Okay then I'll talk smack about both of them, seeing as how I'm a Coyotes fan!!

Who? LOL

See, now when she said Kings and Ducks, I thought she was referring to the (Oh, PLEASE) possiblilty that the Sacramento Kings basketball team would move to Anaheim and share the Honda Center with the Anaheim Ducks. If you're talking all hockey, I'm lost. LOL I know the Sharks and the Ducks. LOL

And *I FOUND MY TIARA!!!!!!!* And I am bringing two extras if anyone needs one.....

Two kids home from school today due to some stomach bug, UGH! They seemed fine by the afternoon, so here's hoping they can go to school tomorrow so I can get packed... And also that I don't come down with it, sheesh!

One more day... :yay:

Dear me, I just had a little heart attack here...

I was filling in some info for my flight online, and it asked for my passport # and expiry date (traveling from Canada to US).
So I dig out my passport, and IT EXPIRED ON FEB 12! :scared1:

Luckily, my DH reminded me that my NEXUS card is what I need when I go through customs, not my passport. But oh my goodness...what if I didn't have a Nexus card? I would have been hooped!

I hope there are no more unpleasant surprises before I'm on the ground in L.A.!:goodvibes

Can't wait to see everyone again!

As I am wrapping up for the night I have just realized that I forgot to order the DVD one of my classes is supposed to watch while I am gone. Oopsie! Now I am trying to scramble to find a copy, or switch and re-write the viewing guide all before noon tomorrow. How could I let this happen!?

I also learned that one of my pastors and his family are down at DL through Saturday so I will be on the lookout to say hello :goodvibes

All packed and ready to go :cool1: I have to admit that I'm one those in need of a packing lesson too. By the looks of it, I may be gone for a week. I swear all it takes is a jacket, sweatshirt, a pair of tennis shoes and a couple pairs of jeans and it's like I have no room. I had to bring an extra backback just for my snacks. Thought about stuffing them in the suitcase but I don't think they would make it to Anaheim in too good of shape.

Well, I'm super excited for Thursday to get here. See you all soon!

I put my snacks in my checked bag so I don't get hassled at the screening check point. In Decemember on our way home through SNA, I was screened for having an empty reusable water bottle, which they cotton-swabbed, and then the lady lectured me on my son's half-used toiletries bag. It was in the suitcase and not in the outside pocket like it was supposed to be. :confused3 I had never heard this rule and have always packed my liquids away inside a makeup case in the middle of my suitcase. It was a horrible experience and I told the lady so - I know she was doing her job, but she was so rude about it. At one point I told mentioned something about being singled out for my tattoos....to which her feeble response suggested I might be right. Ugh....SMF treats people so much better.

Yeah, any carry-on liquids or gels need to be in 3 oz or smaller containers and must all fit in a quart ziploc bag and have to be removed from the bag and put in the bin with your shoes. There are new rules for batteries too. They must be in the carryon and (unless they are inside the device they go to) need to be in a container so they can't come in contact with anything else. If you haven't flown in a while, it never hurts to check the current rules.... http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/index.shtm

And they told me once in Sacramento that I couldn't take a travel mug in my carry on because it was a "liquid container over three ounces". Even though it was empty. And had something in it like socks. Yeah, really. So now I keep the lid and the mug separate and I haven't had a problem since.

No shirts made (i had all these creative ideas never got around to it) No tiara yet. not packed. Hoping I have everything I need. Am I worried?

No I will be at the Happiest Place on Earth tomorrow and meeting all the divas. As long as I have my money, pass, and clothes to wear I am all good. (I do have my part of scavenger hunt and snacks ready for meet and greet)

I think I might just be too excited to work today.

Good morning, ladies!!
OMG, I leave today!! I'm freaking out a bit. I managed to say bye to the kids this morning without crying, but just barely. I hope I can hold it together when I say bye to Ruben later. Yes, I'm a dork. I know I'll have fun once I am there, but it's so hard to leave. :sad1:

If you are happy with Ruben, stick with it and don't try the others. They will only ruin you. LOL
You're probably right. lol

Uh oh, good luck!

I suppose I should get off my butt and finish packing. :rolleyes1 I also wanted to do some laundry and cleaning before I leave. Later!! :)

Ummm, not me! All my kids are going to feel is the breeze as I rush out of the house at lightning speeds!!! I may give them a high five first :confused3. I love my kids dearly, but I need this break like I need air.

We can all talk smack about the Kings and the Ducks, but you're still both just plain old wrong (even if my boys lost to the last place blue jackets tonight ... :rolleyes1).

I'll definitely join you in talking smack about the Kings and the Ducks (but I'm still gonna smack talk the Sharks and Coyotes - tee hee)

Yay for your Nexus card :yay:

The carry-on liquid rule thing has been in effect for a long time - 3 oz or less, in a clear ziploc type bag, removed from your bag before the screening. If you managed to get away with it tucked away inside before, you were lucky :upsidedow Frankie and I got the shakedown in February with a gingerbread house kit we were bringing in carry-on. Who the heck knew that icing was considered a liquid :confused3 I've also had the complete and total pat down for bringing yogurt (at least it was an exciting start to a trip??)

No tiara yet.... As long as I have my money, pass, and clothes to wear I am all good.

Helloooo, the tiara is the most important part princess: Everything else you can buy when you get there.

:scared1: (OK, I think I'd be sort of in this camp right now. I know I would miss the boys later on, but phew, to get away for a bit.......)

Have a great time and enjoy the child-free break :woohoo: :woohoo:

Well it looks like I won't be getting there until Friday night. :sad1:

I put in for Friday off a few weeks ago but was told that they would let me know on Thursday becasue a co-worker is out on medical leave and I just found out today that she's not coming back on Thursday so I have to work. :sad2:

I'm hoping traffic won't be too bad and I can get there during the Cafe Orleans meal.

Hey Beth! Went over your packing list last night again? No wonder you packed too much...........:rolleyes1

Nah... Just kidding! I know you did not pack all that. :scared1:

But I can give a few of you ladies some packing tips if you like. I went to Europe for 3 weeks and had only a carry on and my crossover purse. And that was in winter.

First of all I learned a good system from Rick Steves. Anyone heard of him? He is like the guru of European travels. I even bought his suitcase for the that trip. Loved it so much that I bought another one for Dave and Kaitlyn. He puts a lot of thought into his travel gear. They are light weight to begin with, and have bunches of zippered pockets. But I digress.

Anywhos if you go to his website, he should have ways to pack and the must haves to take along.

Only take what you know you will wear. For this trip, it is fairly easy, cuz our shirts are all figured out.

Here is my list.

For my pants I have the jeans I will be wearing down, plus one black pair, and 2 capris. I have my purple, pink and teal tee packed, plus one more shirt for Monday. 3 lightweight camis, (navy, white, black) and 2 light weight long sleeves(navy, off white) for layering. My M&G get up. 2 light weight hoodies in black and white. 1 heavier jacket that I carry. I have very modest jammies so i don't have to pack a robe. For shoes I have my comfy flip flops and tennis shoes which I will wear down cuz they are the bulkiest. Stuff under wear, socks, gloves, scarves in all the nooks and crannies.

For personal items I really try to scrunch that stuff down. Little travel items wear ever I can. Only my make up and lip stick that matches, and so on.

After all of my absolute necessaries are packed, then I add extras.

Since that trip European trip, my whole way of packing has totally changed. You'd be surprised how much you can get in a carry on! :cool1:

Now for this trip, I am cheating on the way down, cuz I have all the tees, plus some prizes, and Dave is bringing me on his way to San Diego. But on the way back home, I am taking the train, so I want to travel as light as possible.

LOL! After my trip to CoD, I can't make any promises. If it is too much, then I will probably ship some stuff home! :rolleyes1

Anywhos, maybe all of you do this, but just thought i'd share what I learned. :goodvibes

I'll have to try and catch up when I get home tonight before I go to sleep since I'm just about on my way out the door for my last shift at work. I am so glad it will be an easy day and I get to sit upstairs in my "office" and listen to my Disney playlist. Add in the phone interview and I doubt I'll be getting a lot done today but I may have a job just outside of Anaheim waiting for me by the end of today!!

To everyone getting ready to make their trek, safe travels!!
