I just finished looking at all the food pics. I really want one of those corndogs!!!

It looks like I've been accepted into your fine group, and am sooo excited.

The food at Ariel's looks better than it sounded to me. Anyone planning on eating there? I didn't see it as a choice on the front page.

I'm in need of a roomie everyone. If someone wants to room with me PM me. I'll be more than happy to do the calling to book the room. I do not snore (when I'm not pregnant that is!), and like to up and at it in the morning. I like to be at the park for opening.

Oh, and I've never been to DLR before! This will be my frist time, but I'm an experienced WDW visitor.

Yay! I'm excited! :yay:  :cheer2:

WHAT? :scared1: A DLR virgin?? WooHoo! You've just made this trip so much more fun! :cool1: :dance3:

I know StacieLee has reserved 2 rooms, and I would guess that there would be some extra space in one of them for you. We're both early risers and like to get to the parks before park opening, so you'd be in good company.

LOL, yes I'm a virgin!

I'd love to stay with you and Stacie if she also doesn't mind. :cheer2:

Dontcha just love how I'm volunteering her van and rooms when she's not even around? :rolleyes1 :rotfl: While I'm at it, I'll tell ya that she's a really good packer, so don't hesitate "accidentally" leaving some stuff at home, cause Stacie's got ya covered! ;) :rotfl2:

Oh Heather, I forgot to ask you, didn't you just cancel a Christmas trip you had planned at the HoJo? We are having to do the same thing, unfortunately. We were going to be there right around the same time as you as well 12/16-12/19. Why did y'all have to cancel, and did anyone take you up on the offer of the King Suite?

I love traveling with a master packer. Stacie's going to be one of my new best friends (I can feel it!). I can't wait until she can actually talk to/meet me. :rotfl: Of course Callie's my other new best friend for hooking me up. :thumbsup2

Well, we planned to go in Dec, and then changed it to the 1st week of March. We are all new to DLR, and I decided I didn't want to go so close to Christmas. We decided then to go next December, but earlier in the month. We also canceled our March trip deciding to just save our money for a huge 2 week California blow out trip Dec 2009. We are planning on doing the Zoo, SW, LL, and Disney with plenty of down days in between. You should plan on going with us next year! We also wanted to let the boys get a little bigger. They will be 2 and 3 when we go next year.

Oh, and no one has taken me up on the offer for the King Suite. I guess I'll just call and cancel. I'm also going to cancel the first week of March soon. I'm going to wait a little to be absolutely sure we aren't gong then.

ETA-Oh, you said Stacie wasn't around. Is she off having fun?

That sounds like a great time! I grew up in SoCal and all those places are so much fun.

I think it will be a nice trip next Dec. We are planning on flying my parents out from WV to join us. I can't wait!

I'm excited about seeing DLR with you all. I won't know what to do with myself without the kids and DH. I'm sure you all will show me the ropes. :goodvibes

Oh my goodness, Cristabel! I can't believe you sat in front of your computer reading that book. I remember when I couldn't afford the new copy of Harry Potter, I think it was year 5, so I got the pdf and read it on my computer. My eyesight was shot after that. Of course, I have a higher tolerance for sitting in front of a computer starring at the screen all day. :surfweb: :rotfl:

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I just ate one of those chocolate mint candies we got from Cafe Orleans and it was instant heartburn, curses!

I caved. I bought Eclipse and Breaking Dawn in hardcover from overstock.com and it was way cheaper than buying it from a bookstore.

I guess I should have gotten the first one in hardcover too...and to think I almost did. :headache:

We'll be the same though, I couldn't find book three in paperback at Target so I went with the hardcover. I think I'll have to buy book 4 in hardcover too, just to even it out a little.

Yeah Eclipse doesn't come out in paperbook until next year so I think they stick to hardcovers when the book first releases.

Flashlight? Anyone need a flashlight?? And that wasn't even me, it was my DD! I train them young!! For those who are uninformed, we were in line at IJ and were in the projector room. I know about where the Eeyore sign is but have never actually seen it. We were at the front by the screen and asked the CM if they had a flashlight and no, she didn't. BUT my DD Allyson happened to have one in her bag (she's like me and carries stuff around that you don't think you'll actually ever need) so the CM showed us the sign!! :rotfl2:

You're not going in December now? I'll be out there 12/15-18 (maybe 12/16-18) to bring back DD Christine and all her stuff from school. I was thinking I'd try and meet up with you while I was there.

And you are more than welcome to join my room; right now I have 2 friends in 1 room (I reserved 2) and they want just 2 people, but my other room has no one but me yet.

Yoo-hoo Stacerita, please add Heather to my room. Thanks!

So you aren't going to be there in December either? That would have been a great time to meet!

And no, unfortunately I haven't been off doing something fun :confused3 just boring, normal around-the-house-stuff. I'm usually not on as much on the weekends, more during the week.

If I drive and you rode with me, how would we work that? I did send you a PM as well.

Hi Ladies! I have some good news and some (maybe) bad news to share. As those that I got a chance to talk to a the mini-meet a few weeks ago know, I was tentative on being able to attend the meet in March.

Well, we were unable to resist the temptation of the WDW 7 for 4 offer, and just booked AKL for the first week of February, which is also DH's birthday week!! :yay:

We are using the $200 gift card (and DH's birthday gift card if we can) we are going to upgrade our park hoppers to Annual Passes, and at least go back at Christmas!!! :santa:

But the (maybe) bad news is that I am REALLY tentative for the girl's trip now. I'm not going to completely rule it out, cause there's a chance I'll have a business trip to LA come up in that time frame, it happens a lot. But I won't be able to sign up for any of the group activities, cause it's just too iffy that I will go. I'll just play it by ear and see if it happens.

So our trip next month might be our last trip to DL for a while, although I kinda doubt it! :rolleyes1 As often as I get to the west coast, I'm sure I can fit in a trip somewhere! And who knows, you might see me in March after all!

Can I ask some of you WDW veterans a question about the current WDW promotion they are running (7 days for price of 4)?

What do you do if you are a family of 5? How does that work with the promotion? Also, why does WDW believe that all families consist of 2 adults and 2 children?

Heather, see how fast that worked out! You've got a room and a potential ride! :thumbsup2 I told you this is a wonderful, friendly group of ladies. And we will all be happy to show you the ropes around DL. :wizard:

Cristabel, lol, I'm glad you were able to get both books for such a great deal!!

Vicki, well shucks, I'm sorry to hear you might not make it in March, but that's great you'll get to go to WDW. :)

I hope everyone is having a great Sunday so far! Anyone else's kids have days off this week? Mine are all off on Mon and Tues.

Ummm yeah, good luck with that. I'm not a WDW vet by any means, but I have been there four times, and that ALWAYS makes me mad. If we stay on property we have to either rent an expensive suite (not!) or two rooms to accomodate us all.

Before we had the twins, we stayed at one of the All Star resorts. The last time since there was six of us, I just got a condo off site. It was only $375 for the whole week for a nice two bedroom with a full kitchen.

I think WDW is horribly biased against large families. Just my opinion. All those resorts they have and yet only a few large enough to hold that many people :confused3 , and then those rooms are more expensive to boot.

Sorry, I realize that doesn't answer your question, but it's just my little rant. LOL

Did you ask on the WDW board?

Thanks for the rant, Beth. :cheer2: It is a major reason I have not yet made a trip to WDW, that and the fact that it seems to be all about the food. . . :rolleyes1

I've just been playing around with the booking site today, and I swear the only resort it will let me book is Port Orleans Riverside which is just UGLY to me and the idea of two doubles and a pullout bed in a room with no fridge or micro makes me sick . . . Yeah, just confirming that even with a good deal like they are offering, I just DO NOT really want to go there.

Did you ask on the WDW board?

Um, no, I don't go there either. . . :scared: :rolleyes1

This will only be our second trip to WDW, so I'm not even close to a veteran, but we did the numbers, and we are saving about $800 with this promotion!!:thumbsup2 We got the pool view room at AKL, plus park admission, for about $250 a day. That's the rate I'm paying for room alone at GC for our trip next month, and that's the AP7 rate!

We don't have kids, so I don't know much about that. Maybe they use an average of what they see in bookings?:confused3

I have heard a lot of lukewarm responses on the resort boards regarding the promotion, particulary if you don't go before March, when you get the $200 gift card. That gift card alone nearly pays for an entire day.

Personally, I not big on the package deals, but this one happened to work out for us. Also, if only DL had AK and AKL, I'd never feel feel the need to go to WDW. But I love love love AKL!

We've agreed to skip DL next year and go to WDW in February and December, but let's see if I can manage to do without my SoCal Mickey fix!!

Have you ever been to WDW Callie? I remember we talked about it but can't recall if you'd ever been.

I think you should go at least once, but don't make the entire trip about WDW. Get a place off site, there are so many to choose from. Centrally located, two bedrooms, full kitchen, etc.
I could even help you out with one of my aunt's timeshares if you wanted. No reason to stay onsite especially if you aren't doing the dining plan. There are many places that sell WDW tickets at a discount.

Rent a car, good deals seem easy to find and getting around really isn't that hard. We did it with no problems.

Then spend some time at WDW, tour the parks. AK really is awesome. Maybe spend a day or two at Universal and Islands of Adventure. And then see what else FL has to offer.
We went to Gatorland and the kids loved that almost as much as anything we did at WDW!! I have the coolest pics of them sitting on a live gator's back holding it's mouth. (it was taped shut of course, lol, but it the pic their hands cover the tape so you don't notice it)

I'd wanted to take one of those airboat rides at this place http://www.bcairboats.com/but we never got around to it.

It can be a nice vacation, but I found total immersion in the "mouse" was a bit much for me over there for some reason. :confused3
But yes, their packages are ALWAYS geared for a family of four which annoys me to no end.
