Steve had to leave so I spent yesterday at DL and DCA on my own . . . rode Buzz twice (we won't talk about scores) and went on Haunted Mansion Holiday.

I wish I would have known you were going to be there on Saturday (you may have posted that you would be, but obviously I don't remember!). DD Christine, her roommate, and their 2 boyfriends were there! I told them about the red shirts so I don't think they wore red. But Christine did manage to lose her cell phone, still haven't heard if she found it....

Question for anyone going to the mini meet and the Cafe Orleans dinner~

Is anyone interested in sharing the meal with me that night? I know there is no way I'll be able to finish it all myself.

I've been looking at the menu and this is what I'm thinking I'd like to try:

Pommes Frites - Traditional French-fried potatoes tossed with Parmesan cheese, garlic and parsley, served with a Cajun spice remoulade $4.99

Mardi Gras Chicken Sandwich - Succulent chicken breast, marinated in olive oil and Cajun spices, then lightly blackened. Nestled on a toasted multi grain roll with our own avocado giardinere relish, crisp lettuce and tomatoes. Served with tossed, tender greens. $15.99

"Mickey" shaped Beignets - Topped with powdered sugar and served with raspberry coulis and vanilla creme anglaise $6.99



Are those items "shareable"? Does anyone know? Was anyone else thinking of ordering those same items, and interested in sharing?
If so, let me know.

Beth, I'd love to share that with you! It all sounds like something I would order, and I'm a light eater (especially at DL).

Yes to all accounts!! But if I'm not mistaken they will charge you a plate fee. Don't even whisper that you are sharing. That happened to us. Just order and start trading.

And I would have loved to have shared with you too. I love the Pommes Frites, and the Beignets,. Haven't tried the chicken, but that sounds delish too.

Oh well......................I snooze, I loose!!! (The last minute lady comes along, and takes all.)

Stacie, I will ask Lorealle first, and if not then we can go from there. I didn't know there were any Shakey's left either. Wow, that brings back memories.

Actually, there was only one Shakey's left in the area over near Rossmore, other than that, they had all changed over to Big's. In the last month, the two most local Big's changed back to Shakey's. I haven't had a chance to go to them yet though.

When we all eat as a group are they going to make us have one big check or can we do seperate checks or how does that work cuz obviously we would like to take advantage of our AP discount and I don't know about you all but we usually use plastic. I do have some cash but I usually save that for treats and sodas and use plastic for meals. So how does that work?

On the first trip the CMs were great about applying the AP discount to all of our meals for the sit-down restaurants and then they divided the bill into the individual checks...Do you all remember lunch at the BB that first day... it did take a little time... but they did do it.

Melody, I bet with so many ladies going there will be others who'd like to share. I prefer sharing so I can have some of the appetizer, the entree and the dessert without getting so full I feel ill.

Well, I wasn't at any of the really large meals last time. I did the HOB meal and we all had separate checks for that one. There was about 12 or more us there.
When we did the ladies only WDW trip, we'd always just ask for separate checks. And we are talking large groups of 20-25 ladies at a meal. It takes more work and time, but if we let them know ahead of time it should be ok.
I use plastic too. Don't like to carry much cash on me.

Hi Beth. I'm in Virginia right now for work and just waiting for the word from my boss. She is waiting for confirmation that the meeting is in fact going to happen.

Not sure if I posted about dh and my meeting about our youngest. If I didn't the psychologist that evaluated him has made the recommendation we have another evaluation by a psychologist that specializes in autism. From what I've found on the internet and what I've found in a few of the books I purchased this past weekend it looks like he may have PDD-NOS (Pervasive Developmental Disorder - Not Otherwise Specified). The good news is that if he is diagnosed with this it is the highest functioning of the spectrums of Autism. Thanks for letting talk to you all about this stuff. Talk to you all soon. I'll post as soon as I know if I'll be able to attend the mini-meet.

It must be frustrating having to meet with one person after another all the while wondering what's going on. It's good you are being proactive and reading all you can on it. Hi Katie! Yes, I'm willing to do a meal, just as long as everyone realizes what a great sacrifice I'm making by giving up valuable park time to eat deep fried food with a bunch of girlfriends! You know I still feel a bad about that. I really wanted to spend time with you all. I missed about 3.5 hours (I think) of valuable park time with the wait time and the actual demonstration.

I promise I'll spend more time with everyone on the next trip (and hopefully the mini-meet).
