Hi all,

I'm so glad the weekend is here...it is my only time to catch up on schoolwork, housework, and more important things, like this thread!!

This week was a little rocky. Still crazy at work, sleeping very little, and just when the weekend was in sight..I lost my keys.

Don't know how, don't know where, but they are GONE.

So not only did I get stuck at work, have to call my brother to come fetch me and take me to the daycare to pick up the munchkins etc (it was Paul's gym night and he never answers the phone when he is doing his man-wrestling), but now, 3 days later, still no keys!

I really don't care about anything on the ring as I have extras for the house and cars and got a new office key made, but my darn mailbox key was on there and of course it was the only one we had!! I have done most of my holiday shopping online and have big orders either coming or here from toys r us, disney, etc!! I am starting to stress out. :headache:

For those of you who don't live here in Vegas, mailbox keys are a big deal. Especially when you live in a gated community. You pretty much need your first born at the post office to get one, then you have to wait. So after searching everywhere for our lease (this is what we needed to produce when I got the first key) and not finding it, I am off to the post office in hopes that utility bills will work.

Cross your fingers for me.

Hope you all had a wonderful week. I am counting down the days and even more excited now thanks to Heather (LittleBlackRaincloud)!! :woohoo:

The castle is beautiful. The decorations were so pretty as well. I love the holiday season at DL.
I will post more as I remember more. Let me know if anyone has questions.

There are some questions on the forum about the "light show" down Main Street...if it happened last night, and what it was like if it happened. :)

Hi everybody--slow day on the Girls' Only thread today!

I am at work (as usual). Actually getting some work done--I finally hooked up in my office the Bose radio my Mom had given me for my 50th birthday a year and a half ago (ok--don't tell her--but it doesn't sound that much better than the $50 clock radio I was using before--it does have a remote control though and that is cool)

It's starting to get cloudy here and there is a chance of rain next week--yay! It has been so warm here and so un-Fall-like--I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week. A local radio station started playing all Christmas music all day from now until Christmas so I have been listening to it all day and it is helping me start to get in the mood for the holidays.

Maybe this year I will actually have a chance to make Christmas cookies--last year I never had time! The other good thing is that my family and friends have made a pact to greatly scale back the gifts this year. We all have everything we need and don't need more "things"--KWIM?

Anyway--hope everyone's having a good weekend--Stacie sounds like you had a great time despite the crowds at DLR last night--I hope to get there in the next couple of weeks (after Thanksgiving weekend) but I am disappointed that after waiting a year there isn't more "different" on IASW.

TTYL.

I'm here, I'm just feeling really bad. DH just left with the boys. They are getting haircuts. I finally have some peace and quiet to be miserable in.

I love the boys dearly, but they seem to be really fussy when Daddy is watching them. He's such a good Dad, but I think the boys get mad that I'm not doing things for them when I'm home. There sure has been lots of whining around here today... and the boys are fussy also. ;)

I'm so jealous of all of you that can pop in and out of DLR. It sounds like you had a great time though, Stacie. I'm going to echo Molly's question. How did the lights down Main Street look?

I'm glad you're getting some work done Toocherie. I had a bose radio. I did like it, but couldn't tell a huge difference also. It works by bouncing sound waves off of walls. At work, the padded walls of my cubicle absorbed the sound rather than bounced it, and at home in the living room, I think I had too many windows for it to sound great. I put it in the bathroom, and it sounded awesome! This was back in the day when I had an office job. Now I'm a nurse and don't get to listen to music much.

I hope you're having fun cleaning Beth, want to come here and do some more when you're done? I'll buy you pizza! :)

OK, that's all for now. Talk with you later.

Heather

So I received my copies of Eclipse and Breaking Dawn when I got home Thursday night. I had already read about half of Eclipse so I continued where I left off. I finished that book that night and started Breaking Dawn. I didn't stop reading Breaking Dawn until 4am!! So I accidentally slept through my alarm and missed class:rolleyes1but continued to read Breaking Dawn when I woke up :lmao:I finished it in the afternoon (around 3-4pm).

It's bittersweet, finishing the series. I'm so happy with the way it ended but I'm sad it's all done. I did start reading Midnight sun last night but I had to stop around 10pm because we watched Hellboy 2 using the computer via projector. So far I'm really liking it!

Hellboy 2 was one funny crazy movie. It used elements of star wars, LOTR, warcraft, the Incredibles, biblical references etc. I like Ron Perlman, he's funny.

OK BACK TO DISNEY STUFF: I'M GOING TO DISNEYLAND IN 11 DAYS! :cool1::hippie:

Don't be jealous of Edward's love for me.

Hmmm...I guess I was too busy looking at his face to notice his hairy chest. :confused3

Uhm, only little boys have bare chests...or guys on swim team :lmao:Now I'm not saying I like hairy beast men but some hair is ok. If the have no hair it means they shave (because men are to manly for waxing:lmao:) and it means that it feels stubbly

ouch!

Oh my. They did not show that trailer at our showing. I just checked it out and I would NOT have been OK seeing that in the middle of the night in a dark theater. Creepy.

I remember thinking some of the trailers where out of place, being too adult for the average age of Twilights audience. I was way happy to see the new Harry Potter trailer though. Now I need to reread the Half-Blood Prince, because seeing the trailer reminded me I don't remember much from the book. At least I have until July to reread it!

Yeah I wouldn't want my little 8 year old sister to see those kind of trailers

HARRY POTTER! :cool1:You should get the book on audio CD from your library, narrated by Jim Dale. I like it better than reading sometimes, only because Jim Dale is a great narrator. I was so upset that they postponed the movie. This month would have been awesome! With Twiligth, HP, Bolt movies coming out.

Oh man, that sucks!! I hope you are able to get things figured out with the key. :wizard:

Yes, you must make Christmas cookies. My kids and I love baking this time of year. Today I made apple crisp and that DL pumpkin muffin recipe. Mmmm.

I'm scaling way back this year too. We have to. Things are tight here and I know there is nothing I need. I'm buying for the kids and a few family members and that's it.

For pizza?? I'm there!
Take care. I hope you feel better. Do what I do and take obscene amounts of NyQuil. :cloud9:

Blech! I do not like a hairy chest. Some is ok. I mean a little tiny bit. But they made it sound like he was covered. :scared:

Well, my house is clean. I've baked. We put the kids tree up and it's waiting for my mom to arrive so she can help the kids decorate it.
Not sure how much I'll be on since she'll be here until Tuesday, but I'll check in at least once a day. You know I can't stay away. LOL

See ya'll tomorrow!

Beth, you're my hero! I don't even have the fall stuff out yet!!

Good Morning!

I've been on the Dis for many years now, and usually things go really smoothly here.

Right now, there is a post where it's starting to get heated. Ugh. I hate that. I had posted earlier trying to give a middle of the road answer, and then things get fired up. It's stuff like that that keeps me from posting a lot on here. I'm very greatful for how fun and relaxing this thread is. I have enough stress in my life and don't want to read a thread of people arguing. There's a reason I've been here for over 5 years, and yet have less than 500 posts. KWIM? Anyways, thanks to all the ladies here for making this such a fun place to be.

I'm starting to feel better. It's nice having a weekend off. I called off sick yesterday, and have today off so that DH can go to the Cardinals/Giants game. I'll miss him.

I started feeling better last night, and made some monkey bread. mm mmm good. My older DS tried it for the first time, and had the biggest smile on his face! :goodvibes It made me feel like such a good Momma.

OK, talk with you all later!

Yay for Monkey Bread! My mom made that for us when we were growing up, and my DS would probably love it too! Thanks for reminding me about it... I remember that it was pretty easy to make, so now I just need to call my mom and get the recipe.

Glad to hear you are feeling better!

I am so sorry to hear about you losing the keys... what an absolute pain to deal with.

But, I have to agree with you that while I was already super excited for March, Heather has upped my excitement about the Girl's Trip by about 1000%!

Jane, if you want my recipe let me know! It is super easy, I have a monkey bread stonewear mold that I got at Williams Sonoma. It makes it look so fancy! DH asked me to make more this morning! :goodvibes

Amy, Did you ever find your keys?

I'm so glad you all are excited. It's adding to my excitment! :woohoo:

I think we are going to try and call the last winner if she doesn't get her email today. Then, we can shout from the mountaintops our excitment and what we are excited about! ;) I just hope she's just as excited about it as you all are. :goodvibes

Boo for lost keys!

Heather, I hope you're 100% better very soon!

With all this monkey talk lately (monkey bride, monkey bread) I'm thinking you should post the recipe here!! Of course, I am more of a "taker-outer" or a "order-inner" not by choice, just because of my life (Jane and Beth can explain, they saw me attacked by my work phone every few minutes during our mini-meet), but hopefully I will be able to bake during the Holidays!!

And I am still sooooooooo excited! I tried to share with my hubby but of course he just doesn't get it. He just kind of looked at me with this weird expression on his face and then said "you're going on a Disney trip with a bunch of women you don't know?" He has asked me this question about a gazillion times and I keep explaining the trip, yet every time I bring it up he acts suprised. :headache: He better get a grip soon, or he'll be real suprised when I am gone for 5 days and he suddenly realized he has munchkin/house duties. :rolleyes1

Anyhoo....no keys, but I am less stressed now.

I was mostly worried because I did some Christmas shopping for the kids online, and am waiting for 3 deliveries, one of which being the Xbox Guitar Hero World Tour band kit which I couldn't find ANYWHERE and finally found online. So I was panicking that these would get sent back since I don't have my mail keys. You have to be quick with mail here because the post office doesn't deliver to our box. It goes to the community person who delivers it (because we are gated) and sometimes she is slow. So I might get a slip for a package 2 days later and if I don't go get it quick it is returned. Drives me crazy. Anyways, after my panic yesterday, I checked my email to track each package and found that they were all coming either fed-ex or UPS which will come to the door. Phew!!

The the GH3 box came yesterday which is the one I was more worried about so I am good.

Boy I am ranting. Sorry, I got up at 7 to work on school and have had lots of caffeine since.

Well, we are off to take the kids to see "Bolt" in 3D. They are so excited! They've been quoting the commercials all morning (including my hubby, who keeps saying "I'll go get my ball".

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Hey there Jane! I'm soooo glad both of us did the questions. Boy, and it wasn't easy. I missed a couple too. My head hurt after doing those questions. Well well well well worth it though!!!!!!!!

Hope you are having a good weekend. I am sooo jealous that you are heading to the land again in a month!

Wendy, I've been checking our your TR. Looks like you had a great time. We went Oct 19-24 so I just missed the mini-meet. But then, my hubby had to stay home so it was me and my 3 munchkins...so I wouldn't have been great company..lol. Can't wait for the March solo trip!!
