Happy Easter everyone!!

Hope everyone has fun today whatever you have planned. :)

More Mouse Adventure Divas. :) We had a blast this spring. Any other Divas play MA card games in March? Amy & Stacie, did your team sit it out this time?

MASpring2012a.jpg

We did skip this one, Chris. I had a CE meeting in San Diego all day. Gotta get those Vet CE hours when I can.

Capri- I have stayed at Worldmark Anahiem, 3 times in 4 different rooms.
Presidential Suite, super nice! Stainless everything, computer, jacuzzi tub, 3 bathrooms, wrap around balcony, more room than you could imagine!! 1 bedroom that was spacious too. 2 bedroom that was a bigger than the 2 bedroom at the Grand. All had full kitchens, across from a friendly 7-11, and Garden Walk. You can watch the fire works from the roof. Friendly staff, and very clean!

Ah ha, I knew I wasn't going crazy when I remembered that a Diva stayed at the Worldmark Anaheim. Tracey popped in my head....but it was YOU. I totally remember it was you now. Duh, Capri. Oh well, at least my memory was half right. :goodvibes

Do the rooms have Disney views?

Do all the rooms have balconies?

How did you get to the parks from there? (Drive? ART?)

Do they charge a daily parking fee?

Unless by some miracle the GCH or the DLH offer some remarkable fall rate specials, it will be between having 2 rooms at the HOJO or a 3 bedroom at Worldmark. We'll see. popcorn::

Happy Easter ladies!

I am back from skiing. It wasn't the best snow but we knew that going up. Unfortunately, the first day I hurt my back. I was skiing down a run that was a very narrow chute - maybe 12 feet wide. Not my favorite but I can do that - or so I thought until I hit the moguls!! They were big and carved out. And with a narrow trail, I had very little room to turn. Now, I don't do moguls - hate them! So I started down, my thighs burning with the effort until about 3/4 of the way, I fell and twisted my back - ugh! So, I just popped off the skis and slid on my butt the rest of the way. I was still able to ski the rest of the week thanks to Advil and ice!! But am paying the price now!

But, the good news is I booked our flights for our DL trip in July when we get to stay in a Grand Villa - the 3 bedroom!! Can't wait!

Hope everyone has a great Easter!

All of the rooms I have stayed in have had balconies. The presidential suite had the best view, but the cost most points. If you buy one or more tickets from AAA you get a free parking pass, otherwise it's $15 a day ;(
We drove, the line for the ART was crazy long! So driving & paying for parking was well worth it. It was nice to be able to make breakfast & pack light, all of the rooms have washer/dryers. But the resort didn't charge a parking fee for staying there.

When did Easter become a mini Christmas??
That's what I was wondering! I guess it's my own fault since I'm in charge of what I put in there, but still. The kid's baskets (4 different ones) included things like hoodies, cash, candy, DVDs, perfume, posters, stuffed animals, toys, etc. All items they'll use, and I didn't really want tons of candy, but yikes.

When I was a kid, it was always basically the same. A big solid chocolate bunny, some jelly beans, and some gum. That was it. Nothing more. Even the eggs nowadays are those plastic ones that you have to fill with candy and/or money. When I was little we hid the hard boiled ones we colored. The fun was just in finding them, not in what was inside.

Oh well. :upsidedow

Happy Easter ladies!

Aw, gentle hugs, Bridget. Feel better!!

I'm so sorry about your back! Hope you feel better soon.

But how exciting about staying in a Grand Villa in July! What a wonderful time you're going to have! And the weather should be fabulous that time of year too.

All of the rooms I have stayed in have had balconies. The presidential suite had the best view, but the cost most points. If you buy one or more tickets from AAA you get a free parking pass, otherwise it's $15 a day ;(

Oooh, good to know about the free parking pass if buying tickets from AAA because we'll most likely end up driving to the parks ourselves rather than wait for ART. Thanks for the info! :thumbsup2

Even the eggs nowadays are those plastic ones that you have to fill with candy and/or money. When I was little we hid the hard boiled ones we colored. When I was a kid, my mom hid the boiled eggs that we colored too. :goodvibes

Although I don't hide those plastic eggs that need to be filled with stuff for my kids either. I hide those pink/blue/green foil wrapped Hershey chocolate eggs. :thumbsup2

But yeah, Easter is a little like a mini-Christmas. Both my boys received a new video game, a few $1-$5 toys like bubbles, sticky hands, mini-Nerf guns, ect, a stuffed animal, and lots of candy. I try not to go too overboard.....try. :goodvibes

On the other hand, it woud be nice if Christmas was more like Easter. Nicer for my bank account anyway. ;) ::yes::

Hey ladies!

Just checking in. Had a super busy week, but now it is over. Dave and his siblings gave a huge combined 60th Anniversary and 80th birthday party for his mom and dad. Lots of decor and planning, and now it's over. Whew!

Now it's on to the next parties. Do they ever end? :faint:

I'm in the process of sewing Kaitlyn's prom dress. Once again, I have to make the stupid pattern up, cuz there is not one out there that is going to work. Why oh why, are not my girls happy with the good ole ones made by the pattern companies? And why oh why do I go along with their hair brained ideas and say "yes" to the dress? I guess it is because this is my baby's last school formal dress and I would like to make it special. I am a wuss. :guilty:

I have other things going on, that I will not go into. Nothing bad, just stuff that is making my life extremely busy.

That is all.

Bridget, like Beth said. Gentle hugs to you!

Nice pics of you MA ladies!! :goodvibes

Lisa, I hope this week turns out better for your DH. :thumbsup2

Capri, More big hugs to you!:hug: There are going to be times when you see something, or someone who reminds you of your dad, and start cry. Even the littlest of things will probably set you off. I gave a good cry the other day, over making Kaitlyn's dress. My mom would have been able to help me figure it out. It's those times, when you just want to call and ask a simple question, and know you can't.
I went to my mom's grave site for the first time this past weekend, while we were in So Cal. It would have been her birthday tomorrow. This was a big step for me. Now her house is sold and the escrow is closing this month. A good thing, but also hard for me. Just another step I guess.
Anywhos, never feel bad for how you grieve. Everyone is different. God gave us tears for a purpose. Love ya!

Howdy all! Hope everyone had a good Easter! I've noticed the trend toward bigger and bigger gift items in the baskets over recent years. I remember small toy items in mine... a bottle of bubble, super ball, paddle ball - that sort of thing. Stuff that then cost a quarter or less and now is in the dollar bins. We dyed eggs, but those didn't get hidden. The foil wrapped chocolate eggs are what were hidden for us. Less "stinky" if one doesn't get found! LOL I made a "basket" for DH that had some K cups, Hostess Cupcakes and 2 Reeses eggs. He bought me a book for my Kindle - The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World. Let the planning begin! LOL

My target is the week after Thanksgiving, but I haven't settled on a date yet. I would either travel on Tuesday or Wednesday. I'd be at Bonnet Creek 7 nights, but all reservations that aren't a Friday, Saturday or Sunday check-in require a split reservation and a possible room change. Oh well. I won't be able to travel Thanksgiving weekend and I have to be done with my travel by Dec 6, so split reservation it is! LOL I'm planning to do Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party while I'm there. Should be fun! Hopefully the Tea cups will be open. They were closed last time I was there and on my two previous visits to WDW I didn't even get into MK except to watch the Electrical Parade in 1990 and to ride Stitch's Great Escape in 2004.

Hope you're feeling better now. I have never had a desire to ski, maybe because I don't like cold weather. How exciting for your upcoming trip !
The parks were just perfect on Sat. Low crowds and warm weather.
I guess it is because this is my baby's last school formal dress and I would like to make it special. I am a wuss. :guilty:

No you're not ! You're a Mom and that's what we do ! :goodvibes When my girls were born I started sewing and made most of their clothes well into elementary school. I also made their crib sets, quilts, crocheted blankets etc.

Hope everyone is having as nice of weather as we are here. It's close to 80 and all I want to do is go outside and take a nap in the sun. !

My trip to WDW in Jan/Feb I spent a week in a one bedroom at Bonnet Creek. I really enjoyed it! I didn't have a rental car so I used their shuttle ... not always the most convenient but I made it work. Have you stayed there before???

 Hi, ladies!!

Monday again. My kids are back in school. Ruben had one more day off before he goes back to work, so we spent the day together just the two of us. It was nice. :goodvibes

Not a wuss. You are a very strong lady. And a good mom which is why you said yes.

How was the party you were making those costumes for? The one you were going to wear that red dress to? I can't remember more details now. My memory is failing me....

It's supposed to be 88 here today. Too hot! :sad2:

Bridget so sorry to hear about your back. OUCH! Hope you are back to normal quick!!

Mel ((hugs)) I am sure that must be hard and I can only imagine. And as far as the dress as always you amaze me. You are the ultimate mom/grandma. Your kids are grandkids are so lucky to have you!!

Lisa that is cool that you got the DW guide. How exciting! I have NO idea when we will make it back to DW. So many other things we want to do and don't know if we will be able to do those either LOL. It's always that dreaded money thing that gets in teh way. ;) You will have a GREAT time though that's a perfect time to go!!

Our weather has been mild but it is supposed to be back to rain and probably cold all the rest of the week. I am bummed because Katy has her first track meet this Thurs and I hope it doesn't cancel it. She only has 4 total and already has to miss one during her camping trip and then has stuff during the other two as well so I am hoping she gets to still do them. TOO much all at once LOL.

Hope everyone had a good day and that your week looks promising. :)

Hi everyone,

Happy Spring. :) Hope all of you had a nice Easter!

More Mouse Adventure Divas. :) We had a blast this spring. Any other Divas play MA card games in March? Amy & Stacie, did your team sit it out this time?

Hello ladies!!! :cool1:
Another great pic!! I know you, MJ and Lesley... not sure on the last one...

The green boa diva on the left is Chrissy, aka tiny little seed here on the DIS. :) She was filling in for Kelly, and did an awesome job with our team.

You are not a wuss missy! You're just a momma, grandmomma, daughter, and friend with a big, beautiful, loving heart. And big hugs back at ya!

One step at a time my sweet friend. Glad you were able to visit your mom's grave site. I'm sure that had to have been so so hard. I can only imagine

I have yet to take a step. I went into my parent's walk in closet the other day, saw my dad's clothes, and burst into tears. Then for the rest of the day, everything little thing made me burst into tears. And that's when I felt like a wuss...or a mental case - haha! :rolleyes1

Thanks Beth! The Tangled party is not until the 27th. Then, Kaitlyn's big graduation bash on the 12th of May. That was why I was talking about the never ending parties. :rolleyes1 One good thing about throwing big parties, is that things get done. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Well don't feel bad. Look how long it took me? I avoided my Mom's closet as much as possible. As a matter of fact, my dear DIL packed up all of her stuff for me. When I feel I am ready, I am going to tackle it.
How is your Mom with his stuff? Does she want you to leave all of it right where he left it? My mom did that. I learned that my best friend's mom did the same thing. Took over a year for them to finally put the things away. I'm talking about slippers by his easy chair, his toiletries and so on. So if your mom does the same thing, I guess that is pretty normal, and part of the healing process.

My mom put away or got rid of all his hospice and medical items right away (the meds he took the last few weeks/days, the hospital bed, the hospital bedside table/tray, the oxygen generator and hoses, all the oxygen canisters, ect), but nothing else at this point. His blanket is still hanging over the back of his chair. His hair brush and personal care items are still sitting on the bathroom counter where he left them. She came right out and said she wasn't ready to go through his personal things yet. I know I wouldn't be able to do it either. But there's no rush. His things aren't going anywhere and will be there when we're ready. :littleangel: :)

Thanks for the info on the photo. And hi to Chrissy if she should happen to ever pop in here. lol

The fun never ends! I can't wait to see pics of all this. (there will be pics, right??) It all sounds like a great time! Wanna adopt me? I come complete with a sweet husband, and four generally well behaved kids. :rolleyes1

Well that was wacky. My post posted twice with a post from Beth in between the double posts. (Say that three times fast!)

Spooky - lol!
