Once they learn how to walk, they are off and running! It's fun to see those first steps and then as parents we wonder why on earth we ever wanted them to walk.... or talk for that matter. :lmao:

RIGHT??? Especially the talking thing! YEESH!! Jasmine has turned into the sassiest little bug. She is SOOOO lucky she is cute! For real.

Anyways... Today is Prom.. Which, if you have me on Facebook im sure you have figured it out. LOL!! I made Julies dress, and it turned out AMAZING if I do say so myself!! I have PICTURES!!!!

Purse.. I made it too!

:cool1:  Yay! Doesn't it make it feel so much more "real" with an actual reservation? lol Hope your friend can join you, but even if she can't you are going to have a great time. It's a really fun group. :)

Most definitely I am very excited. Never have stayed on property so this is the closest I will get for awhile haha. I am a forum stalker and posting a lot so don't get tired of me too quickly :rotfl2:

Megan, how cute is that dress and matching purse - great job! Love the teal/turquoise color with the black lace. Is that your neice, Julie?

There is no way I could make it to DL today. I had my toenail removed last week and am still hobbling around. I hope the girls that did had a fabulous day. And I can't wait to hear about the tour. Some of us plan on doing it in July.

Lisa, I added three nights at Art of Animation and park tickets to our Oct Dream Cruise. It all started when I read about the price hike. A girls gotta do what she's gotta do to save money, right?

And I think we are taking over building one at Hojo's!:thumbsup2

Thank you SO much!! She is my sister-in-law. Same difference, really.. Right? She's 18 years younger then my husband, so right now she's just one of my kids. But, alas... Shes only ours for a couple more weeks, then shes back off to Germany.. For good. Kinda sad about that.

We had Mimi's for lunch today, it was good. :) Then we went to Tap Plastics and got some pieces of acrylic cut so we could make a "viewing box" for our fish tanks, it makes the surface of the water clear so we can look down inside the tanks to see everything, they are pretty cool. Then we went to a fish store where I bought another clam for the tank. I have 3 now, one is teal, one is blue and the new one is beige and blue. So pretty!!!! Now I'm hanging out trying to see what everyone is doing. :) Micah is being silly, the girls are off doing things with friends, it's been a pretty good day.

Oh I did a stripper name generator, I would be Sugar Dazzlebrook.......ROFL!!!!!

Sounds like a good day. I've never eaten at Mimi's but have coupons and we have one right down the street but we always forget about it , maybe we will try it for breakfast one morning while in Anaheim on our vacation.

And that is possibly the most awesome stripper name ever , haha :woohoo:

Wasn't CT amazing as the Queen? Great job. And the effects and scenery were wonderful. I agree about KS. Not a spoiler...but in one scene she is supposed to give this motivational speech... I was not buying it at all.
Yeah, the speech wasn't that great. It was like her heart wasn't in it. The special effects with the dwarfs was very convincing. At first when I saw some of the familiar faces my thought was, "Wow, there is a little person that looks just like so and so!" It didn't occur till a little later that they just edited the two different takes very well. :rotfl:

Holly and I are checking with a couple friends here at home to join us on the trip next year, but if we don't find anyone then we will want two roomies :)

Wait...you're still coming on the ladies trip, right? You'll just sneak off for a few days? :rolleyes1
Yep, I'll be there for sure!

I texted my friend who is an AP holder who lives an hour away so maybe I can convince her to join us too ! I am super excited and my DH has been supportive too since I have basically no female friends and thinks this will be good for me :)
My husband felt the same way about me making new friends.:thumbsup2

Anyways... Today is Prom.. Which, if you have me on Facebook im sure you have figured it out. LOL!! I made Julies dress, and it turned out AMAZING if I do say so myself!! I have PICTURES!!!!

Cute dress and purse!

So sleep in and then come join us off-site! I am thinking Sea World might be a bit much. Like someone else said, it would mean buying another theme park ticket. And it's a bit of a drive.
I know there is some interest in the Disney Soda Fountain. I've been. Not sure I want to go again. :confused3

I personally think I will head to Newport Beach. That's what I initially had in mind. I like the area. It's nice. Laid back. Cute shops. There's Balboa Island with a Ruby's Diner at the end of the pier. We can walk, shop, eat, drink. And it's not that far from DL either.

We don't all have to do the same thing. If there's a group that wants to go to Hollywood/Disney Soda Fountain we can split up. Or the group that wants to go to Hollywood can leave the beach early and go do their thing. Lots of options. But I love the beach, so if anyone wants to join me there, let me know! :)

Oh I haven't been there forever. I use to go with my dad a couple times a year. Such a good idea to go to Balboa.

Congrats on the new job!!! More money is awesome!

The movie was good. I loved the scenery! So pretty. The special effects were great, not too over the top. Lots of action. Charlize Theron killed it as the Queen. Great job. Kristen Stewart? Meh, I am not a fan. Bad casting if you ask me. Overall, great movie. Worst part imo? The ending! Just ends suddenly. Not satisfying at all. But, still worth seeing.

I ate way too much popcorn... :rolleyes1 But, movie theater popcorn is the best. popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::

I will have my turn tomorrow. Can't wait. I am going with my oldest DD as her fiance works for the theater and a free movie is always a plus. :thumbsup2

When I booked the other day I didn't have to pay anything. They wanted my credit card number just to hold the room, but nothing was charged. She also informed me about the 48 hour cancellation rule.

My little man just took his first steps tonight!! 3 whole steps without holding onto anything!! He's growing up so fast.

Awe I love seeing the little ones take off. It's so much fun, but now the hard part begins. He will be into everything. My DGD started walking a few months ago. OMG, she is so darn quick. :scared1:

Made my reservation tonight for Feb 27th - March 3rd for a View Room for 2 queen beds ( in case my friend or a roommate comes along) using the AP discount. Since In - House reservations wasn't available over the weekend I reserved it to secure a room , then will call Monday to see if they can apply the Retro rate for the first 2 days of available. I work for a hotel , so I know some tricks of the trade and ours does the same - Always better to be safe than sorry. I texted my friend who is an AP holder who lives an hour away so maybe I can convince her to join us too ! I am super excited and my DH has been supportive too since I have basically no female friends and thinks this will be good for me :)

I am also in Bldg 1 also , woohoo :)
Well you will have lots of female friends now.

I went to Home Depot (to get fertilizer), PetSmart (to donate cat stuff to the rescue group that does the adoptions there), Staples (to buy white out), the grocery store and put gas in the car ($46! OUCH!). Bought my WDW ticket from Underground Tourist to beat the price increase for tomorrow. Grilled sausages and corn on the cob. Pretty much sums up my excitement for the day. LOL
Good thing you got your tickets now. I can't wait to go again but it will be at least a year but more like 2. :sad2:

Good morning, ladies!! I've now got two sick kids here at home. Lindsey has the cough that never ends, and Hannah now has a fever. Right before finals week, too. Not good. Oh well. What can ya do.

Enjoy your Sunday everyone!

I don't know. The grilled sausages sound pretty exciting to me. ;)

We had Mimi's for lunch today, it was good. :)
That reminds me! I have a coupon for a free breakfast. Hmmm, maybe I'll see if Ruben wants to sneak out today for breakfast. Mimi's is just down the street.

Megan, love the dress, love the purse, love it all. I am in awe. I can't even sew on a button so people who can do things like this amaze me. Pretty dress, pretty girl!

Not at all! Post away. It's the best way to get to know everyone before the trip so by the time Feb comes, you feel like you are meeting old friends. :goodvibes

I saw the DL pics on FB and was wondering why you weren't in them. I'm sorry about your toe. Hope it heals up soon.

And lucky you on the cruise and WDW stay!! Are you going with Brianne?

Holly and I are checking with a couple friends here at home to join us on the trip next year, but if we don't find anyone then we will want two roomies :)
Four ladies, one bathroom. You are brave, Jen. :rotfl:

Yep, I'll be there for sure!
Whew! You had me worried for a second there. lol

I will have my turn tomorrow. Can't wait. I am going with my oldest DD as her fiance works for the theater and a free movie is always a plus. :thumbsup2
Have fun at the movies! I wish we knew someone who worked at a theater. It's so expensive these days, even for the matinee. Ugh.

Your prom pictures are cute!! My sister went to prom last night.

I hope she had fun! :goodvibes

Jealous! I wish we had Mimi's here. I love their breakfast, and lunch too! Yum.

Well I guess we have Cora's, which isn't the same, but equally as good.

Hope your kids feel better soon.

Movies - don't know if this works in your area but we buy our theater tickers at Costco. For Cinemark Theathers (Century) they are $15.50 for 2 of them and can be used any time. Costco also has them for AMC (probably same price).

We have the Costco tickets too. But it's $26 here and you get admission for 2, plus a large popcorn and two medium drinks. It's a pretty good deal since it's almost that much for just the movie passes usually.

Well, I decided to skip going out for breakfast even though it was tempting and I had a coupon. Instead I did the responsible, if less fun thing, and went to the grocery store to stock up on food. My kids will be out of school starting this Thursday and my food bill will triple!! Darn kids eating all day long. LOL

Thanks.

We only have Regal cinemas near us. There is an AMC and a Century, but they are farther than I like to go.

We always get a large popcorn when we go as a family because with the free refills all six of us can share and just refill it as often as needed. :rolleyes1

That could be fun. Take crazy photos at the Mann Chinese Theater.

I'm open to anything. The beach, Sea World or Hollywood. Hopefully some others who expressed interest in an off-site day will share their thoughts, too. We might have to take a vote. :rotfl2:

Sure, here ya go. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2826610&highlight=christmas+stocking+exchange

We've been doing them every year since the trips started, but those are the most recent.

Beth thanks so much for posting this ... it was so fun to go thru the thread and see all the creative ideas the divas have! I've been without internet for a couple of days so now I need to go back and catch up!

You betcha! On both accounts! LOL

Super cute!

I don't know. The grilled sausages sound pretty exciting to me. ;)

Tonight is grilled pork chops with grilled squash. I know, you're all blown away by my gourmet talents. *snort*

Got the last of my "First Round Draft Picks" of ADRs done. I know that things will likely change once the Candlelight Processional packages go on sale as well as if they open up the Fantasyland expansion, in particular if they open up dining at Be Our Guest! Tomorrow morning will be the ugliest day of my pre-trip planning. I need to be ON THE COMPUTER at 4AM - Southwest is opening up flight booking from Nov 3 to early January. Since I am traveling to WDW on a "standard award ticket" (the old system), seats are LIMITED. And I'm flying out Thanksgiving weekend. So I will need to be ready to book this the MINUTE the flights go live. Which could be as early as 6AM Central time. There is no guarantee of WHEN tomorrow they will open it up, but the likelihood of it being before 6AM is slim as they only have a "skeleton crew" in the customer service center and wouldn't open up the new schedule until they had a full staff which is 6AM. Good to know. Of course, they might not open it up till noon either, but I'll be ready and waiting.

You're welcome. Glad you enjoyed looking through it all. Now just make sure to sign up when the time comes. :thumbsup2

Well.....tonight's menu is less impressive to me. :rolleyes1 LOL
I don't like squash and I don't eat pork. I basically have the taste buds of a 10 year old. Pizza, burgers, chicken, tacos. LOL I don't eat any steak, pork, lamb, veal, duck, seafood, or anything else weird. I also don't drink, as you know, so I always tease Ruben that he's lucky I am such a cheap date. :rotfl:
For dinner here tonight, it's enchiladas. Easy peasy and something the whole family will eat. Plus I just love Mexican food! So bad for you (depending on how it's prepared), but so good.

I can't wait to follow along with you on your WDW holiday trip! But for now, all that planning sounds exhausting!

Four ladies, one bathroom. You are brave, Jen. :rotfl:
haha...I have been showering at night (makes for getting ready quicker in the morning; plus, there is usually another mirror somewhere in the room :) I just like saving money too much to not share haha

Sounds like time for a padlock on the fridge and cupboards popcorn::

That prom dress is super cute!

I like saving money, too! I just don't think I could do more than 3 to a room. I have to shower in the morning or I don't feel like I am fully awake.

As for the padlock, you definitely don't have teens! LOL They will always find a way in... :lmao:
