..... oh and thanks a bunch, Wendies - now I want Mexican food.

You're welcome. :upsidedow

Ditto from Me :upsidedow:upsidedow

I'm off to bed... I am exhausted and a little depressed (I have been researching how much $$ it's going to take to finish up and get my degree :scared1: I wish I could go back in time to the day I didn't register for classes and when I told my parents "It's okay - I am making really good money and can go back later" W T F was I thinking?!?!?!:confused3 I would sooo smack myself straight!)

Have you seen any pics from the park today???? :scared1:

One was posted a while ago showing the lines to get into DL stretching ALL THE WAY TO THE DCA TURNSTILES!!!! ACK!

eta: someone just posted to FB that Disneyland has reached capacity. DOUBLE ACK!
LEAP YEAR!!!:scared1:

Theresa, you are making me LOL!

Welcome Pam! :welcome:

Wendypooh, The 14 was closed too. :scared1:

a big thank you to all of the Divas who are investigating the crowds this weekend. :thumbsup2

Last but not certainly not least.
I had a wonderful time with everyone. :grouphug: I wish there was more time , to really catch up with everyone.

A huge thanks to the M&G ladies, and all the hard work you did.
Jill, once again, thanks for the time out of your day for us.
Bridget, thanks for doing all of our ressies.
Bethypooh, thanks for the WHOLE year of keeping things posted, and everything in order.

The idea of having a farewell breakfast sounds wonderful. :cheer2:

Also, if we move the date up to Wednesday, then there is some talk of moving the hunt to Friday. Hopefully less crowds, and leaves Saturday free. Mind you, it is just talk at this point. And like everyone has been saying, we definitely would like like to lighten things up for the hunt. From all consensus, the Divas just wanna have fun. Well of course we do...but we have learned that we are no Mouse Adventurers. So back to how we used to do it. I hope that makes everyone happy. :goodvibes On the way home, Jessica and I had fun coming up with new ideas for next year. Just good ole style of hunting. :cloud9:

My DD Becky went into the ER last night. Got dehydrated from nausea, and developed a migraine headache. Once they gave her fluids and some anti nausea meds she was able to go home. So today, instead of getting my suitcase unpacked and my life in order, I went to her house to help with Luca and a bit of cleaning. Also made her a nice pot of chicken noodle soup. Hopefully it stayed down. I was able to do a load of towels today.

Anybody here love Hawaii 5 O? James Caan was a guest actor this week. Looks like he might be around a bit. Anywhos, his son Scott is a regular, so it was fun to see them together. Also Alex O'Loughlin is pretty darn hot. He would be the person I would post a pic of if I could. popcorn:: Especially the one of him coming out of the water in the beginning of the show every week. :rolleyes1u

The hunt was fun, but I was so tired afterwards that I'm not sure if it was worth it. I think I've finally found the one thing that wears me out!:rotfl2:

I enjoyed the hunt from the perspective of something new & fun to do and also loved learning more about the park. But the intensity of trying to find so much in a short time was a bit crazy...fun, but crazy!:)

So I was thinking maybe for next year, if everyone is agreeable, I could make up some scavenger hunt sheets that are just for fun and people could pick them up at the M&G. That way people that enjoy a slower paced day could also have fun....

I think this is a great idea, and how generous of you to offer to create it. It's always wonderful to have more Diva activities throughout the week. This one wouldn't be timed or graded, but would just be for pure fun. I don't see that it would interfere with the competitive Scavenger hunt in any way. It's extreemly unlikely that any of the questions would be at all similar

Why not have an extra, fun Diva activity? Plus we could all feel perfectly fine about talking to each other about the questions on this activity, where we can't talk to each other at all with the other. I really like the idea of having a sheet of questions or eye-spys that I can 'work on' while I'm enjoying the park with the girls, riding rides and watching shows throughout the weekend, without worrying about time constraints. I think Divas could choose to do one or both of the scavenger hunt activities. Maybe we could even call them something different?

Mel, what a good mom you are! I hope your daughter is doing better.
Wendy, best of luck with your educational goals. When did education get so over the top expensive?!

Welcome Pam. :)

I love the big breakfast idea - but where could we hold it? We had the private room at Steakhouse 55 full and that wasn't even half the Divas. This will take some planning - good thing we have lots of amazing planners in our group!

And ... I forget what else.
Hugs to all. :)

I agree that it would be a fun thing to do if it was just something you could casually do the whole time. Just a list to check off during the few days we are there. Then if you happen to get them all, you receive a prize or something.

Good morning, ladies!! Lots of chatter. That's good! :thumbsup2

Well, I know that this wasn't one of the choices, but what about the second weekend of March? Is that too close to spring breaks?
Yes, I think it would be. I think bumping it back a week is probably as far as we'd like to push it.

Okay Beth, since you want to hear from some more people....I vote for pushing it a week into March.
:thumbsup2 Glad your back is on the mend!!

The first weekend of March sounds fine with me. As long as Easter isn't in early March, crowds should be lower than Presidents week.
:thumbsup2

Is it horrible if I've already finished off all of my M&G treats?
My kids raided my stash on the car ride home. lol

Hi, well just jumping in here, my name is Pam and introducing myself. I'm a diva by nature and I'm also a Disney Addict. I am a newbie to this thread, but I feel I sufficiently meet the qualifications to be a Dis Diva. Your annual trip sounds really fun. I think I need to join in this trip next year. I don't care about what dates y'all select. You had me at Disney.;)
Welcome, Pam!!! So glad you are going to join our fun Diva group. :goodvibes

I'm good with the 1st weekend in March so we can avoid the week after President's Day.
:thumbsup2

I like the Wednesday-Sunday idea :thumbsup2 I LOVE the idea of having a Goodbye breakfast on Sunday morning... I saw a few Divas Sunday morning, but I missed the rest of you :sad1:
:thumbsup2 I missed saying goodbye to several as well.

I was smiling at your entire post until I got to the tie dye part. Then I got a little "ugh" feeling in my stomach.:rotfl:
:lmao:

I think it would be great to have a going away on Sunday morning. I wish I could have said goodbye to more Divas. I also like the idea of arriving on Wednesday night. It would be fun to have all day Thursday in the park.
:thumbsup2

As for the dates, I'm good for either one. I just tell the other adult when to not except me at home, book a flight & voila, it's a done deal.

I love the idea of a goodbye breakfast!
:thumbsup2

I agree that Miss Mel must come so the early March dates are sounding better and better. :thumbsup2
:thumbsup2

Bethypooh, thanks for the WHOLE year of keeping things posted, and everything in order.
Aw, my pleasure.
I hope Becky feels better soon!

How about the good bye breakfast being a character breakfast? Just need to make multipal ressies. I don't think we need a privare room for this.

Just from what I've read here in these posts, it appears that moving it back a week, and changing it to Wed-Sun, seems to be good with everyone that has a preference. And on the plans Katie posted, it looked good with those 2's and 3's.
I also love the thought of the hunt possibly being on a Friday. How nice to not have to fight crowds to maneuver through the park. Also, since we know Saturday will always be a busy day, if the hunt is on Friday, that leaves time in the morning for rides and fastpass collecting before the crowds hit. Very cool.

Well, this is good!! And it was fairly painless!! Whew!! :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

So, I guess, unless there is something specific we need to wait for, it appears the 2013 dates will be Wednesday, February 27 through Sunday, March 3. :)

Shall we make this official, or wait to see if there are any voices of objection still out there unheard as of yet?

Hi Ladies,

How are you all doing? Yesterday I planned to go to Leap Day at DL but at the last minute, I decided to skip out. Wednesday is the busiest day of the week at work for me and no one would be able to cover me. I have today thru Monday off. Yay!!

My friends told me to come hang with them at the park after my hip hop class last night. I thought about it and texted them to see how bad the park was. OMG, I'm so happy I didn't go!! I would have been a grouchasaurus!

Things I heard:

-90 minute wait time for JOLLY HOLIDAY BAKERY! That's insane!!!
-Some guy was selling alcohol to underage kids and there were drunk teens running around.
-Drunk bros in the park
-Carmageddon trying to get into the Mickey & Friends parking structure
-Park exceeded maximum capacity
-At one point, if you left the park they wouldn't accept re-entry and if you came into the park, it was chaos and crowded.

My friends thought the crowd would die down after 1am but it didn't. It was packed the whole time. Sounded like a nightmare! :scared1:

I really wanted to go but I heard it was full after I got off so we didn't want to drive down for nothing.

How did someone get alcohol in past security. I mean he must have had a lot if he was selling it. :confused3

I already put it in my calendar yesterday..... LOL

Beth, in your siggy you have a count down to the Halloween Diva mini meet. What are the dates for that this year?

That could be fun. As long as it's not in one of the parks. I just think it should be at an outside restaurant just in case there is someone leaving that morning, who doesn't have a park pass.

But Storytellers is always nice. That could work.

Another place I thought of is Mimi's Cafe. It's not a horrible walk. The food is good, especially their muffins! And they do have a banquet room. Out of curiosity I called the manager and he said they have a private room that will hold around 46. That might work depending on the group size.
There's no deposit required. And he can provide us with a limited menu which would make ordering and getting in and out easier. Would be cheaper than a character meal also.

Anyway, just something to keep in mind as the months pass. :)

I'll be in the area with my family October 18, 19, 20 and 21 staying at Hojo with the ET rate.

The 18th I'm taking the kids to Knott's Scary Farm. (No Disney Halloween party for me. I wasn't impressed last year. Too crowded and too pricey just to get candy. imo)

The 19th is the day I'm ditching them and hanging out in the parks all day, so I think that was the day most of us were going to try to meet up. :)

The 20th, Capri and her family, and me and my family are going to Universal Studios if anyone wants to tag along for that. They'll have the new Transformers ride open by then. And their park prices are sooo much cheaper than Disney's.

Hope to see lots of Divas in October!! :cool1:

I just wanted to let everyone know that after the addition of a few needed volunteers, we now have your 2013 M&G Committee:

Beth
Capri
Jen
Jessica
Laurie
Lisa
Tammy
Wendy

We'll announce a new theme within the coming weeks, but until then.......popcorn:: :rolleyes1

I know! My friends said that a ton of guests basically ignored the no smoking rule in the park. People were smoking weed and cigarettes and they said the parking structure wreaked of the smell of weed. So gross!! They were all unhappy and they said I didn't miss anything! They thought if I came past 1am that the crowds would die down but it didn't. Saw pics this morning on FB and it looks crowded today too! My friends said it sucked and they are all passed out in the hotel from staying in the parks for so long. Ack! I know someone who is a skipper on Jungle Cruise and he posted that some drunks were on the ride and smelled like booze. No bueno!

I have no idea how they got it past security but with that many people in the park they could have snuck it in somehow. So crazy! A friend of mine was pissed because he left to take a nap and then went back at night and they wouldn't let him back into the park.

Thanks for this announcement, Capri!! :cool1: I am so excited to be a part of the team. It's going to be fun to work with such great ladies!

Something tells me Disney will think twice before ever doing something like that again.

Yep!! It's new in May 2012! It's supposed to be really good. I can't wait.
Here is a teaser about it:
http://wearemoviegeeks.com/2012/02/...sformers-the-ride-3d-official-teaser-trailer/

For Christmas, my MIL got us each 5 day passes from Costco for like 50-something dollars. Way cheap compared to DL. They don't have to be used consecutively. Just before the year's over. So, we went once at Christmas. Ruben took the kids this past weekend. And we'll be going again over Easter, summer and October to use the remaining days.
You should go!

Oh, and in all the posts yesterday, I forgot to tell you how glad I am you'll be coming with the Diva group next year! I got to spend some time with Rochelle, Bernice, Michelle, and Alison. It was fun! I can't wait to see you again, too. :)
