Hi Steph! Aw man, don't you hate it when stuff like that happens?? Yes, it could always be worse, but still. It's frustrating isn't it?

I'm sorry about the hassles with the tires and all. I hope that once it's all taken care of you can still make up the anniversary dinner and movie.

Oh and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY a day late! :)

Happy_Anniversary_Heart.jpg

Thanks Beth. We hope to try again when we're home...only a little over 3 weeks and we'll be on a plane.

It sounds like you had a nice time with your mom. I have to ask what is Brown Beauty frosting?
I saw National Treasure 2 and liked it. How was Bucket List? I'd like to see

Oops! Looks like I cut too much off--but to answer your question--Bucket List was good--a little sad though too. But funny in many parts. Jack Nicholson is definitely Jack Nicholson in this movie (if you know what I mean) (man--is he looking old or what?) I wouldn't let the kids see it for some language issues.

Steph--I hope your weekend is better than your Thursday--car issues are a major pain in the you-know-what. My new assistant had bad news on the cost to repair her car on Thurs. -- she took a late lunch to go get it and on her way stopped at Marie Callender's--she said she was just going to buy one piece but then figured it wasn't that much for the whole thing--LOL--I think she and I will get along great!

Oh, and Beth--Brown Beauty Frosting is a dark chocolate frosting that is absolutely the yummiest I've ever had. My Mom has made it ever since I was a kid and it's a tradition in our family to have chocolate cake with this frosting for the Fourth. The only "issue" with the recipe is that there is some raw egg in it (but we've never gotten sick! I think the chocolate counteracts any bad stuff (LOL) :lmao: ) If anyone wants the recipe I'll get it and send it to you.

Good to know the Bucket List is good. Dh and I really want to watch it. Your assistant sounds like my kind of person too....Love Marie Callender's. The brown beauty frosting sounds great. I'm the only one in the house that likes dark chocolate. I would love the recipe. Thanks Sheryl.

Thanks for the info.
I think we are going to rent Bucket List tonight then. :thumbsup2

That's to neat you and your mom have that 4th of July tradition of having that cake. It's fun to have little things like that to look forward to. Unfortunately I am not a dark chocolate fan. But thanks so much for the offer. :) Seems like you'll have several other takers! :rotfl:

It's not definite yet but am I crazy for thinking about going to Disneyland on Friday?

It would just be my little sister and me. My parents are going away for a church elders' camping trip and I thought it would be a fun thing to do.

You're never crazy for thinking that! LOL Even if it's hot and crowded there are things you can do to take it easy and stay cool. You don't have to go commando style.

I'm just a tad worried. I haven't been during mid summer in a LONG time, I can't even remember when!

Hi Ladies!

I hope you are all having a wonderful long weekend. I'm sure you all deserved it.

I've got to have Beth take me off the list for the trip. "boohoo" We do 'month end' every month. Depending on how the month ends and how fast the other offices are at sending us their stuff. By Thursday I have 3 days of work to enter. It was Friday this week because we were off on Tuesday and I still needed help to get half of it entered. (My job sucks)

It's just as well. Airline prices are crazy. I can only imagine what they will be like by the end of the year. As it is I'm thinking of not trying to get two days in December this year because of airfare costs.

Here's hoping I win the lottery and I can still come!!!!

Hi everyone.:wave2:

I hope everyone is doing well and had a great 4th of July. I know, I know.....long time no see. I've been over on the dark side of the boards planning a big family trip to WDW in December, so I haven't been "home" on the Disneyland boards for awhile. But I finally got our airfare bought, reservations made, and even all but one of our ADRs made, so I'm free to come back to civilization again.:goodvibes

We just watched The Bucket List. It was good. Sad, but good. :)

DH and I just watched "The Bucket List" too. I agree, it was good but a little sad. We also watched "Vantage Point" which was good, "Spiderwick Chronicles" was good, "Definately Maybe" was good, "The Eye" which was okay, and "Strange Wilderness" which was dumb.

We lead boring lives.

Hi everyone! Just wanted to stop in and say a quick hello. My in-laws are in town so we are visiting with them and then tomorrow we are going to take the twins to Chuck E Cheese and then come back to the house for cake and presents for their b-day.

Talk to ya'll later. :)

CAPRI! Hey there stranger!

So, I guess since you are finalizing your WDW trip you aren't going to be needing those HoJo ressies in Dec? Have ya canceled them yet? I still haven't planned a holiday trip for my family and am thinkin . . . ya know, just thinkin . . . :scratchin :rolleyes1

Anyway, just want to say we miss ya around here, but I completely understand how overwhelming and all-encompassing planning a WDW trip can be (which is exactly why I have never done it myself). :rotfl:

Hope that once you're all done with the planning, you come hang out with us some more. :goodvibes

You're so sweet, I've been missing you all too.

I'm pretty much all done planning, finally (except for one ADR, which I just can't decide), but boy, is there A LOT of planning for a WDW trip. Especially when it involves a MIL and BIL.:goodvibes

I haven't cancelled my HOJO ressie yet......2 NQQ1 rooms at the Entertainment rate for December 9-16 (7 nights), although Lorealle said she could probably change it to 2 NQQ2 rooms if I needed to save a little more. You are welcome to it for a little pre-holiday get away for the family.:thumbsup2

I'm sure Lorealle could switch it over to your name/credit card, and then you could change the dates and/or room type to whatever you want.

It'll be a nice time to go for a little pre-Christmas trip and add to your holiday spirit:santa: .....crowds should be lower during those dates:yay: ......boy, that castle sure looked pretty last year:rolleyes1......just giving you something to think about.

I can't wait to hear how your WDW trip goes. I have been 3 times as an adult without kiddos. It is simply overwhelming. There is so much to do. But those trips really make me appreciate and love DL so much more!

Anyhow, I would love to be second in line for your December reservations. I am going in Feb with a large group, and in March for girls only. But...my Mom just lost her Mom after extensive care for the last 3 years. She is really wanting to take a trip with her grandkids after so much missed time with them. I would love to help us get into the DLH for a really special trip, but the expense is just not doable this year for a couple of my sisters. So, I would rather go with HOJO's and make the trip happen. I have not been able to secure a Ent. book rate for dates that work for us. Not to give you the long story, but...

If it turns out that the resi's are available...
Thanks,
Tracey

Alright we can't be on the 2nd page. So how was everyone's weekend? I hope you all had a great time. Before I forget with the unexpected car expenses this weekend I am no tenative for the October mini-meet. I have to see if I come home from my family vacation next month with enough $ to spend on the trip.

Hi everyone!!!

Capri, good to see you!! We've missed you around here. I'm glad your WDW planning is mostly done. It can be a lot to think about.

Shelley, I hate that I have to take you off the list!!! :sad2: Airfare does suck right now. But if anything should change for you, just let me know!!

Cristabel, did you end up at DL after all?

Steph, I hope it works out and you are able to still join us in October. :wizard:

Tracey, I'm sorry to hear about your mom's loss. I bet spending time with the grandkids will help cheer her up and I hope things work out to make it a really nice trip.

Well, I'm pooped. The inlaws just left. We did the twins b-day thing today. Chuck E Cheese, then cake and presents. I'm ready to call it a day and it's only about 5:40!! Got some cleaning up to do and then I'm going to chill out with the tv the rest of the night.
See ya!!

Thanks Beth!
Wow, twins and chuckee cheese. I am tired just thinking about it!

Pssst! Just sneaking into say [in case no one had mentioned it yet] that the Deluxe Rooms that you have reserved for next year?

Well they all have microwaves in them now! [FINALLY!] :goodvibes

Hope everyone is well!
Lorealle
