Girls Only Trip (old thread, link to new thread in first post)

DBF and I believed, and yet could not find her the other night. And we both looked really really hard. Still no where in sight.







So the other day my company sent me to a time management seminar, and it was great. I think it was just what I needed, especially now that the holidays are coming up. But now I have to go to the Franklin Covey store to pick out a new planner. The one they gave me at the seminar just isnt me. So I have to now schedule time to get my time scheduler I am stoked about the class and what I learned. If I follow it, I'm sure I will be more productive and more in control. And let me tell you its exactly what I need in my life. And I pledged to the presenter to follow it for at least 21 days. Wish me luck.

I just went (Thursday) to a time management class by Franklin Covey. It was great. My dh is kind of poking fun at me with carrying it with me every where and my list. But I tell you what I finished everything on my list today by 1 and had time to do whatever I wanted.

We can keep each other accountable if you'd like. My 21st day is 11 Dec 08.

We loved it too. Rhino is hilarious. We saw it in 3D which was fun. I wasn't suprised to see John Lasseter's name in the credits. It definitely had a Pixar feel to it. And they showed the preview to the new Pixar movie coming out next year that is called "Up".

I'm finally getting my root canal today. I had to bargain shop for a different endodontist because the first one wanted to charge me almost $3,000! Umm, no, I don't think so!

So I'm feeling better about the price, but still dreading the pain. I'm a big chicken when it comes to dentistry so the fear has set in this morning.

I spent much of the weekend dealing with extended family and having serious discussions (by email mostly) about Christmas this year. The upshot is that we are going to reclaim Christmas in our family. No more stress, worry or guilt over senseless shopping for us. For the first time in a long time, I am actually excited about Christmas and not dreading the season in front of me. Our kids are excited about it too.

I sent them an PM that included the following:

I had decided to invite MommaU4/Beth, Stacielee/Stacie, and Dangermouse/Callie to go with me since within 2 hours of posting here, I had a room, ride, and trip to enjoy. These 3 were so welcoming to me immediately. I then decided that I wanted to take a few more of my new friends since I knew lots of us wanted to go, and that some of us never dreamed it could be possible. I really like to make people happy. It's my 'thing'.

So, I decided to do something I thought would be fun, and tell everyone that the prize would be something everyone would want. That's how I came up with the trivia questions. I knew I couldn't take all of us. I was hoping to get 6 more new friends to join us, but only 4 people decided to answer the trivia questions. I know from 'talking' with them that they really enjoyed it, and I know I really enjoyed researching the questions, so I think my objective was met.

I now have a great group of 8 of us going to Club 33 for Sunday brunch, and I'm so excited!!!!

I'm very greatful for how fun and relaxing this thread is. I have enough stress in my life and don't want to read a thread of people arguing. There's a reason I've been here for over 5 years, and yet have less than 500 posts. KWIM? Anyways, thanks to all the ladies here for making this such a fun place to be.

Okay I'm back from our 20th anniversary cruise! It was a blast!!

Welcome back!!! Can't wait to see some pics.

I'm waiting for the last winner to pick up her PM. Beth is going to call her today or tomorrow depending on when she has time. (Her Mom is visiting.)

I'll try and call her today. Not sure why she hasn't checked in. I just got the kids off to school, and my mom is packing up a bit since she leaves tomorrow, so I have a bit of time right now.

Hey Callie, good luck at the dentist. Tell them how nervous you are. Don't hold back. I hate the dentist too! Last time I went, I started tearing up in the waiting room!!!! I hadn't even made it to the dentists chair yet.
But I've had two root canals in my life, and they aren't all that bad.

I am going to see what that link is about! You've got me intrigued. I usually dread Christmas so I can't imagine what it is.....Thanks.

Hi! I got to ride Small World yesterday. DBF surprised me with a trip to Disneyland. They have all the Holiday stuff up so it was really cool. The boats and the water flume are new. A few parts are scented now, like pine and a sort of sweet/candy smell. I didn’t really notice anything else different. Maybe new paint, things looked brighter. We got to see it “snow” in front of Small World. The crowds weren’t too bad. We stayed till closing (midnight).

That was during the tiem that DS2 was sick, I had bronchitis, started a new job and then DS1 got pneumonia! YIKES! Anyway, just wanted you to know that I didn't respond because things were so crazy, not from any lack of desire to participate or get to know you!

Hi Michelle! No worries! I know that life can get in the way of doing things we want. I did not take anyone's not answering as them not wanting to get to know me. I also understand that trivia and games are not everyone's cup of tea. It just happens to be something that I love to do! I hope everyone is feeling better at your house. I've been sick for the past few days myself. I also hope the new job is going well.



Stacie, it looks like you had lots of fun! I've been on one cruise (Western Carribean with Royal Carribean), and your pictures brought back so many memories for me.

Our diaster drill was not nearly as exciting as yours. We put our vests on and reported to our station, which happened to be the dining room! I was a little less than thrilled to know that if we were going down, I was to report to the dining room and not a lifeboat! At least I would have eaten well during my last moments. Turns out, that the nice hard lifeboats only handle 1/3 of the ship. We were assigned an inflatable life raft, and so were to wait in the dining room until all the boats got off the ship first. Luckily, we never had to use our newly learned skill!
