meet some of the new ladies we've been chatting with. :goodvibes

I hope you all have a good day today. Anyone that is traveling for the holiday, please be careful and be safe on this busiest travel day of the year.

I imagine most of us will be spending the day preparing dishes for tomorrow, and doing some baking. Good luck to everyone with that. May all your dishes turn out perfect and tasty. That's definitely where you'll find me today, in the kitchen.

If I miss anyone between now and tomorrow, have a wonderful Thanksgiving. :grouphug:

Passing this along. It was sent to me from Shirley. :)
May your stuffing be tasty

May your turkey be plump,

May your potatoes and gravy

Have never a lump.

May your yams be delicious

And your pies take the prize,

And may your Thanksgiving dinner

Stay off your thighs!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Oh Dear, I am not multi quoting so know I will forget everything.

Basically you all have made me really hungry! I have to say, while not incredibly fond of raisins, sugar, vanilla, cream and cinnamon basically make anything taste good. So call it bread pudding, rice pudding, tapioca, or even raisin pie(well maybe not raisin pie)...I'm sure it is just yummy! Think of it like creme brulee with texture.

My Thanksgiving this year is going to be super simple. Usually we have a crowd of about 20 and usually at my house, which is a ton of work primarily for me for reasons that I shouldn't publish on the internet. But this year my sister took her son and my oldest on a trip to DL and then to Gram's house. My brother is working. My best friend and her family have an obligation to eat with her husbands boss. So it turns out it will just be me and hubby and the little one. We did have some invites, but honestly, after being sick a couple of weeks ago and still having the cough which effects my sleep and stamina, I am thrilled to just stay home!

So I bought a little gourmet turkey breast and a few fixings and will make a really simple dinner on Thursday. My big splurge was for a 4 pack of chocolate soufles that you cook to order and eat fresh out of the oven. I am really excited to try these, as I have only had chocolate soufle one other time, and that was when I was 18 (um,lets see that was 25 years ago!) and my roommates parents treated us to the Moustache Cafe in Los Angeles and they had chocolate soufle on the menu and it was to die for!

Okay, well off to get ready for our last 1/2 day of work and school before the big weekend. Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I know that I am incredibly grateful for my family and friends, including this wonderful group of dis divas that I look forward to chatting with every day.

Goood morning ladies!:goodvibes

THank you for all the links on the ham glazes. I'm definitely going to look over all of them today to decide. Chris wants the honey flavor and I want brown sugar. Need a happy medium LOL

I hope you all have a wonderful day! I woke up with a smile on my face since my bonus had been deposited into my account just in time for Black Friday!
It's a wonderful thing I get each year from my job, then we get another one, even bigger in January! It's the best time of year at my job...busiest but best :)

I hope you all have a wonderful day!. :grouphug:

Oh, that's easy. Whoever is cooking gets to make the final decision.

What, are you kidding? :rotfl2: I guess it depends what area of California you live in. I live in a semi-rural area of the central coast, and am surrounded by strawberry fields. We grow large percentage of the strawberries for the whole country, right here. San Diego grows a lot of them too. This is a short drive from my house. Click on the berries tab, and you see you can pick your own olallieberries, raspberries, blackberries, and others. And they make the best pies on site. Yum! Only problem is, we forgot to put in our order for Thanksgiving, and they're sold out for that day.

Good Morning Divas!! A quick check-in as I start a day of baking 4 pies, sweet potatoes, fudge, jello jigglers & the turkey. Then off to do some laundry, clean the entire house & having about 6 people come here for an Early Intervention meeting so decide the plan for services for the twins. NO PROBLEM!:lmao:

Saw the pediatrician yesterday & they've decided to do an MRI on Michayla to see if there is obvious brain damage....depending on what they find....they might want to do that to Shyann as well. The dr is concerned that Shy tends to lean forward on her toes when she walks & stands....concerned there is an issue with her cerebelum (sp?). We also are getting an autism eval referral for her as well.

I'm concerned my stocking exchange person has NOT received her package yet. It was mailed Thursday, priority & was to be there Monday...Tuesday at the latest & they haven't said anything about receiving it...... Hope it shows up today! (the person was on that thread yesterday...so I know they haven't received it yet.....)

Have a great pre-Thanksgiving day & hugs to all!!!! I feel blessed to be involved with this group!! You ladies are the best!!!

Good morning and Happy day before thanksgiving!!

Wow all that talk of food last night DROOL!!

Vicki I am glad you finally got up the nerve to try the pops. Like I said before that is one of those things that "sounds" weird but I think would taste good. And as you said it is and I bet Courtney is going to like hers as well! :)

I tell you one thing I LOVE the holidays but SERIOUSLY need to get control. I have officially gained back 10 lbs and am still going if I don't get things under control! I said I was going to wait till Jan to start over but I may have to start NOW or else I might gain ANOTHER 10 before then! :(. I hate the battles with your weight. UGH!

Anyway I hope everyone has fun today baking or if you are traveling to relatives. Sara I am sorry you have to work tomorrow! Sounds like you and your mom have a nice day planned. And I hope you get a big fat check for having to work on a holiday. Hopefully that will make it somewhat worthwhile. :)

I have to run in to work here in a minute since I won't be around on Friday and then mom is planning on doing a bunch of baking today so we MAY or may not go over there. I know she wanted Katy to come help her becuase she is the "chef in training" lol but we also are planning to go see New Moon tonight so not too sure yet what is going to happen.

Then as for us tomorrow we are going to mom's and my aunt and uncle and my other uncle (the one who had the big 90th in September) are coming over. Then Friday mom and I are going to do a little BF shopping and then we are all going to head up to Truckee. I really hope there is at least a LITTLE snow! Plus I think the girls are going to have a BLAST ice skating and seeing the tree lighting etc. We usually just stay home and hang out the weekend after thanksgiving so I am looking forward to something different. Heck this time last year I was in DW!

Have a GREAT day all and for any that I won't see before tomorrow have a WONDERFUL holiday!

Good morning ladies!

Well the birthday bowling bash for Kaitlyn was a success. We had a good time, and it was good clean fun for everybody. It was really funny, cuz my DH Dave and my son Derrick bowl with a real "curve." Next to us were some of Kaitlyn's guy friends. They all decided to master the "curve" effect. It was hilarious. They ended up putting up the gutter rails so at least they could get some points. My grandsons were there too. It was just too precious to see them drop the ball, and very slowly the ball would make it down the lane. Of course they had a bumper up too. Didn't get home until midnight. :faint: I also wanted to share that I had a "Cupcake" birthday cake made for Kaitlyn from Target. So cute. They take cupcakes, put them into the theme you have requested, and frost them altogether. When you are ready to serve, you just pull the cupcake from the rest. Easy and no utensils needed. They are also very reasonable compared to regular sheet cakes. So much fun compared to the good ole Costco cake.

I just want to give hugs to Capri, Jill:hug: and Stacerita.

All of this food sounds yummy.

I am a pie person myself. I love to make pies. Yummy!! My absolute favorite is probably lemon meringue. Next would be fresh strawberry and baked apple. My favorite cake is Kentucky Butter cake. My kids also love it. It is the cake 3 of my children request for their birthdays. So today I will be making one for Kaitlyn for her real birthday on Thanksgiving. I also love tapioca, rice pudding, anything custardy. I love love bread pudding. I have a killer recipe for that if anyone is interested.

Steph, I'm going to try your stuffing recipe. The one that I have is very close, but there are no cranberries or leeks in it. So I have bought all the ingredients, and everyone will be my guinea pigs tomorrow. :rolleyes1 :thumbsup2
I'm also making creamed onions, hot fruit compote with cinnamon and spices, fresh cranberry relish with oranges, raspberries, Grand Marnier , and if time allows my Mom's gooey apple dumpling goodies. My niece is doing a turkey for the first time, bless her heart.

Everyone have a wonderful Thanksgiving. When you are sitting around your table tomorrow, look around and count your blessings for family, loved ones, friends, food, shelter........ life.

I pray for God's blessings upon Dawn's family during this time of grieving.

I would LOVE your bread pudding recipe. I've never made it before but I really love it! And I'm a pie person, although I don't make/buy them very often. I have a recipe for a Berry pie that is REALLY good. And I make it with whatever berries I've frozen over the summer, blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries. And I love custardy stuff too, tapioca rice, rice pudding, YUM! But I don't really like raisins so I usually use dried cranberries instead.

Off to start cooking, going to the post office, getting blood drawn to check my hormones. FUN!

Courtney, I'd love to share a lemon meringue pie. Yum!

Nothing much going on here since we don't have Thanksgiving at our house. We usually go to my aunt's or grandma's place. My mom usually makes sapayo soup. Sapayo soup is made out of a squash and it's very tasty! We also bring drinks, the salad, and whatever else we need. My aunt's family buys two turkeys, one for the oven and one for the fryer and we also have ham. Yum! Can't wait.

I have to get the moola from my dad so I can take Jingles to get her vaccinations today then I'm going to scrub that pup. Supposedly she really likes water and I'm really hoping it's true! She needs to be sparkling clean and smell good since she's going with us to my aunt's house. It's going to be kind of tough because they just adopted two cats about a week ago. I don't know what they're temperament is but the Jingles' previous owner said she's okay with cats.

I put Jingles in her crate and I'm off for a nap! I've been rudely awakened not by Jingles but by my mom!

See ya later

Hi girls. All that food sounds yummy.
I hope everyone is having a great day.

Yay Capri for hot water!!!
Mel~ sounds like the party was great.

Cheryl- I had planned on going to Dawns celebration but this morning I had to cancel my flight.

So I have some bad news.
I had a miscarriage Monday night/ Tuesday morning. I lost a lot of blood. I had to have a D & C last night there was tissue stuck in my cervix and the pain was horrible. My hemoglobin was a 6. So I also got a blood transfusion.
This morning it was a 7 so I am now getting my 3rd bag of blood.
The pain has gone away with the help of my friend Demerol.

I hope everyone has a great day!
