Love the pics Kelly. Making me want to re think my trip I got planned. I loved going during holiday times, but this year I'm looking at going late August. UGH! Even then I may have to cancel that trip.

Hi ladies. I've been busy today with kids' school, piano lessons and then I took my MIL to see Australia at the theater. Good grief that movie is LONG! It was good, but really REALLY long. So I guess I've done my good daughter-in-law deed for the holiday season.

The best news? My dh is finally working on the Christmas card. He's a graphic designer so he is expected to do the card every year and he usually does something really special, but the last two years he has procrastinated way too long making me very VERY nervous (which is a big reason why I didn't sign up for the exchange -- sorry, but I didn't know if he would actually get his act together and get them done this year.) Anyway, they are looking good so far. Hopefully we'll send them out for printing tomorrow. Whew!

I've been spending way too much time looking at the GCH live webcam and kicking myself for not making DLR happen for us this holiday season. I'm trying to refocus some of my energies away from the Disboards, so I might be scarce around here until after the new year.

Kelly, I love the WDW pics. I hope someday to see WDW all decked out for the holidays. BTW, I'm a LOST fanatic too. Can't wait until the new season starts.

Whew...today was a busy one! I had my second finalist candidate on campus today for his interview and while I barely had a second to myself, I also feel like I accomplished nothing on my to do list. And then, after that wrapped up with dinner at the Hard Rock (not my favorite, but it was where the candidate wanted to go since he had never been to one before!), I had to go back to campus for a little holiday mixer/thank you event that my staff was throwing for our volunteers. So, I literally just walked in the door a few minutes ago, kissed Ty goodnight as his dad is putting him to bed and headed to the living room to see what's going on in the world.

Tomorrow I pick the final person up at the airport in the late afternoon, but in general the day looks a little less busy. But, then Friday is a lather, rinse, repeat of Monday and today (minus the holiday social thank goodness)!

Have a great night everyone!

OH AMY!!!

Did you hear that? :rolleyes1 LOL (Jane this is for you too if you are interested)
I said I'd let you know if I saw any deals for locals and right now through February 28 I saw that KA, Zumanity, and Mystere are only $49. That's 60% off it says. PM me if you want the details and number to call.

I've seen those three already so I won't be going again. Of those three I liked KA the best, then Zumanity and finally Mystere. But they are all good.

Alrighty, night ladies!

I heard you, I heard you!!

I'm just glad there are only a few pages of posts to catch up on today!! My workweeks are so busy this time of year and I feel like I'm missing out on so much on this thread.

Please send me the info. I will pm you also. I'll have to pit KA on my christmas list!! I was going to try to get paul to get the special price Mamma Mia tickets, but you have to use them before the 22nd or 23rd of December, so this would be better!!

Thanks Beth!

Sounds like a busy week Jane! Hang in there.....remember....you get to go to DL soon!!!!

Another drive by here.

I caught up on all of the posts, but don't have much time to respond. I'm really tired. :rolleyes1

I just have to mention to Kelly, that I loved your pictures, and I agree about the decorations between the two parks. I think it is because DL is smaller and more intimate. DL crams so much into everything. The Osbourne lights were pretty neat though, and so were EPCOT's arches. But just comparing DL to the MK, I think DL wins hands down.

Everyone else have a good night!!!

Thanks everyone for looking at my pics! I finished my album last night and it is funny because I always buy an album from the park to put all my pics in and I was so worried about having TOO many pics that I didn't put them all in at first and then I had lots of pages left over lol. So then I put the leftovers at the back cuz then I was just too darn lazy to go back and put them back where they belonged and I STILL had room. So then I added all the photopass pics and yup STILL more room. Sheesh. But that is ok. I can always put other pics in if and when we go back again. I like to have albums devoted just to one trip. I have LOTS of albums LOL.

Anyway it was fun getting everything put together. I watched my cd of the osborne lights and candlelight procession. WOW the osbornes lights was awesome. I am SO gladded I lugged my video camera with me. I stopped taking it to DL a long time ago cuz I go so much it was getting to be over kill but it IS nice to have the video once you get home. It is fun to relive it and to see the parks and the kids when they were smaller. But I am SO glad I brought it this time because the lights were amazing. We have a huge big screen and I made the investment and bought a sony digital that records straight to dvd and it was JUST like being there. The sound and picture were amazing! So now when I need a fix I can just watch it on the tv!! :)

I also recorded some of candlelight but I SO wish I had brought it last year to DL because I still think last year's was SO much better. But if we go again next year I will remember to take it. We are already talking about another holiday trip in Dec 09. That will probably be our trips for the year. March, April and Dec. Gotta have my Disney holiday fix!! Plus I didn't get to see DL this year during Christmas!! One of these years I want to go over New Years. I KNOW it is a nightmare and my AP is blocked during that time but I HAVE to see the fireworks (with the other MASS of humanity) and plus it is Katy's real birthday so I would love to do it just once. We have gone down twice over New Year's for the Rose parade. The first year we went was the year it absolutely POURED rain. It was miserable but we have a friend in the marine corps and at the end of the route is a marine station and we basically got to watch for free. But we were soaked to the gills. So the next year we did a do over. The first year we drove down ON New Year's day I think it was cuz that year the parade was on the 2nd because New Year's day was a Sunday and they don't do parades on Sundays for some reason. Then as SOON as it was over we drove home. That was NUTS. 2 6 hour drives in 2 days. CRAZY! So then the next year we drove down and did like a week long trip and did a day at Disneyland and a day at Universal and took Katy to the movie theater in Hollywood and to the ice cream parlor there and celebrated her birthday and it was MUCH better. George Lucas was the grand marshall and we got to meet him and got pics. It was awesome. And we stayed and walked through and saw all the floats up close. It was a blast!

MUCH better!

But anyway SOME day I will do Disney at New Years. Anyway I digress. Today I am off to the field trip with about a million 2nd graders and my older daughter's class with is a 2nd/3rd combo so wish my luck and patience. ;)

Oh and Katy came home with a piece of binder paper with this scribbled info of her friends address saying sleepover and noon for that birthday on Saturday. I was like UH NO! I was like there is NO phone number on here and we don't do sleepovers at people's houses we don't know. Of course she was upset but I am "mean". We got the info for the pageant's this weekend and I am going to be a busy bee as it is taking the girls to this retirement home on Saturday and then Shelby to the birthday and somehow getting Lynn to work and as USUAL she doesn't know WHEN she is working and then Sunday they are doing performances at both services and then afterwords they are doing a thing called the gingerbread project. They are serving lunch at church and then building gingerbread houses. So that should be fun.

You guys are making me feel WAYYYYY to excited about the trip, and theres still 2 months left yikes:scared1: lol. I'm soooo feeling the need to pick up some trip clothes while sales are good (big sales day after christmas). Gotta love a sale you can load up on more things lol. If any of you ladies have verizon, and need to catch me before the trip it's free to txt, and such just wanted to offer that.
Hi,

I know I am excited for the trip. We have so much fun stuff planned, that we need to squeeze in a few rides too! :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

I was wondering if you are from Hawaii?

Kelly,

I've been there on New Year's Eve!!! Probably the most crowded I have ever seen it!! Mayhem!!!! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

But we still had alot of fun. They gave out hats and noise makers, and the fireworks were awesome. This was in 2004, before the new fireworks show for the 50th, so I'm not sure what they do now. But is has to be spectacular!!!! :woohoo:

Yeah Mel I've always wanted to try it but been afraid of those crowds. But then I HAVE been there when the park was at capacity so I know what it is like to be shoulder to shoulder but I guess it is worth it to see it just once. ;)

We did the happiest birthday thing with Katy that one time and this year for Shelby's birthday we are doing Goofy's kitchen (in April). So some time I would like to go and do the New Year's thing. We have never been on anyone's ACTUAL birthday. Always right around it. We were there on the 29th of December but Katy's birthday is actually the 31st. So close but no cigar LOL. Anyway gotta run to the field trip. Have a good day everyone! :)

Didn't you love Zumanity?!?!? That show was awesome. I don't know why some people said they didn't like it. :confused3 I guess if you are really conservative I can see being put off by some of the things. Lord knows I don't have that problem. :lmao:
Mystere was certainly good, but in my opinion it paled in comparison to KA and Love. Those were spectacular.

We saw Mystere and Love, but we really liked Mystere the best. Our expectation was that the show should really highlight the acrobatic features, and with Love it was so much about the music and the story. Don't get me wrong, we thought Love was awesome, but for this type of show, we preferred Mystere.

DH and I work together for the last time tomorrow. (We are both nurses on the same floor.) It's been really cool to get to see each other with our work personalities on.
Aww, I'm sorry about that. That must have been interesting. I don't know too many people who could work with their spouses without wanting to do them bodily harm. :rotfl: But it sounds like it was working out for you two.

Ugh, finals week is such a stressful time.
I bet! Hang in there. :wizard:

Beth - you need to learn how to multi-task! I mean, I can have a glass of wine in one hand and still be able to do the laundry (not very well of course, but it still happens ;) ).
Maybe I should try that! It might dull the pain of doing laundry which I detest. :sad2:

Hi everyone!
Hey! How's it going? All ready for Christmas? Did your snow ever go away?

I loved going during holiday times, but this year I'm looking at going late August.
Going where in late August?? WDW?? Are you mad? The weather will be absolutely horrid!!! :scared1:

Hi ladies. I've been busy today with kids' school, piano lessons and then I took my MIL to see Australia at the theater.
I thought Hugh Jackman was so smokin hot in the trailer for that movie. :smokin:
Glad your Christmas cards are getting done. Now step away from the webcam!!

Whew...today was a busy one!
Hope things slow down for you! You are going to be more then ready for your DL trip, I'm sure.

I'm just glad there are only a few pages of posts to catch up on today!! My work weeks are so busy this time of year and I feel like I'm missing out on so much on this thread.
Nah, nothing important. But I do hope things slow down for you. And I hope you are able to see one of the shows. You deserve some time out!

How cool is that!
Good luck on the field trip. And for what it's worth, I would have veteod the sleep over too. Not when it's someone we don't know and the info is so sketchy.

I know I am excited for the trip. We have so much fun stuff planned, that we need to squeeze in a few rides too!
 Darn, I knew there was something I was forgetting!!!! :rotfl:

Another drive by here.
While you're out driving would you mind picking up some milk and bread and dropping it off! Thanks!! :thumbsup2

Have you seen KA? It has a story too, but I felt they really worked the acrobatics in as well. That's my favorite. The stage is even amazing. I won't give too much away, but it almost becomes one of the performers the way it moves. Really great.

Just a quick reply, trying to get cookies made, the house decorated, presents bought and wrapped... You know, all the stuff that Moms do!! And I have to go out and get Christine next Monday-Thursday from college and bring all her stuff home AND stop at Disneyland for a day or 2!! Can't wait!! I love it when it's all decorated!

Ah yes, the stuff that mom's do. I was thinking that last night as I was writing out more Christmas cards to friends and old coworkers of Ruben's, some of whom I've never met, and wondering why he wasn't doing it himself!! LOL Luckily, I don't mind doing the cards.

I hope you guys have a great time at DL. It's nice you'll get to spend that time together there. :santa:

(Yes, I am avoiding doing what I should be doing. What's your point? :rolleyes1)

You Are a Fruitcake!

You taste like nothing else in this world.
And get ready, you're about to get tossed!

What Crappy Christmas Gift Are You?

I guess that confirms it! I'm a fruitcake!!! :rotfl2:
