I wonder what holiday and what schools?

I checked the LA school district, San Diego school district, Long Beach school district, San Francisco school district, Scottsdale school district, Salt Lake City school district, Clark County (Las Vegas) school district....they are all in session throughout the week except for today (and Clark County has tomorrow off too for teacher development day, but they are back in school starting on Weds.)

Hmmmmm, confused. :upsidedow

Mother nature likes me. :cool2:

A lot of northern CA schools have it as ski week. Touring Plans can definitely be wrong so here's hoping!

Don't forget to pack your shades - hehehe!
cdwink.gif

and tuck in a little tube of sunscreen girls...we are warming up by the end of the week, although the weekend should cool off a bit (which could still change at any moment around here...lol)

Jill - Carousel is charging $9 (plus tax) per day for parking this year, otherwise I'd be glad to. :-(
oh darn, how rude of them to charge for parking! LOL Thanks anyway.

I can get you a pass for the grand. I check in Wednesday night. When can I get it to you?

Daisy
You are a doll Daisy! You can just bring it to lunch on Thurs or the meet & greet. Thanks!

The parks were crowded this past weekend, which was expected. Many guest I chatted with were from Utah, AZ & Texas. Most of our local schools only take the Mondays, but there are a few exceptions that take the whole week for "ski week". For those who want to make the most of the rides...get there early, I'm always shocked at the huge rise in guests by 1 or 2pm.

WWS would probably be best anyway. We were planning on doing the early entry to DCA that day so makes more sense to eat at WWS than go into DL. I think I am actually wanting to try Jolly Holiday for a sandwich one of the days. Maybe meet at WWS around 8 am? Linda, Brianna, Melody & Jodi - does that work for you guys?

Happy to see on FB that the answer is yes!!
Yes that will work out perfect!

Had to be bearer of bad news but expect large crowds late in the week - holiday week for many schools:

Jill, Sunscreen is already packed!:thumbsup2

Jen, Good for you! :thumbsup2

Guess we'll just have to see how the crowds turn out. I'll be happy so long as I'm there!

And just because I need to keep someone(s) posted, I talked with my HR today and we've already heard back from my #1 pick of stores to transfer to in SoCal. They are interested and we are setting up a phone interview for Wednesday. Now just waiting to hear what time they want to do it. For some reason the phone interview for a company I've been with for 7 1/2 years is making me more nervous than my interview with Disney!

Happy Sunday Diva's! It's getting exciting on here, huh?! All the planning & packing and chatting!
Can I ask a favor...for anybody staying at the Carousel or GC, can you get me a parking pass when you check in? It makes coming & going so much easier for me. I don't htink I'll need the HoJo this year.
Let the fun begin :)

Jill: I have to call tomorrow to add Tina's name to my ressie so I'll add you too and then you'll have a room key/parking card for the entire time.

Oops--just read that Daisy is adding you to hers so nevermind!

A lot of Placer County has President's Week - I wish I did...I would so arrive on Wednesday :rotfl:

Ok - off to the gym with me!

I was so tempted to leave Wednesday afternoon rather than Thursday morning because I figured, you know, there's not much difference between the two, right? However, I didn't think Justin would buy into that same logic. :rotfl:

Didn't want to push my luck with the guy - heehee! :rolleyes1

Plus, where would I have stayed? Most likely a nice bus stop bench on Harbor. HA!

Sounds like a plan - 8:30 it is! Mel, Jodi & Beth - see you there!

Sounds good :thumbsup2

I so hope. Ours school in Chico use to have it and now they are back to a 4 day weekend.

Jessica, very exciting. I have a feeling that you'll be employed by next week and ready to start your new adventure. I'm sure you'll do great on your phone interview.

Well, the count-down is really on now. I'm pretty much packed. It's all laying on the guest bed in little piles. Tomorrow night it all goes in because I head out Wednesday to stay at the hotel near the airport. I can't wait to see you all on Thursday :goodvibes

Hey there everyone! I've been wanting to join this group for a while now, and I am finally getting the courage to say hello! I love the sound of these trips, and while I am a little late for this one, I am really considering joining for next year. I would be coming from Canada, and so it would definitely depend on flight costs, but I am going to try my best! Hope you all can fit one more Disney fan into your clan. :)

Thanks Jodi! Guess I really need to get my butt in gear and find a place to live ... :rolleyes1

Hey Jessica! Long time no chat. And thanks! :goodvibes

Good luck with both your interviews! I hope the move works out for you. About when are you looking at moving? Right away?

Bingo. We had ski week in the Acalanes district (east Bay Area between the oakland hills and Walnut Creek along the 24 freeway)

Ooooooo...another Stitch lover! Hello, Andrea!

Long day today. I woke up around 2:30 this morning and never really got back to sleep. Got out of bed at 5. My butt is DRAGGIN now, but I need to stay up till at least 9 or 10 and then get up by 7 to get "conditioned" for the trip. LOL

Tomorrow we are taking a little drive to the airport. DH hasn't been out there since the new terminal opened and he is driving Patrice and I and picking us up again on Sunday, so I want him to know where he is going. LOL

I have some laundry to do tomorrow and I have a mystery shop scheduled at Ulta. Need to hit Best Buy to pick up a thumb drive for DH and need to hit the grocery store. Putting chicken in the slow cooker tomorrow which will make leftovers for Thursday night. Wednesday I'll slow roast part of a pork shoulder and throw the rest in the slow cooker for shredded pork which I can freeze for next week and beyond.

Looks like DH is going to the Bay Area Friday night and may stay over at his mom's Saturday night as well, so I only need to have leftovers for him for Thursday night. YAY! His uncle went into ICU Saturday in San Jose and it was not looking good yesterday, but he's doing better today. We already discussed that if he should pass, I don't need to come home early, even if they do a service while I'm gone.

Filled up my car today - I let it go until the light came on, which I try NOT to do when gas is so expensive, just to avoid the heart attack at the pump. FIFTY TWO BUCKS. Ugh. $3.82 a gallon. Bleh. That's a whole lot of corn dogs right there! LOL

Sorry - I'm exhausted and babbling. Gonna go shuffle around the packing pile for a while until bed time. Talk to you all tomorrow!

Hi Lisa! Yep, huge Stitch fan here. :)

I have one of those white window decals on the back of my car that I got at DL a few years ago that's Stitch and it says, "Here comes trouble". Hubby thinks it was custom made for me. Can't imagine why..... :rolleyes1

Haha, that is awesome. I have a Stitch decal on my car too! It looks like he is waving out the back passenger window of my car. And I have Mickey on the other side.
