Jen just had to say I see you are leaving tomorrow for DL and Univ. We leave on Sunday!! ;)

We are going to be up north on Sunday and Monday but will be at the parks on Tues and Wed then doing the WB studio tour and some other hollywood stuff on Thurs and Univ on Fri. Maybe I will see you there. :)

I'm off to work my last day before our trip and then I am taking the girls to see Brave tonight. We are all excited about that. Girls want to see the movie before they meet her next week. :)

We have a pretty busy summer too. After we get back it is of course the 4th and then the following week we have to drop off Katy's jam to the fair and I am still deciding if I want to go for the judging. We did it last year and it was fun to see and we are really hoping for a 1st place this year. For those that don't know she got 3rd last year but we learned a LOT this time and are hoping for a better result this time!! She is also baking this year instead of the pickles and so that part isn't till the LAST week and it turns out she has a cheer clinic on the same day so that is why I am thinking about taking her on the jelly day so she can at least enjoy some of the fair and see the judging since she will miss the other. We will then of course go BACK on the 25th to drop off the cakes and stay for the judging. Shelby is trying something this year as well.

Katy has two cheer clinics also in July and of course we are still majorly into swim right now. Last year we took our Oregon trip so I am a little sad that our Disney trip is the only one we are going to get this year but glad we at least get that one!! ;) We had SO much fun last year but this year there was NO way we could do anything else. The girls have champs and Meet of Champs for swim and then RIGHT after swim ends cheer starts. And of course school is starting here a whole week earlier than last year so we don't get much of August any more.

Oh and Katy has gotten into running since she did track last year so she is doing 5K's now. She has done 2 so far and has a couple she wants to do in the fall and we are hoping to do the DL one in Sept of 13.

Anyway that's my crazy summer. Sounds like some of you have a bunch of stuff planned as well.

Have a great weekend everyone and I will see you when I get back. :)

Why is it that my days are seeming to drag now? Although I need to get packing, so it may be a good thing. It just seems like it should be closer than 8 days! I wanna go now!

I have 2 weeks and I'm already planning what to wear....LOL I asked Cassidy to draw a couple of pictures, 1 of Constance and 1 Pirate themed, I want to see if we can maybe transfer them onto sweatshirts or tshirts for our trip. :) I will be concentrating on that next week. :) I leave for Reno today after work!! YAY! We may leave a little later than we planned, the new Toby Keith Bar & Grill is opening today, it was supposed to open last week but now it's opening today so we might stop on our way. We will see how it works out. I leave work at 3 tho so I won't be back until next week. :)

Good morning, ladies! TGIF!! So, who's going to see Brave today? popcorn::
I am really looking forward to this movie. I hope it's good. We'll probably wait a bit before seeing it. Let some of the crowds thin out.

OKay, so, much like the Energizer bunny the t-shirt discussion keeps going and going. :rotfl:

This is what I propose we stick with. As you read this, keep in mind it won't be perfect for everyone, but after much thought and consideration it's what I believe to be a fair compromise. And, as always, these shirt lists are only SUGGESTIONS. Frankly, you can wear a black mini-dress and fishnet stockings the entire time if that's what floats your boat.

Wednesday: This is the first official day of the trip. Yes, it is. Therefore, following with tradition, lime green is always worn the first official day. But Beth, you might be saying, not everyone can make it on Wednesday and they'll miss wearing their lime green. Well, I am very sorry about that. Truly, I am. But, it's one day. I'm sure it will be ok. Keep in mind, that even when it was on Thursday, not everyone could make it in that day either. Many would come in on Friday morning, or if they did arrive on Thursday, it was just in time to change for the Meet and Greet.

Thursday: This day we can always wear the previous trip shirt. (In the case of the upcoming 2013 trip, it will be the pink tees)
That way each group shirt is worn at least twice so it's beauty and the hard work that went into it, can be enjoyed on more than one occasion. Also by wearing it on day two, that gives Mel the chance to hand deliver them, or leave them waiting at a hotel room as opposed to having to mail them out ahead of time. So far, both days have shirts that are easy to spot for any newbies still arriving.

Friday: This day will be the new group tee. This one is a no brainer, and I believe the only day that's been easily agreed upon. It's the day of the big group photo, as well as the scavenger hunt. The new group tee is ALWAYS worn for those events.

Saturday: This day will be a "color day". Each year, we can pick a new color to use on this day. Switch it up a bit from year to year. For the upcoming 2013 trip, it's going to be grey. I understand the concern over the PFF photo possibly being dull, however I have to respectfully disagree with that. I think there are enough fun/cute gray shirts out there, in enough shades (50? lol) that it will look fine. (I've seen some cute Disney shirts in gray that I think are far from boring. So, there are options other than just a plain crew cut gray t-shirt if you keep an eye out. I already posted several on p. 190 that are currently for sale on Kohls and Target's website.)

Sunday: On this day, it's all up to you!! Freedom to choose what you want. Did you miss wearing lime green on Wednesday?? Wear it today! Do you love the purple castle tee, or the black pirate tee, or the white Tink tee, or even the aqua martini tee from years past? Wear it today! Do you love Snow White or Mickey or Stitch? Wear it today! Do you crafty Divas have a custom made tee that you put your own heart and soul into and haven't had the chance to show off yet? Wear it today! See, the theme here?
As for not matching, it's the last day. By now everyone should know who is who. And for photos, many are going home this day, so photo opportunities will be limited anyway. We have the big farewell breakfast in the morning and I think it will be fun to see what everyone decided to choose as their favorite Disney shirt.

Whew, I hope you all made it though my chatter and no one is hurt, angered, or seriously offended by what I've posted. In the end, it's just clothing we are talking about, and I did try to take everything I've read (and heard) into consideration. Hopefully this is a plan that we can work with for this one week a year that we are able to come together and have fun. :flower3:

I don't think it's a bad thing to have discussions about the trip. This discussion is just about the shirts.

I'll admit that I'm concerned about a day without a color as an underlying theme. I remember during the second year, when we all had colors for certain days, a certain fearless leader was too timid to approach someone that she *thought* might be part of the group (and that person was with Divas who were also wearing the color of the day) and that caused some hard feelings.

Not feeling comfortable approaching someone who is part of our group because we are unsure can happen with or without the appropriate color shirt. But, if wearing a certain color increases our chances of connecting with a Diva that we have just met, barely know, or who changed her hair color since the last trip, then I vote that every day has a color attached.

Trust me, after going to Disneyland last weekend, everyone (almost everyone!) has a Disney themed shirt on, and there were lots of groups of women enjoying the parks together.

Okay, in the theme of discussing, let me say that you shouldn't use me as an example. I am shy. Painfully shy especially when I am uncertain. I know you are talking about me not approaching Leslie because I wasn't sure it was her or not. Frankly, her wearing a different color shirt would not have changed that. My own shyness was the problem there, not her shirt color.

Case in point, on this last trip, Jessica and I sat across from each other for a good 25 minutes in the GCH lobby before I got the courage to speak up and ask if she was in fact Jessica. This was even after I saw the teal streak in her hair that she had posted on Facebook!! But, that was on day one. Everyone is timid on day one. Hence, the lime green on Wed and familiar pink on Thursday. :thumbsup2

By the end of the trip, on day five, I would hope that everyone no longer needs colors to recognize the group members. And we will all be meeting for breakfast first thing in the a.m., so we should be fine.

Also, I have heard over the years that people do miss wearing their favorite Disney shirts. We all have one. So, in my opinion, being a bit "mis-matched" the last day can be fun, and interesting. And, it's one less shirt for people to have to buy. (for example if we pick another color, then some people might not have that color and will have to go shopping yet again if they want to match) This way, it's a fun free for all! Even the controversial tie dye is welcome to come and play! :hippie: :rotfl:

Ok, that's my opinion on it. :)

We are going to stay in Waikiki and we're considering a splurge of one night at Aulani. Your trip looked really relaxing, our kids still need to be kept busy so we think it's a good place to say our first trip.

And thank you, things have calmed down at home and are back to normal. I wasn't willing to let in so easily:rolleyes:
Angie: are you renting a car? Coz' if so I have to tell you about the shrimp trucks . . . . . .

Just wanted to say that I think it is so cool that they are doing this. Even if they don't win ANYTHING it's a great experience (and not winning builds good character too about perseverence!)

In the end, it's just clothing we are talking about

WOMAN, ARE YOU NUTS???????? "just" clothing????????? that's like saying it's "just" hair, or "just" Magicale, or "just" em uh, a lot of things!

Seriously, I don't really care. Other than the new tee I have everything already so packing will be a snap. I'm just concerned that everyone won't know everyone else by day four and grey/gray shirts won't be easily picked out (not to mention dull, but I probably won't make the Princess pic anyway). Hmmmmm, Vicki we may need to resurrect the idea for the Woogio buttons . . . . . .

LOL
Oh no, I'd never say "just Magicale". ;) :rotfl:

I think by day four everyone will have an idea of who's who, even if they haven't had one on one conversations. And, on the note of buttons, keep in mind we will all still have matching lanyards and name tags. Those help a lot! For me, anyway. ::yes::

I think it all sounds good to me! I am not too picky really. Although I am thinking about making a Stitch shirt, since shirts with him are next to impossible to find. Just gotta figure out how I can get a graphic I make on photoshop onto a shirt.

Also...lanyards and name tags? This is new to me. Do I need to go out and get these?

No fears about lanyards and name tags. Previously Callie (Dangermouse)...or at least one of her family member's has designed the name tag and someone, Karylrks? has printed them up and provided the lanyards if you need one.

I have never helped because I am lazy and technologically not savvy, but someone in the group has always been super generous with their time and made up the tags for us. :)

"Could the one in tie dye move to the right a little?"

Sorry, that still cracks me up.

Beth, I think you have a WINNER!:thumbsup2

I like that Wednesday our first official day is still lime green. ::yes:: That has been tradition on every trip, and I believe it should stay that way. Not everyone will be here, but that has always been the case in the past.

I like that Thursday is pink day. It also gives me a chance to deliver in person, and hopefully sell some of my extras. Next year, I will take all of this into consideration. :flower3:

I love that Sunday is anything goes day also. I love that I can wear any one of my favorite Disney shirts. :goodvibes We should all know each other by this time. Also, most of us will be gone by the morning. If you think about it, how many of you were still here on Monday last year? Not very many. Most of you had left on flights and so forth in the morning. So we need to think about it those terms.

Saturday, color chosen for that year is totally fine. :thumbsup2

Beth knows that I have a different preference for one of these days, :rolleyes1 and I am sure she has heard from many of you about what you would like. But I know that not everyone can be happy. We have to give and take. So I'm hoping that after all our discussions, all of us can be happy with what is chosen. :grouphug:

As a newbie I hate to be the first to reply but Beth it sounds great to me! :goodvibes
Thanks! Newbie or not, you definitely have a right to share your thoughts, but I'm glad you are good with it. :)

A Stitch shirt would be cute. I'm sure some of the ladies on this thread can help with any questions you have. They are so crafty!

I see Amy already answered about the lanyards and name tags. She's right, we always have matching name tags, usually tied in with the shirts in some way. It does help not only recognize members of the group, but also in remembering names.

"Could the one in tie dye move to the right a little?"

Me, too. :rotfl: I wonder how dumb that CM felt afterward... :rolleyes1

Beth, I think you have a WINNER!:thumbsup2

Oh, good. I was hoping you'd say that. I do realize it's not ideal, but I think it's fair, which is sometimes the best you can hope for.
Like you said before, this is really silly. The whole trip is just about hanging out with friends and having fun. Group tees and matching colors were added later as fun extras.

I can see it now, I will be at DL during the trip and I will have lost my touring group due to one of my many stops at the restroom. (Hey--I like to keep hydrated, it is a good thing).

What will I do, I will see a group of women in grey...and think...I bet I know them!!!!

And if they are not DIVAS, what the heck, maybe I can convert them for 2014. Unlike Beth, I am not shy, and will talk to anyone.

I would like to apologize for a previous post where I griped about the discussion still going on. I was taken to task for it. I did not intend to indicate that I thought people were "raging". I just meant that the debate/discussion was no closer to resolution than it had been the last I had checked a week or so ago.

I have some stuff going on in my life that is seriously not good, so came to the thread to lighten my heart.

It wasn't lightened. I was disappointed. I commented. I am impatient, likely my biggest fault, and it showed.

I am sorry.

Go on with your regular programming.

Okay, AmyWhoPlaysBetterWithOthersThanSheThinksAndAlwaysMakesMeLaughOkraSue,

You are definitely not shy. I want to be you when I grow up. And feel free to convert as many as you can! Just not more men dressed as women, we only need one Wendall. :thumbsup2 Otherwise, go for it!

As for your prior post, I'm sorry someone took you "to task". I understood what you meant. :confused3 Similar to my Energizer bunny remark. It was dragging on and on a bit.... :rolleyes1 Which is fine, except that we were getting no where, and weren't going to get anywhere either at that rate.

Hopefully we've reached an acceptable solution! (knock on wood) And we can get this thread back to fun and games! Well, maybe not games, but something more interesting than shirts. ;)

As for the stuff going on with you that's not so good, I am sorry to hear that. :guilty: I hope things turn around for you soon!

Thanks Beth---but obviously my post was/could be misconstrued.....and likely by more than one, so

my apology stands.

And a word of caution, if you are me when you grow up, you are gonna have frizzy hair. Just sayin'.

Whew, I hope you all made it though my chatter and no one is hurt, angered, or seriously offended by what I've posted. I vote for the black minidress and fishnets (boy, can you tell you live in Vegas, baby...........) :rolleyes1 JUST KIDDING!! It looks fine to me and I'm actually excited about the grey. It will give my pale body a break from all the bright colors (and it's not going to be dull, oh no it's not!!)

While not having one color for the last day is not my first choice, I still think it's absolutely fine and doable. Like I said before - it's the last day and everyone should know at least a few peeps by then, so it should be just fine.

Now, if you wanted to change that day to tie dye, I'd have to agree that would be THE MOST sensible option ever. Seriously. :hippie:

Not feeling comfortable approaching someone who is part of our group because we are unsure can happen with or without the appropriate color shirt. But, if wearing a certain color increases our chances of connecting with a Diva that we have just met, barely know, or who changed her hair color since the last trip, then I vote that every day has a color attached.

Puhleeze - not recognize someone because they have a different hair color from the last trip......... the first trip I was on, I buddied around with some peeps most of the day and someone (cough * Heather * cough) didn't recognize me that EVENING because I changed my hairstyle. Not sure the color of my shirt would have changed that ;)

In all seriousness though - I think this would be more of an issue for the first day or so of the trip and should not really be a problem for the last day.

WOMAN, ARE YOU NUTS???????? .

Why yes, yes she is :thumbsup2

I think it all sounds good to me! I am not too picky really. Although I am thinking about making a Stitch shirt, since shirts with him are next to impossible to find. Just gotta figure out how I can get a graphic I make on photoshop onto a shirt.

If it's a graphic you make up yourself, you can get iron on transfer paper and use that to make a t-shirt. It's pretty easy to do. If you're just looking for a Stitch shirt, you can order them through Zazzle.com - really cute!

AmyWhoApparentlyReallyDoesNotPlayWellWIthOthersOkraSue

Amy - I hope everything is okay and no worries..... I know it's a bit shocking, but I too can be a bit impatient (and I don't always play well with others :rotfl:) But I luvs you (I just won't be on your scavvy hunt team ;) )

Theresa (*****allythinkseverythingcouldbesettledwithtiedyeandtiaras....)

And a word of caution, if you are me when you grow up, you are gonna have frizzy hair. Just sayin'.
Well, at least I'd have hair. Mine appears to be falling out! :scared1:

I vote for the black minidress and fishnets (boy, can you tell you live in Vegas, baby...........) :rolleyes1 JUST KIDDING!!
What does Vegas have to do with it? :confused3 I just went with what I usually see you wearing and thought it would be most comfortable... :confused3

Ha ha - I got censored for my "who really" with no spaces. Silly DIS!!

:lmao:
