Morning!! :)

Speaking of which, I never got a shirt last year:( Any chance of getting one now???

Hi Tracey. Just PM Mel. (Melody/tinkermell for any of the new ladies who want a shirt)
Last year she ordered a few extras. Not sure how many though or what sizes, so it's first come, first serve if you want one. :thumbsup2

Have a great day everyone!! :sunny:

Soarin' through the stars and over the beaches? Soaring through the stars and racing across the sand?

12more days!!! I really want to start packing haha. Is it too early?!

I am so far behind on this thread!!

I hope everyone is well and life is being good to you. I'm having fun during my adventures in dating . On Sunday we got up early and cruised up to the mountains and did a hike. Then we took the kids fishing at the Bass Pro shop and my sister watched Laila for the evening while we went out to eat and to see Prometheus. We've built up a great connection and things are going swell.

Beth, my purple tee is still pretty nice. I've only worn it twice, and I was super careful washing it. There was quite a few ladies last year that wore them for the first time. It would be nice to let them wear them again.

I agree. I love the purple color tee and mine is still in good condition since I only wore it during the 2 trips.

Ahhhh, I see now. So it's PCH, Fly and Star. Hmmm. My brain is too tired tonight to think about this. :rotfl2:

Don't worry about it Beth. I'm on the committee and know the theme and a couple of the clues have me confuzzled  .

First, I have to say I LOVE your updates on Facebook. It's nice to see you so happy. :goodvibes And I am glad it's going well. You deserve this my friend!

Second....more clues!! :yay:

Okay, so far the scavenger hunt committee members have given the following clues in their posts:
Star
Fly
Pacific Coast Highway
Adventures
Cruised

Anyone? Any ideas? Where's Laurie? She's the one who figured it out last time... :rotfl:

:scared: The pressure!!! :rotfl2:

I'm thinking from all the clues, so far, that the hunt is gonna be based heavily in DCA. Cruise Route 66, adventure onto Buena Vista St to see the stars, fly into Condor Flatts and enjoy the pier off PCH. That's just what I'm coming up with.

My vote for shirt color is blue. As far as any other colors I'll go with the majority, after all it's only wearing each color for 1 day. :)

As for the scavenger hunt theme, I'm with Laurie that it will be in CA and has to do with exploring the state.

I hope you all are doing well.

Things are going good here. Kids are enjoying summer vacation, wish I could take the time off with them. I've been on night shift for a bit but I go back to days tomorrow for a class that is a month long.

Take care, talk to you all soon.

Sign ups for the Tinker Bell Half Marathon opened up today! This is a really fun race and there's plenty of time to train. It would make a perfect first Half Marathon! It's actually my favorite Half that I have run. This will make Half #7. :cool1:

I am good with blue, black or brown. I'm easy, remember?

I'm also sunburnt after waiting an hour in line yesterday for the dill pickle popcorn at Carsland!

How was the popcorn?

I'm going to chime in my 2 cents worth on the t-shirt issue - and yes, I've said it before so you can take it for what it's worth or not..... but I'm not a fan of reusing the shirts. Yes, they are really cute and I love them. I love them so much I ordered the past 2 years and I didn't even go on the trips!! That's without seeing them before hand either........ I know Melody does a fabulous job on them.

But the annual trip shirt was always meant to be just that - the annual girls trip shirt. Not reused on subsequent trips. I have all my shirts hanging in my closet as souvenirs. I love all of them, but don't want to use them again. I want to get the new one every year, yes. But I think just wearing matching colors/shades (tie dye????) the other days is easiest for everyone.

If there are new peeps (which there are), they then have to order past year's shirts to match or do their own shirt and not match with the group. One shirt is not much - 2 or 3??? One year we did have two trip shirts and we decided to go back to only one because of the expense (yes, that was the tie dye year :rolleyes1 )What if someone gains a lot of weight and doesn't fit the shirt from a couple of years ago now?? Awkward! Or what if someone miraculously loses a bunch of weight and is swimming in the previous year's shirt??

The whole idea was to every year have a shirt for the trip that everyone has as a souvenir for that year.

Oh and for the new shirts - I like brown, black, or blue!!

I agree for part of this. I really like last years shirt design, so I would like to order one of those, and of course this years shirt I will order, but previous years I will have to just find a matching colour I think. Hopefully I can find the right ones. :)

Exactly what I was thinking. :rolleyes1 I definitely concur. ;)

If it's in DCA, I think it should be required that everyone in the hunt has to ride Grizzly River Rapids... mwuahahahahaha :stir:

I like blue, too! I'm hoping the new group tee is in a shade of blue.
:scared1:  :sad2: :sad1: (Why are all the blue smileys scared, annoyed or sad?) :rotfl:

Go Sarah!! :cheer2: You are my running hero!
Actually I know you aren't on FB, but Jane just posted that she and a friend signed up for the Tink half. So, you'll definitely see some Divas there.

I agree with this. I love the shirts, for me that's not the issue. I just like having a new group tee each year and then wearing colored tees the rest of the time.
I just think if I was new to a group, already feeling nervous, but wanting to fit in and participate as much as possible, I'd want to wear whatever the group was wearing. If that meant going to Walmart or Target and buying a lime green, or red, or whatever color $5 tee, then yes, I'd be happy to do that.

If however, it meant buying 3 group tees at the cost of $60 or so, then that's a bit more daunting to me. Maybe because our family is on a single income so I'm on more of a budget? :confused3 Maybe I am over thinking this and the new ladies don't mind spending $$ or just wearing a solid color? :confused3 Maybe this just isn't a big deal and we can say wear the purple castle tee if you want, or wear a solid purple tee if you don't want or don't have the other. :confused3

A big deal for me is group photos. I love the group pics, but I like them to look different from year to year. For example, last trip we wore the purple castle tees for the PFF photo. So, if we do end up using those tees again, can it at least be on a day where we aren't doing a big photo like that. Does that make sense?

I didn't even think of the weight gain/loss factor, although I suppose that could be an issue for some. (I've gained but luckily the shirt stretches. :rolleyes1 )

Everyone here knows that I try not to be argumentative. Ever. From day one I have always gone with what the group wants and will continue to do so.
I already have both tees, although my purple one needs repair work, so either way it doesn't matter to me. I just wanted to try and speak for all sides. Hopefully more ladies, both returning and new, will chime in so we can get more of a consensus. ::yes:: After all, we've only heard from a few and there are...what? 58 of us? lol

In the end, this shouldn't be a big deal. :goodvibes We are there to have fun! We can make it easy on everyone and go topless. :rolleyes1

Hello everyone.

I have loved all the pictures on FB of Carsland. I do hope to get there sometime and check it out myself. Looks fabulous!!!

I cannot believe you all are already talking Tshirt colors...isn't it just June? I am relieved you are not thinking pink again, though. ***whew**** Not wanting to revisit THAT color. ;) But into each life a not favorite color most fall. I did try to "rock" it.

Tie Dye is a perenial favorite, I am totally with Theresa on that one. It was funny seeing a gang of us clashing alarmingly storming the parks. Who can forgett he Photo pass photographer's line, "Could the woman in tie dye move to the right?". Um, there are 35 of us...which one?

I do wish we would not have the same debate each year about reuse/do not reuse the previous years' shirts. It goes around and around and around and back and forth and the same arguements are provided on both sides. Some people seem to get quite heated about it. Perhaps not, perhaps it is just the written word, but the debate seems endless and kind of pointless to me. Maybe I am just tired today.

Not that I have any say in the matter of which we do, use, not use or argue not argue. :):lmao:

I just read the round robin circle arguement/discussion each year and think, "oh here we go again".

However. I will wear any color that is chosen. If I have the shirt, I will wear it. If I do not, I will wear a polo that is of the color and smile.

Okay. I vented my spleen and feel better. Please go back to your origional programming.

I will likely regret posting this. I usually delete prior to posting these kind of missives. But what the heck. Love and light all.

As a new diva I'll chime in here but I'm speaking only for myself. I already bought a lime green shirt from Target ... I would suggest that anyone who needs one check it out .... lime green may be much harder to find in the winter. I sent a pm to Melody and she has a pink shirt from last year that I put dibs on. If you returning ladies decide to wear your purple shirts then I'll just wear a solid purple one .... from Target or somewhere. I'm really easy and will go along with whatever the group wants. Now to confess what really has me nervous is what to wear to the Meet n Greet! :scared1:

Yay! Earl said I could sign up. This will make Half #8 or 9 for me, depending on if you count the Tough Mudder pirate: I will have to wait until after the vacation to sign up though so I make sure we have enough funds to get us through that week. You never know what emergencies or amazing things will come up!

The boys finish school today ...I don't know if I should be happy to not have to wake early and drive them to school or anxious because they will fight all summer :rotfl:

As for the shirts, I do not care either way if we re-use shirts. I can see how for new Diva's this can be costly though. We could always just get those tourist shirts with the body wearing a bikini....easy peasy!

Oops. I just reread my posting. And, boy howdy things do come out harsher and more angry than they are intended. I think I needed a more liberal sprinkling of:banana: and:lmao: to lighten the mood.

I truly just meant we should make it standard and stick with it so the debate does not go on each year. Perhaps. Oops. and:lmao: and a :cool1:.

Better?:)

Holy Moly:laughing:

Hostility not intended. And I have way tons of lime green. In fact, Steph gave me her incredibly neon lime green tshirt she bought last year for Thursday since she determined it was a wee too....er...spectacular..and that she would likely (okay never ever ever unless the little devils began ice skating) wear it.

I wore it Saturday. I think I glowed in the dark. I. Love. It.

I think if I was King of the Forest, I would pick Lime Green for every day and totally skip Tie Dye. (sorry T).

I agree!! With the here we go again part.

We really need to decide what we are going to do and stick with it.

Options:

1. No reusing of shirts. One new group shirt each year, wear it proudly, save it as a special souvenir/reminder of that trip.

2. Reuse a shirt, but only one shirt, which would be from the trip prior.
This year (2012) we wore the purple castle tee, which was the group shirt from 2011. And we had a shiny new pink tee. Based on this option, next year in 2013 we'd wear the pink tee again, and a shiny new (blue?) group tee. Then in 2014 we'd wear the blue tee and another new one. And so on and so forth carrying over one shirt each year. That way each group shirt is used at least twice, and yet any newbies won't have so much to buy.
(I won't lie, I like this option because each shirt gets used twice so we get our moneys worth, and yet it's not such a hardship on the new ladies who we always get each year. JMO.)

3. Keep reusing the shirts yearly, starting with the purple castle tee, the pink tee, this years tee, and adding until we end up with enough custom made shirts to wear each day of the trip each year. (Problem with this option is how do we decide when to stop, which shirts to keep including, kwim?)

As I've already said, I personally do not care which option or what we end up doing. I can wear any shirt or color for a day.
I just would like it to be a done deal so that we don't end up with the same discussion every year. We'd already know what to expect.
Like Amy, I am tired (late night :rolleyes1 ) so I'm not sure if I am making any sense here... :upsidedow

Oh, and the comment from the photographer to the lady in tie dye....funniest EVER! :lmao:

:lmao: That would be the only bikini going on this bod!

Glad Earl said ok to the Tink half!! You marathon runners amaze me!! :cheer2:

I vote for a combination of these. :goodvibes How about if we use last years shirt again, and have the COLOR of the year before for one of our days. That way if someone wants to wear their purple Castle shirt they can, if not, we can just wear a purple shirt. Everyone would be covered for purple day. Next year, we can have a pink day, and if we want to wear our pink DisDiva sign shirt we can, if not just a pink shirt will do. Is that enough of a compromise?
So, we would have Lime green for the first day, then a purple day, a pink shirt day, a new shirt day. Now we only need one additional color. :) If we make the color for the last day always the same, all of our color discussions are mercifully over. :goodvibes
