I sure can, just ask Stacielee! I'm not always the most talkative, but I'm a good listener! :flower3:

Ok, ladies . . . I'm 99% sure I'm coming to the mini-meet. Just nailing down all the details of when to arrive/leave, etc. I've never been at HalloweenTime. I'm sure it will be crowded, but fun! :yay:

Definitely! I'm the one who seems to talk too much! Just ask my DDs.

Eeeek! I'm so excited, I just talked my dh into driving with us over to CA. We are going to take the kids to the Trick or Treat party on Thursday night - YIPEE! I've never been to this before and the kids were bummed they wouldn't get to ride Toy Story Mania -- so we are going to SURPRISE them and instead of driving to my friends' house on Thursday, we'll drive to DLR!!! YEA!!

My dh will stay with my kids at my friends house the rest of the weekend, and I'll join y'all on Friday night, Saturday and probably Sunday for EE before we drive home on Sunday afternoon.

I can't believe I just pulled this all together this morning!! I'm so excited!!!

Anyone else doing the trick or treat party on Thursday night??

Really, you've never been at Halloween? Well then you are in for a real treat. I love it!! And yes, it most likely will be crowded but I've already psyched myself up for that. Hopefully it won't be too bad. Please don't let it be any worse then it was in April!!!!

That's awesome Callie!!! They are going to love it!! What a cool mom and dad. :thumbsup2
Sorry, no one fun or cool is going to the party that night. Just me and my family. :rotfl2:

Oh, wait, I think Wendy is going too if she gets the go ahead to go at all from her boss.

Cheryl, how was the ToT party last night? :cool1: I hope you had fun.

I've been checking the temps for our trip. So far it's not looking too bad.

10/13 - 81
10/14 - 82
10/15 - 80
10/16 - 76
10/17 - 78
10/18 - 81

I like those 70's!! Wish there were more of them though. :wizard:

You better seriously hurry up on the spaying thing. Your little lady is probably gearing up to come into heat pretty soon, any time after 6 months, and fall is one of the "seasons". If you spay before her first heat, you decrease her chance of breast cancer by an additional 15% over spaying her before the age of 3. Also, if she comes into heat, you will have every gonad sporting male dog for a mile around sniffing about your yard. What fun!!
Also if she is heat at time of surgery, more $$$ and more dangerous.

The above public service announcement was brought to you by DR.amysue!!!
AMYSUE

Her spay surgery is scheduled for October 24th, it was the soonest I could get at the humane society in Garden Grove. (No offense Amy;) )My vet wanted to charge me $300 for the surgery. Yeah, I can't afford that. The humane society is wayyyy lesss.

So far only 13 votes in the breakfast poll. Unless you don't care where you eat, make sure you vote. :cool1:

Hi everybody! I got home yesteday from DLR and just CRASHED! Am just now getting up and about. I will upload photos to photobucket tonight and provide a link.

Steve and I met up with Lesley (Tink33), Chris (Califgirl) and Mary Jo (Mary Jo) on Fri. night for dinner at Storyteller's before the TOT party. It was really fun to see them again--then we all went the the party (which had already started) It was PACKED!! Much busier than we anticipated. We went our separate ways at that point--although we ran into them many times during the evening. Steve and I spent our time hitting the treat lines and meeting characters. Took bunches of photos . . . . I wanted to go on Soarin'--there was no line!-- but Steve (wimp) thought he might get sick since we had just had dinner. So we continued on. All the costumes were so cute--what was interesting was they were all different--many creative people out there, I'll tell you. We did go on Toy Story Mania--because being a boy Steve will take any opportunity to best me at a game. (He's still trying to get over his multiple losses to me when we are watching Jeopardy.   )

That was the only ride we went on--we watched a few of the musical acts and then late in the evening stopped at Pacific Wharf and shared a soup in a bread bowl (the corn chowder--yummy!) and watched people taking pictures with Jack Sparrow and then Captain Hook.

It was really cool--actually drizzled at one point.

So, we had a great time and then ended the evening staying overnight at the Grand Californian, so who could ask for more! Steve had to leave so I spent yesterday at DL and DCA on my own . . . rode Buzz twice (we won't talk about scores) and went on Haunted Mansion Holiday. Otherwise, I didn't go on a lot . . . . just people watched. It was funny in some places because it was "Gay Days"--red shirts EVERYWHERE. At one point the Mark Twain was filled with red shirts hootin and hollerin as it went around the Rivers of America. Quite funny. It was also funny to see some of the good ol boys who had worn their red Nebraska Cornhuskers or red Trojans shirts . . . . hee hee--you could tell in some cases that they were a bit unnerved by the fact that all the gay guys were also in red shirts. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: The only really bad thing was that all the food places were packed too--I never did have breakfast . . . . so ended up grabbing some snacks here and there.

So, like I said I will upload photos later.

Talk to you all soon!

Yeah, I gotta eat. And I DO like me some beer. Will you do rope drop with me Friday AM come hell or high water or...other extraneous circumtances?

AMYSUE

Darn skippy I will. I will be up and ready and in line with you before rope drop. Hell, high water or misty rain ruining my hair and making it look like a brilo pad......I'll be there with you.

Beth - There is a Shakey's right over the free way from the Hojo's. We could probably do it there. Or see if there is a place at the Hojo we can do it and we can have it delivered from there. And we can all hit up the BevMo too.

I think last time there was a conference room that Lorealle offered us . . . . including tables and chairs. It might be more "private" (meaning, we can raise cane without disturbing others--LOL)

Oh and girls--Steve has graciously offered to jump out of a cake for us--and do a belly dance (and he says he has the belly for it :lmao: :lmao: )

Can I join you girls? :goodvibes

Sure thing!

Wooohoooo!:woohoo: DBF James offered the same thing. But his was mostly in the hopes that he could catch a LPF. ;)

If we could get a conference room that would be great. We could then get it set up so we could all be one group, circle type thing, instead of being all seperated or at one long table.

Ooohhhh--we could get both DBF Steve and DBF James--any other guys want to join? LOL (I'm sure that would be quite the sight!) Steve doesn't even know the LPF is a possibility . . . . actually he was teasing this weekend because it was "Gay Days"--so he was saying it was a good thing he was with me because his chances of getting a date with any of the women there were pretty slim . . . .

I agree that the conf. room would be a good idea . . . . .although Shakey's sure did bring back the memories . . . . . didn't even know there were some still around!

Hi everyone! OMG, what a busy day I've had here. Finally home and kicking back.

Anyway, Cheryl I'm glad to hear you had a nice time!!! I can't wait to go.

Stacie, I will ask Lorealle first, and if not then we can go from there. I didn't know there were any Shakey's left either. Wow, that brings back memories. :rotfl:

A get together/meet sounds great. I'm new to the board so it would be so cool to meet everyone:goodvibes

Hi Lilycat!

Welcome to the Ladies Fun Trip!! :welcome:

Read page one, and you will get some kind of idea what is going on.

In the mean time, Beth our official leader will probably contact you too.:flower3:

Hi Lilycat/Heather! I think a meet and greet is a great idea too. Kind of a nice way to ease into the trip. :thumbsup2

I'm sure Sarah (Sahbushka) has been filling you in on all the details, but if you ever have any questions or ideas please don't hesitate to post. :)

Question for anyone going to the mini meet and the Cafe Orleans dinner~

Is anyone interested in sharing the meal with me that night? I know there is no way I'll be able to finish it all myself.

I've been looking at the menu and this is what I'm thinking I'd like to try:

Pommes Frites - Traditional French-fried potatoes tossed with Parmesan cheese, garlic and parsley, served with a Cajun spice remoulade $4.99

Mardi Gras Chicken Sandwich - Succulent chicken breast, marinated in olive oil and Cajun spices, then lightly blackened. Nestled on a toasted multi grain roll with our own avocado giardinere relish, crisp lettuce and tomatoes. Served with tossed, tender greens. $15.99

"Mickey" shaped Beignets - Topped with powdered sugar and served with raspberry coulis and vanilla creme anglaise $6.99

Are those items "shareable"? Does anyone know? Was anyone else thinking of ordering those same items, and interested in sharing?
If so, let me know. :)
