I like saving money, too! I just don't think I could do more than 3 to a room. I have to shower in the morning or I don't feel like I am fully awake.

As for the padlock, you definitely don't have teens! LOL They will always find a way in... :lmao:

Sometimes it feels like I do haha...They never stop telling me that they are hungry. Well, at least until I fill their plates with veggies, then it's, "Mom, I'm fuuuuuuuuuuulllllllllllllllllllllllllll!"

I'm so mad at my body/immune system right now..just over a week to vacation and what happens..I get flipping sick. Arrrgh..working in the hotel industry mixed with bad immune system and long hours = not so happy times for Rose

I'm looking on the bright side that I do have 3 days off this week - and I think i'll need them. Might be taking a trip to the doctor tomorrow to make sure i'm healthy by my trip.

I hope everyone else is doing well. I'll post more this week hopefully.

Well.....tonight's menu is less impressive to me. :rolleyes1 LOL
I don't like squash and I don't eat pork. I basically have the taste buds of a 10 year old. Pizza, burgers, chicken, tacos. LOL I don't eat any steak, pork, lamb, veal, duck, seafood, or anything else weird. I also don't drink, as you know, so I always tease Ruben that he's lucky I am such a cheap date. :rotfl:
For dinner here tonight, it's enchiladas. Easy peasy and something the whole family will eat. Plus I just love Mexican food! So bad for you (depending on how it's prepared), but so good.

I can't wait to follow along with you on your WDW holiday trip! But for now, all that planning sounds exhausting!

LOL! I'm not an incredibly adventurous eater. Basic piece of grilled meat works for me. Get into fancy sauces and you lose me. Mexican food is not my friend. I'm allergic to cooked peppers. Not like anaphylactic, but to say they don't "sit well" is a mild understatement. LOL

Today's flight booking was, indeed, an ODYSSEY. Ugh. Here is my tale.....

So the alarm goes off at 3:40AM. I hit the snooze and get out of bed at 3:45 and turn on the computer. 3:49 it's all logged on and ready to go. Toodle over to the Southwest site, figuring it will be another 8 minutes before they put the new schedule up.... Oh, no! It's already up! ADRENALINE TIME! LOL So, I log into my Rapid Rewards and go to book reward travel. THE DATE I'M FLYING OUT IS BLACKED OUT! Argh!!!!!! So I switch to one way and book my flight back from Orlando on Dec 1. Done. By now, I'm WIDE AWAKE. So I go to look at flight cost for the 24th of November - $470. Um, no. Not gonna work. Look at the "my dates are flexible" calendar. The prior day (Day after Thanksgiving) is available for reward booking! Sweet! ONE flight is available. I'LL TAKE IT!

So, my WDW vacation is going to start a day earlier. Hubby is not amused, but oh well. Now, what to do about a place to stay that first night before I can check into Bonnet Creek. Hm. I have a friend who lives about 40 minutes from WDW. I know if I got truly desperate I could crash on her couch, so I wasn't too concerned. Oooo. Lightbulb moment (which is pretty impressive for 4:10AM, if I do say so myself!) - let's look and see what it would cost to stay that one night ON PROPERTY..... Value resorts.... Art Of Animation.... $139 plus tax. Hm. Pop Century.... $134. All Stars Movies... $129. Wonder what the going rate is for Holiday Inn the same night.... clicky clicky..... $109. Um, NO BRAINER! So I am booked at Art of Animation on Friday November 23 for one night. Which also means I get to use Magic Express for my ride to the World. YAY! Unfortunately, my flight gets in late enough that I won't get to take advantage of the luggage service, but that's OK.

So Saturday morning I will get up, check out, leave my bags with the bell desk and take Disney Transportation to the TTC and spend the day checking out the Holiday decor at some of the resorts (which I had planned to do a little of each day of my stay, but this will give me more "park time" - SCORE!). I also managed to book a 4:30PM dinner at 'Ohana. Yay me! After dinner I'll monorail back to the TTC and get on the bus back to AoA, get my bags and get a cab over to Bonnet Creek and check in there. *phew* I'm tired already! LOL

So now my planning is done until they (a) open up dining reservations for the restaurants that are completely blacked out right now until they figure out the Candlelight Processional dining packages; (b) start selling the Candlelight Processional Dining packages (sometime in July, probably); or (c) start putting out firm dates (and taking ADRs) for the opening of Be Our Guest and the new Fantasyland expansion which will, undoubtedly, cause everyone and their brother with a vacation within 180 days to crash the ADR system trying to get a ressie there. LOL I've got a couple of ADRs that I will need to cancel, but I'm going to wait a while to do that - probably until September or so. I will also need to add a day to my park ticket, but that will only cost $10.

And I wish I could go back to bed, but I know I wouldn't be able to sleep - it's too light out and I'm just too wired. LOL Gonna be a L*O*N*G day!

Rose - sorry you got sick! If if it any consolation, a few friends who have gotten what is going around were over it in a few days. Rest up for your vacation.

Lisa - WOW! I'm tired just reading your post! :) But hey, another day of Disney is always good!!

Happy Monday everyone!

Good morning, ladies! Happy Monday! (how's that for sarcasm... lol)

Sometimes it feels like I do haha...They never stop telling me that they are hungry. Well, at least until I fill their plates with veggies, then it's, "Mom, I'm fuuuuuuuuuuulllllllllllllllllllllllllll!"
:lmao: Funny how that happens, isn't it?

Oh no, that is always my biggest fear. With a family of 6, the odds are sometimes against us, and I worry that one or more will end up sick just before vacation. It's happened before and it sucks!

I hope you are better soon. I don't know what your symptoms are, but take some Airborne, Emergen-C, and Target brand Zinc dissolving tablets. Those help me. Plus lots of liquids. And rest, if and when you can. Also try some Oscillococcinum.
Good luck. I hope you are better soon! :wizard:

Thought I'd just pop in and say hello!
HI, Cristabel! Good to see you here. :goodvibes

Today's flight booking was, indeed, an ODYSSEY. Ugh. Here is my tale.....

Oh....sure, the flight was blacked out....just HAD to add an extra Disney day.... I got it. ;) (wink, wink) :thumbsup2

LOL Glad it all worked out. I want you to go to Be Our Guest so you can tell me all about it!! That's one place I might actually get on a plane to go to.
That's cool you'll get to try the new AoA resort. I've seen the photos online and it looks really cute.

Thanks for posting .... my hillbilly name is Leanne Lou Houston.

Wow! Good job with your reservations! I always love adding a day or two! :rotfl2: I'm planning a trip next year in early Dec with some friends. I just love all the holiday decorations! Please post a review of Be Our Guest .... can't wait to eat there. Doesn't your trip seem more real now? Once I book airfare then I know I'm going .... SW is so easy to cancel but it still makes it all more real! Have fun planning!

Ya, it's rainy and cold...me no likey! After having 90 degree days Thursday and Friday this really bites. But maybe that means I can wear jeans to job #2 tonight, instead of shorts or a sundress.....

I had a good weekend, Saturday Micah and I ran a few errands, yesterday I had a hair appt at 2 and I have been having problems with my cell phone so I took it back to the place I bought it. They had to do a factory reset, that SUCKED! I lost everything that wasn't on my SD card! :( So annoying, honestly, I can't wait to get rid of this phone!!! I can upgrade in October, but I had thought to maybe use that upgrade for Micah (I used his on the phone I have now), now I don't know what to do. I might start looking on eBay for a "new" phone for me. :( So did that, went into Old Navy to look at sundresses, didn't find much, grabbed some Taco Bell and headed to my hair appt. Got my hair did and then went to Burlington Coat Factory to look for dresses, they had a few but not much in my size. *sigh* this dress hunt is getting annoying......stopped at the grocery store on my way home, grabbed a tri tip, burgers and sausages to BBQ and headed home. Got home and started to prep food, (it was 6 already!), Micah BBQ'd the meat, I made a pan of sauteed veggies and some coleslaw mix I had picked up, I'm not a huge fan of most slaw dressings so instead of using the packaged dressing I used my homemade balsamic, it was really good. :) I have the leftovers of salad for my lunch today.

Tonight I have to go home and find Cassidy's birth certificate and SS card, she has her drivers permit test tomorrow!!!!!! OMG, so not ready for this! LOL She will do great, I have no doubt of that, and then she can help me drive when we go to DL next month. :) Ya, so not overly excited about that.....LOL But on the other hand I am.

They are done with school this week I think, then Cassidy has summer school for the rest of June, its a 2 week summer school, which doesn't sound all that great to me but whatever. If she does summer school she will get a pass in the class, if not she has to do it again next year and she might fail again, I know she did poorly in the first part of the year in this class but she improved a lot in the second part so I have no doubt the summer school is simply a formality. The challenge will be getting her there and home, I'm going to start coming into work at 7-7:30 every day instead of 8 so I may have to have her ride her bike. Especially since ss is out at noon and I only have a 30 minute lunch. It may just be easier to do the bike thing.

I'm probably not going to have a job in a couple of months so I'm looking for something new. Wish me luck!!

Good morning everyone!
I had so much fun Sat. at the Mad T Party. It was fun hanging out with Katie, Mel and Jess. I really liked the T Party, good music, I was not a fan of Electronica.
I checked out Ghirardelli and the sundaes looked wonderful! Got my free candy sample and went back later for another.
As for candy being sold there, not a whole lot. Mostly these. I forgot to check the price but I'm sure it's way more than what I can get it for at Walmart.

Hey, mine was Sandra Dee Houston. Hiya, sis!

Can I just say UGH!! It is raining her in NorCal?? Really - it is June!
And can I just say.......I'm jealous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :sad2: I actually enjoy living in Las Vegas, lots to do, our neighborhood is really nice, but this heat is just something no human should have to live in.

I don't know how Stacie and Heather do it, they are usually hotter over in AZ!

I'm probably not going to have a job in a couple of months so I'm looking for something new. Wish me luck!!
Good luck!! :wizard:
Sorry about the phone issues. That sucks. Best of luck to Cassidy. Adam has his learner's permit, but so far he's not doing much driving. I am okay with that. Driving in Las Vegas is so different than driving in just about anywhere else I've lived, including L.A.! People are just idiots out here.

Hi, Trudi! Glad you had fun. Wish I could've been there!
As I was looking at your Ghirardelli pic, I remembered we have one here on the Strip. I totally forgot that. The last time I was there was maybe two years ago. I think I was with Angie, Theresa and Marcie. I do remember their sundaes are very good. Guess I need to play tourist in my own neck of the woods more often. :upsidedow Yay for free samples......twice! :thumbsup2

OMG I'm dying over the crotch shot(s)......too funny!!!!!!

Do they do ice cream at the Ghiradelli shop? I mean I assume so, the photo shows waffle cones....LOL And please, tell me more about the free candy sample......

That poor guy's crotch is going to be plastered all over the DIS and Facebook before long. :rolleyes1

Already plastered on Facebook and Tumblr. I just really, really, really love that belt. It's so shiny. My cousin wants to try and make something similar to it now that she's seen the photos.

And might I just add that I do, in fact, know how to take photos of the Mad Hatter that aren't crotch shots, lol.

I think next time I go I should leave the camera at home though. I end up with 600-900 photos that I have to go through and it's interfering with my sleep! I just have a hard time not taking photos sometimes.

And can I just say.......I'm jealous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I actually enjoy living in Las Vegas, lots to do, our neighborhood is really nice, but this heat is just something no human should have to live in.

I'm going to be in Vegas the week of July 9th for a sisters week (yeah!!!, love my sisters), but I'm not looking forward to the heat. We don't gamble at all but plan on sitting at the pool all day and seeing shows at night. Will we survive?

I'm trying to get to DLR several times this month before I'm blocked out for the summer. I plan on the 19th and 26th to see CarsLand, but I also want to go this week (tomorrow)and possibly next week on the 12th and was was wondering if there were any other DISgirls interested in going and meeting up. I'd like to be able to meet some of you before the trip in February. I'm new you know. You all sound so fun, and I'm excited about being with others who are as Disney obsessed, geekish, weird...whatever you want to call us :yay:...as I am. Many of my friends just shake their heads over how Disney crazed I am :sad2:

It's probably similar to the one that's here.
These are some photos from when we went to the Vegas one. This was Angie's sundae:
