We'll just miss the CarsLand opening. We will arrive on June 3rd and leave on June 7th. I really want to see CarsLand but I will have to wait awhile because I don't think I could deal with the crowds. :scared1: I can't image what it will be like. Lisa, if your days change let me know. I'd love to hang out.

I picked those dates, hoping for an AP Preview of Cars Land. It is rumored that they might do them the 11th and/or 12th of June. I'm taking a chance at it! LOL I figure even if I don't get picked, there's a chance someone I know will and I can get it with them. Like I said, I'm willing to risk it. Worst case scenario? I get 2 days at Disneyland which shouldn't be outrageously crowded since I'm thinking some folks will wait till the 15th when all the new stuff opens.

And after 2 days, my husband is back to being unemployed and watching sports on my sofa. SIGH. Nobody is to blame, the Navy was requiring 10 years of Civil QC experience for this job and hubby has 8. The company was taking a chance that with his other qualifications being so good, they would let the 2 years slide. They didn't. Oh well. He made $800 and more contacts in the industry, so it's not a loss. The fun never ends here, I tell ya.

Bridget - that was a stinky thing for that DMV person to do. Well on the bright side you get to go to Ireland! Wahoo! Ireland is on my want to do list.
Lisa - sorry to hear about your hubbie's job but here's good thoughts for something better to come along.

Happy Thursday to all the Divas! We are almost at Friday! Yeh!

Bridget, Bon Voyage!

Have a wonderful and safe trip! :goodvibes

Grrrr.....I'm finally getting around to looking at our Photo Pass pictures, and it is taking foreveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrr to load. :headache:

Hi Pam! Very nice to meet you. My name is Melody.
Did you per chance ask me to be your friend on Facebook?

Hi Divas! My name is Linda and I love Disney! I did post once on this wonderful thread last year and really wanted to do your Diva trip but I was just getting back from a mega WDW vacation and I just knew my DH wasn't going to be too happy if I took off again. That being said I want to go this year .... already have it penciled in on my calendar. So please sign me up ... hope to bring my daughter but that will depend on work and school.

Most of the DIS folks I "talk" to are on the east coast so this will be great to have a group of ladies in my same time zone to chat with.

I'm sorry, that's terrible! :( I'm glad he made some more contacts tho, that's never a bad thing. :)

Welcome!! :) I'm hoping to make my first Diva as well, altho I've known most of the ladies here for years and met a few IRL I've never made a Diva trip.

:welcome: And yeah for more mother/daughter!

Lisa - sorry about your hubby's job. Hopefully something else will come along soon.

Happy Friday ladies!!

Bridget that stinks about your son. I had a similiar experience back in the dark ages when I took my test LOL. I was driving down the road and there was an intersection coming up and he told me to get in the left hand turn and make a left turn. What he WANTED was for me to get in the suicide lane and turn down a side street. So I was heading for the intersection and then he yells NO HERE and so I got all nervous and just swerved over. Of course he got me for not signaling. I DID pass but with only like a 75. I was furious too because I felt he set me up. I agree with the others that was DEF a setup! Kids are scared and nervous and they are told to do whatever the instructor says. They are tricking them. So sorry and hope he does better next time!!

Oh and I am jealous as well about Ireland. I have Irish on both sides as does my ex and I have ALWAYS wanted to go. Def on my bucket list as well. :)

Beth congrats to Hannah!! That is awesome. Hope you guys had fun!

Lisa so sorry about your dh's job. :( I hope something else comes up quick! And it looks like I am going to miss you again by a week. My girls get out of school on the 11th and we have wicked tickets for the 14th so we are going down on the 17th and will be in the parks on the 19th and 20th. AFTER we booked our trip we found out the 19th was a stupid grad night so I am really hoping they do what the rumors are saying and open DCA up early!! WE only have 1 day at each park.

Kerri I agree about the busy week. This has been a CRAZY one for me too and of course it had to be the week that it rained every single day LOL. Will be glad when today is over with and I can finally relax and stay home. Then it can rain all it wants :)

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

That sounds very unfair about the DMV Instructors. I hate how they can get away with things like that. I only took my drivers test a few years ago (lived in a small town, didn't need a license for a long time) and I remember a few things I got docked for that weren't really fair either, but at least he passed me.

Hey there Grumpy Grandma! I am new here too. :goodvibes

Thanks for the welcome, Melody. :)

Sounds like everyone has had some pretty crappy weather this week with wind and rain. Not a huge fan of rain, but I would prefer it to snow. We got a huge dump of snow last week, and this week it's been nice enough to melt away. Spring is definitely approaching for us! Though, I know it's not the end of the snow just yet.

Good morning, ladies!! TGIF!!! :cool1:  Tonight we're going to see Noelle in her school play. She gets killed, stabbed to be exact, and has to die on stage. I think she's pretty psyched about it. LOL

Tomorrow is St. Patty's Day! Don't forget your GREEN. Unless of course, you enjoy getting pinched. :rolleyes1

Anyone doing anything fun? Getting drunk on green beer? Eating....what's traditional?....cabbage, corn beef and potatoes?

Well, whatever you do, enjoy it!

I swear, DMV examiners fall in with PE teachers. They are angry and bitter and want to take it out on the young.
:headache:
:lmao: I intensely disliked my high school PE teacher, so this makes me laugh.

I would just like to go on record to say that I need this week to be over.....I have way too much going on right now and not enough to do any of it. OMG work in INSANE and my after work chores are just not getting done.......I'm TIRED! I want to go to DLR so I can recharge......:thumbsup2
 It's Friday! Hang in there!!

Oh, darn. I'm sorry, Lisa. Hopefully something will come of those contacts he made.

Hello, Linda!!

welcome.jpg

Welcome to our group. We have a couple mother/daughters that come on the trip, and we always do a special photo for them. Glad to see we'll get another one. (Hopefully it works out with her school and work.) Oh, and now we have two Lindas as well.

I wonder if we'll ever get another Beth.... :upsidedow Then again, one of me is probably more than enough. :scared: :rotfl2:

Beth congrats to Hannah!! That is awesome.
Thanks.

I hope Spring shows up real soon for ya! Send any unwanted rain my way. I miss it. :sad2:

How's your cutie pie Seth doing? :goodvibes This will be his first Easter coming up in a few weeks, right?

My mom and I will be at Disneyland. Hopefully the threat of rain (100% chance :rotfl:) will keep the crowds away. I like Disneyland in the rain. :thumbsup2

We both really enjoyed the Surf's Up Character breakfast durning the ladies trip so we are doing it again tomorrow morning. :)

I found this cute Mickey shirt at Target. Only $9.99.

Tell her break a leg! Will it be weird to watch your daughter "get killed"??

Actually thinking that it would be great to have another you - let's clone you!

Have a great time tomorrow - really cute shirt!

Kerri, Charlene and Andrea, so nice to have you join in.

Today, I am working on designing a Flynn Rider costume. You'd think that there would be a pattern for one. But no! The vest is quite a piece of work. So I am doing the best and easiest I can. It's for Luca. He and my granddaughter Reese are celebrating their second birthdays together as Tangled on April 28th. My girls want the invites to have their pictures dressed as Flynn and Repunzel, so that is why I'm on a roll to get them done now. LOL... Guess who gets to be Mother Gothel at the party? Yep, didn't know that I had an ulterior motive to that villain costume did ya?

Then we are digging out the princess costumes for Sarah,(Cinderella) Becky, (Belle) and Kaitlyn, (Snow White). Not sure yet what Tiff wants to be.
Hopefully the Belle costume is going to fit over Becky's belly. :upsidedow

Bridget, forgot to mention that I loved your expesso shot! No pun extended. :rolleyes1

thanks for the welcome! You sound quite the seamstress. Will you be posting pictures? I would love to see!!

Well, my son did not pass his driving test yesterday. :sad1: It was a little irritating. They have the applicants lined up in their cars. There was one car ahead of him and one behind him. As the first car took off, Connor's examiner told him to "follow that car" and the one behind him did the same thing. Unfortunately, the first driver was in the wrong lane to exit the parking lot!! So all three kids were automatically flunked! The lead car was already in the wrong lane when the examiner told him to follow it! She should have just said to exit the parking lot and let him decided what lane! Poor guy has to wait 2 weeks to retake the test.

I have a busy two days coming up. Have to finish my financials to get to my accountant for our taxes. Get everything caught up in the office, laundry, grocery shop and pack for IRELAND!! Can't wait!! Ireland has been on my bucket list for decades!!

No hidden mickey in my cappuccino this morning! Oh well ...

What a bummer about your son but, now he has two more weeks to practice. I know that's not what he wants to hear...jsut trying to find the positive ;)

ERIN GO BRAUGH!!!! Have a wonderful time and kiss the stone for me. The Blarney Stone that is!!!

And after 2 days, my husband is back to being unemployed and watching sports on my sofa. SIGH. Nobody is to blame, the Navy was requiring 10 years of Civil QC experience for this job and hubby has 8. Sad that it didn't work out but happy that he made more contacts!!!

Hiya Linda. I'm Charlene, I'm on Travis AFB so not too far from ya. It'll be my first time too. Welcome!!!

I get to pack for St. Patrick's Day tomorrow. Fun, huh? We usually have some close friends of the family over for a big meal that my mom cooks. I hope we still do it tomorrow, but since I've been gone I haven't heard any details. It will make it easier for me to say goodbye to them. I have no idea how I'll fit everything I need to do into the next week. No idea at all.

Maybe I'll swing by work and grab that Mickey t-shirt! I love that we usually get a new one with each 'holiday' and then some.

That shirt is really cute!

Seth is doing great. Learning more and more every day...and with that, getting into more and more trouble every day! Haha.

Charlene, I'm about 5 minutes from the main gate, off Walters. :)
We should do a mini meet with those of us from around here :)

TGIF!!!!!!!!! I'm sooooooooooooo glad it's friday! I've worked OT every day this week, 2 days I didn't take a lunch at all but just ate at my desk. I mean I eat at my desk every day (we don't have a "break room") but usually I get to clock out, not the case this week. The good part is my paycheck will be awesome!! :) I love OT! :woohoo: tonight the marching band is hosting a dance so I'm going to help out, tomorrow I'm going shopping with one of my amazing friends who is marrying another one of my amazing friends, we are to the SF Flower Mart because Kati wants to do the flowers herself. :) We are going to check out prices so they can budget for that. tomorrow night I'm going to a birthday party at the bar I work at on Monday nights. :) Sunday we are going to Micah's parents to celebrate his Mom's birthday. gonna be busy but fun! :)

We usually have corned beef and cabbage but I didn't get the stuff because of the dance tonight and plans tomorrow. I think I need to go get it anyway and just have it next week, it feels funny not doing it. I usually also make Irish Soda Bread and rainbow cupcakes to go with it. I did get some clover body jewels for tomorrow night and I did paint my fingers green french manicure but I still need to figure out what I'm wearing tomorrow night....I really don't have a lot of green, I have a green shirt to wear tomorrow during the day but I need a tank top for tomorrow night, it's too hot at the bar. lol

Great plans, Sarah! I want to tag along! I love Disneyland in the rain. Best time to be there, imo. Perfect shirt, too. Have a great time. Take some photos. I wonder if there will be anything St. Patty's Day related? A dessert or something?

Tell her break a leg! Will it be weird to watch your daughter "get killed"??
Oh, gosh, I don't know! I hadn't thought about that. Well, I guess it will depend on how good of an actress she is. lol If she's too good, and it seems too real, then it might freak me out a bit.

thanks for the welcome! You sound quite the seamstress. Will you be posting pictures? I would love to see!!
Mel, is amazingly crafty and talented. ::yes:: :worship:
Me? I can't sew on a button.

I get to pack for St. Patrick's Day tomorrow. Fun, huh?
Well, it's exciting in any case. :yay: Hope your mom makes your traditional dinner.

I've been looking at some recipes online today, but can't find anything I want to make. I think I am just being lazy. Maybe I'll just join you for dinner. ;)

Seth is doing great. Learning more and more every day...and with that, getting into more and more trouble every day! Haha.
Awww. He's so cute. I love his photos! Just wait....the older they get, the more trouble they find. :rotfl2:

Mmmm, rainbow cupcakes sound good. Much better than cabbage, which I am not a fan of. :rolleyes1
Sounds like a busy but fun weekend! Those are the best.

OK, so I don't want to start packing :( I need boxes first which I'm going to get from work since there is never a short supply of those when they are stocking the floor. I figured I would start organizing things today but I really just want to procrastinate. Wah. I'm being a big baby today. I don't want to do a thing. Maybe I'll see if a friend can come over and help or something. Because right now, it's not happening on my own.

Charlene, I didn't know you were at Travis! Not too far from me. I don't remember if I mentioned it but I'm right on the other side of the Benicia Bridge. Well, I will be for the next few days. Then I'll be calling Anaheim home :rotfl:

Speaking of, I did find a place. I just have to pass a credit check for their landlord and then everything will be all set I suppose. I get along great with the couple (the wife is a huge Snow White fan ;)) but they do smoke so it wouldn't have been my first choice. Thankfully it's not bad since they mainly smoke outside but I'm taking an air purifier with me. It'll be temporary until I can find new roommates through work or until their neighbor's space opens up who I had contacted originally. I had met up with others, but they decided that me having to work at 3am just wasn't a good fit. But hey, a roof over my head is better than nothing, right?
