all I can say Beth is that it is a good thing you are not DL this weekend--it was 102 here yesterday . . . and warming up. Valleys are supposed to be around 104 this weekend. I was thinking of going out to DL for a few hours Sunday morning . . . . but maybe not! (well, maybe if I go when it opens at 8 a.m. and then leave when it gets hot . . . . .hmmmmmmm.......)

I hope everyone is doing ok. Here's a shout out to Katie, Michelle, Capri and all of the other's we haven't seen much of lately.

Hey Beth .

I haven't been on the boards much lately, but I finally had time to check-in today and I hope everyone is enjoying their summer.

Michelle has been entertaining her friend and 2 kids from out of town so I don't think she has time to come on the boards. I met up with them on Monday at Disneyland so my BIL could sign in her friend and kids to DL (my BIL works for Disney). It was PACKED and hot on Monday.

Steph~ I'm glad you pulled through your surgury OK and I hope you heal quickly  .

How about we meet in the middle at say.....hmmm 82 With a little breeze :confused3 ?????
Well, it's a start. How about 78 with a little breeze? I'd prefer to stay under 80. Thanks. :thumbsup2

:scared1: Yikes!!! That is just nasty. As much of a Disneyland lover as I am, you couldn't pay me to go there when it's 104.

Well, ok, maybe you could pay me. LOL But I'd be hanging out in the A/C buildings the whole time! :rotfl: If you decide to brave the temps on Sunday I hope you have fun.

Hi Katie! Glad to see you around.
I hope Michelle is having fun with her visitors. That's nice you all were able to meet up. :)

Hi everyone! I hope you're all having a good day so far. We've got tickets to go see the Ringling Brother's Barnum and Bailey Circus tonight at the Orleans, so I'm looking forward to taking the kids there.

I don't think I ever went to the circus as a kid. If I did, I sure don't remember it. We bought the tickets quite a while ago, and I haven't told them about it so it will be a surprise. (well, Adam found out but the girls don't know) Anyway, I'm looking forward to it. :)

Hello! I'm on lunch and posting from my phone. How you are all doing well! I'm learning a lot in my new position but hopefully I'm have time to DIS again soon!

Thanks for the thoughts. How are you doing? I'm hoping that you still don't have any morning sickness?

Well I had my follow-up with the specialist today. As he opened the door and walked in he said the most wonderful words "It's benign, not cancerous at all!". He said that the incision is healing nicely and next week I have to go back so he can removed this protective strip thing that is over the incision right now.

Thank you all for being so supportive and keeping me in your thoughts. You all are a great group of women.

I've never been to the circus either (and I've never taken my kids). Let me know if everyone enjoyed it and maybe I'll have to look into it.

Still no morning sickness (thank God). And I've also made it out of my 1st trimester so the doctor says it's now less than a 15% chance for me to have a miscarriage.

That's great news. I'm glad you got through all the drama OK and now you can celebrate (well at least after you are completely healed).

I am so happy that everything worked out ok! Sorry you had to go through the surgery but at least now you have the piece of mind that everything's ok!

Am I allowed to vent in here?

I guess yesterday my husband's sister's boyfriend died from a fast staph infection. Awful! My MIL, that I haven't not seen or spoken to for about 1.5 years (just couldn't take how rude she was to me any longer), became a drama queen and was making things very weird last night. Today after much continued drama, she drove herself to her daughter's, and my hubby took the bus up there, to pay condolences to my SIL. (I don't go b/c now is not the time for a rambunctious 4 year old to visit SIL and I can't really go without him)

MIL kindly drove hubby home today, but then insisted on coming in to see our new place. Our landlady is MIL's apartment complex manager (it's how we met our landlady, when WE were living in the complex before MIL moved there) and so MIL saw pictures of the condo before we even did.

We had had a plan, that MIL would come here AFTER everything was pretty, when I was prepared and cute with makeup and non-cruddy clothes, perhaps for a house-warming. But she insisted on coming in today, when I had been searching for crematoriums for SIL's boyfriend (but SIL has no power of attorney, so boyfriend's sister has taken that job (and expense) away from SIL), watching DS, lazing around after working hard for a week to get the house nicer from our move-in...

AUGH. As they came in I was desperately putting clean dishes away and dirty dishes in the d'washer, getting crumbs up off the table, things off the floor, and so on. So of course I was a sweaty mess as she walked in. AUGH.

I know it's crazy to think of me me me at a time like this, but I don't know SIL's now late boyfriend, I barely even believed SIL until late this afternoon (she comes up with some whoppers), and, well, I guess I'm just self-centered. :worried:

But still, NOT the way I wanted my first visit, in such a long time, with MIL to be!

I gotta have a beer, and now hubby TRULY owes me the March trip gol'dernit!

Yeah he does!::yes:: That's insane! Ugh, my mom would have lost it. She NEVER has people over when the house is a mess. I can understand (because I'm stuck cleaning like crazy when we're expecting people) your frustration, but only because of my mom. I'm no neat nelly.

Oh no Molly! I totally understand difficult MILs. Your hubby put you in an uncomfortable situation, but I also know how hard it is for men to stand up to said difficult MILs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Vent away, sister!:furious:

Hi girls, how's everyone doing?
It's still hot over here even though it is about 10pm. I have the whole weekend off thanks to my job being only M-TH! We're going to the beach on Saturday :cloud9:Probably Carpinteria and then hit Ventura on our way home. I decided on my last DL trip, earlier this month, that I'm avoiding DL the WHOLE summer. I'm working M-TH and gas is just too expensive (+food and it's ridiculous) so it kind of defeats the purpose. It's also TOO hot and TOO crowded, not much love there.

It's ok though, I'll be there for Mickey's Trick-or-Treat Party! Who's with me?:cool1:
