As a new diva I'll chime in here but I'm speaking only for myself. I already bought a lime green shirt from Target ... I would suggest that anyone who needs one check it out .... lime green may be much harder to find in the winter. I sent a pm to Melody and she has a pink shirt from last year that I put dibs on. If you returning ladies decide to wear your purple shirts then I'll just wear a solid purple one .... from Target or somewhere. I'm really easy and will go along with whatever the group wants. Now to confess what really has me nervous is what to wear to the Meet n Greet!

Thanks for the info on the lime green tees at Target. I agree, it's definitely harder to find certain colors at certain times of the year. So, if you know what color you need, and you see a cute one, grab it. I learned that the hard way one year when there was no lime green to be found!

Don't worry about the Meet and Greet. Google redneck or hillbilly clothing images and you'll get an eye full.

I truly just meant we should make it standard and stick with it so the debate does not go on each year.

I vote for a combination of these. How about if we use last years shirt again, and have the COLOR of the year before for one of our days. That way if someone wants to wear their purple Castle shirt they can, if not, we can just wear a purple shirt. Everyone would be covered for purple day. Next year, we can have a pink day, and if we want to wear our pink DisDiva sign shirt we can, if not just a pink shirt will do. Is that enough of a compromise?
So, we would have Lime green for the first day, then a purple day, a pink shirt day, a new shirt day. Now we only need one additional color. If we make the color for the last day always the same, all of our color discussions are mercifully over.

That's what I was thinking. I mean, for gals that don't have the printed shirt from the previous year(s) or who want to keep theirs in good condition, or who don't want to wear it for whatever reason, it's not hard to get even the same blank shirt to wear so the color would match or to find a plain T in a really close color.

I like your willingness to come up with a sensible solution, Chris. But I fear that this results in PINK being on the list for three years if I understand your scheme. I do not think I can totally get behind that. Sigh. Pink, is my least least least least least least least least least least favorite color ever......really. I looked like a red faced strawberry farmer, I did. AND I ordered it one size too big so I have billows of extra PINK fabric swinging about me.

Anyway, I don't really know what to say. It just seems like this whole thing shouldn't be so confusing or such an issue. I'm tired so probably not in the best frame of mind to be, well, thinking. lol

I just want an agreeable solution, whatever that may be, so this doesn't come up year after year. I don't like arguing. (or even intensely discussing)

Beth, my purple tee is still pretty nice. I've only worn it twice, and I was super careful washing it. There was quite a few ladies last year that wore them for the first time. It would be nice to let them wear them again. If you or anyone else needs a rhinestone fix, i'd be more than happy to fix them. I guess what I am trying to say is that I would like to wear it again. That also saves on buying two more tees, verses just one.

I've also had requests for hoodies made in last years design. I'm thinking navy or black to make it work. Not even sure how much it will be, but wanted to throw that out there to see how many would be interested. You all might even be able to send me one that you like, and then have it printed.

I could go for a hoodie.....I love hoodies, and black goes with everything!

I agree!! With the here we go again part.

We really need to decide what we are going to do and stick with it.

Options:

1. No reusing of shirts. One new group shirt each year, wear it proudly, save it as a special souvenir/reminder of that trip.

2. Reuse a shirt, but only one shirt, which would be from the trip prior.
This year (2012) we wore the purple castle tee, which was the group shirt from 2011. And we had a shiny new pink tee. Based on this option, next year in 2013 we'd wear the pink tee again, and a shiny new (blue?) group tee. Then in 2014 we'd wear the blue tee and another new one. And so on and so forth carrying over one shirt each year. That way each group shirt is used at least twice, and yet any newbies won't have so much to buy.
(I won't lie, I like this option because each shirt gets used twice so we get our moneys worth, and yet it's not such a hardship on the new ladies who we always get each year. JMO.)

3. Keep reusing the shirts yearly, starting with the purple castle tee, the pink tee, this years tee, and adding until we end up with enough custom made shirts to wear each day of the trip each year. (Problem with this option is how do we decide when to stop, which shirts to keep including, kwim?)




As I've already said, I personally do not care which option or what we end up doing. I can wear any shirt or color for a day.
I just would like it to be a done deal so that we don't end up with the same discussion every year. We'd already know what to expect.
Like Amy, I am tired (late night ) so I'm not sure if I am making any sense here...

Pink isn't my favorite either but I'll wear it.

So here's my feeling, as a new Diva.
I like the idea of wearing last years and this years shirts, reuse the old one so you get more than 1 use out of it. I also like the idea of matching colors, I will have no problems with that at all. I have plenty of colors to chose from and if I don't have the right color I'll go buy one, we have plenty of stores around here that have shirts for $5. As a group it makes us feel more cohesive, and we will definitely get noticed! I definitely think we should do lime green simply because it's the Dis color, we should recognize that. So basically, I think we should wear lime green, the pink shirt from last year and whatever we come with for this year. I'm also onboard for buying a hoodie. So, that's my opinion on shirts

Now, for the scavenger hunt, I definitely think it will be DCA based. The clues are great, are we supposed to be guessing where it's going to be based on those clues?

So.....in my personal life, I am now teaching on Sunday & Monday nights, I was also offered the chance to teach Friday and Saturday nights....I'm hesitant because that's a lot of dances to teach (I need 4 new ones each night) and it's a lot of nights to be working at the bar.....but I'm excited because it is the chance to earn $100 a week extra money.....wwyd???

Amy, you've miscalculated. If we do it this way, you will only have pink for this year & next year. (It's already a given for this year, I believe). And remember, we get lime green every year for opening day, so you start off looking mah-veh-lous, dahling.

I was just trying to come up with a rotation that would make wardrobe choices (except for the new shirt) super easy.
I propose: Lime green, the Color (or shirt) from 2 years ago, the trip shirt from last year, the New trip shirt, shirt for the last day. If we always made the last day a set color (or *gasp* tie dyed) then our only decision would be our new shirt. Easy peasy. Or at least not so complicated.

But you're right. It's only June. We have 8 months to figure it all out.

See, I hate pink but it's been on the list for both trips I attended and as far as helping us spot each other in a crowd it is the perfect shirt color. And we've done a bright pink both years. My first year when I was really nervous about approaching everyone it helped to know who everyone was because the shirt color was so distinct from what everyone in the park was wearing. Other colors stand out as well, but I think so far the pink draws your eye the most. That is the only reason I will gladly wear pink, lol.

Now, as for the scavvy hunt clues ... all but 2 of them have me completely confused and I know the theme. I am going to refrain from posting clues because I have no idea where they are going with them.

I like this idea the best so far. I think it makes good use out of all the shirts and it streamlines the decision making process for each year.

I cannot make it until Thursday and LIME green is my favorite EVER.

That settles it, I am with Theresa. It is tie dye everyday. For certain!!!

Yay! Earl said I could sign up. This will make Half #8 or 9 for me, depending on if you count the Tough Mudder I will have to wait until after the vacation to sign up though so I make sure we have enough funds to get us through that week. You never know what emergencies or amazing things will come up!

The boys finish school today ...I don't know if I should be happy to not have to wake early and drive them to school or anxious because they will fight all summer

As for the shirts, I do not care either way if we re-use shirts. I can see how for new Diva's this can be costly though. We could always just get those tourist shirts with the body wearing a bikini....easy peasy!

The tough Mudder is 13 miles?!?! Yikes! I was tired after the 5K Mud run I did in April. I've got another Mud Run next month but it;s also only 3.1 miles.

Haha, well I would prefer to keep lime green on Thursday too because it's when most of the ladies get in, and it's tradition.

As far as my shirt color opinions.........

I guess we should just go with using the previous years shirt plus the new shirt for the year. I'd just hate to have a closet full of shirts that I may never wear again. I'm anti pack rat so I don't like to hold on to stuff that I don't actually use or wear.
