It's just for HoJo? Get whatever area, state even, that you want. You do NOT need to get the expensive OC Entertainment book for that. I use my south Puget Sound book's card, no problems!

Ok being Canadian what would you suggest what is a south Puget book card?

I'm now reading this thread backwards, just like Beth's trip report, and I kept thinking "what is WCT?" Now I see that it's the Trattoria. Good place! Good food, lots of it.

Hi everyone--today has not been the best of days. I am quickly running out of time and have SO much work to do. (Clients--don't they know I'm going on vacation!)

Then to top it off my older cat was limping this morning--out of an abundance of caution I dropped him at the vets--and found out later today that he has heart problems (and is limping because he probably threw a clot and it settled in that area). So, three days before I leave for 8 days he is now on two medicines. I just picked him up--boy, was he hungry! (I had noticed the last couple of days he wasn't eating like normal--usually he's a hog--poor little guy! He was HUNGRY when I brought him home!) We don't know what the long-term prognosis is; so keep your fingers crossed. I guess when he's as old as he is (12) we should expect some problems--just wish they hadn't cropped up right before I go on vacation! (Is that selfish?)

Oh, and not to discount it--but now my Mom has developed lymphodema which is something to do with the lymph nodes that were removed in her surgery this past summer. If it's not one thing it's another. But I think she's good to go on Friday. Sigh--back to work--but wanted to let you all know why I've been absent all day (haven't even mentioned the 4-hour business meeting today!)

Oh Cheryl, I am so sorry to hear that about your kitty. And your mom too, I posted on your PTR thread about her. It does seem like things always crop up right before a trip. I hope you are able to have a nice time while you are there. You deserve it!!

They probably won't in June if that is the time frame we are looking at. Unfortunately, June, especially the end of June is prime tourist season. The Strip was always so busy this summer!

But if we are sharing rooms, then it might not be so bad. No $59 HoJo rates though!

Cheryl sorry to hear about your kitty and your mom. I feel your pain. I don't know if you saw my thread but both of my little ones have pink eye! My middle one got it at our soccer tournament and we spent the day at the urgent care and she missed school yesterday and then my little one woke up this morning with it. So I took HER to the doc this a.m. and he was REALLY worried about Katy (my middle one) because she had it SO bad and so he added oral antibiotics to the eye drops she is already taking and he added a few days to the days off school she already had. He told me that they both could go back on Friday but then when I asked the school if they could administer the meds on Friday they said NO that I would have to come and do it. YEAH RIGHT! Not only does Katy need drops every three hours but now she needs these pills AND I have to work on Friday. So I am just going to keep her out on Friday as well and I will just have to go over once at noon to give Shelby HER drops. SHEESH!

Plus I stopped at Walmart to pick up some plain old sudafed for my sinus headache and you would think I was a friggin axe muderer. Jeez. The crap they make you go through to get some dang meds. Man!

Plus I had to pay 2 flippin copays when all he did was look at Katy for 2 seconds and then he gave me the meds there in his office THINKING he would save me some money but it cost MORE than if I would have just gone to the pharmacy. So that little trip to the doc cost me 70 flippin bucks and I already had the ER copay I had to pay to the urgent care on Sunday night. AHAHAHAHAHA.

But as I said before AT least it isn't my trip yet!!!!! THANK GOD!!!!

I just hope we can get all this crap out of the way NOW! We all have to go BACK to the doc on Monday afternoon for rechecks so MORE copays and ironically my teen has to go in for a booster shot so you would think they could just take 1 copay for the three of them but that would be too easy eh? But ANYWAY it has been one heck of week that's for sure.

I am SO ready for my trip I can't tell you!

The Puget Sound is a body of water in Western WA. I'm in Tacoma, on the southern end of the area, as opposed to Seattle where they would want the northern Puget Sound Entertainment Book. If they were ONLY using it for HoJo though, it wouldn't matter which one they bought. I only buy my local area b/c there are coupons in it for my area that I use!

So you can just order the cheapest Entertainment Book, which could be the Vegas one ($25 for 2009) like Beth mentioned. I've always noticed that the cheapest is Arkansas (but I see that it's the same as Vegas now)...the cards are all good at HoJo's, you don't have to buy the area you are traveling to.

Someone would have to confirm that the Canadian Entertainment Book cards are just as good at HoJos, but if so, I notice they even have:

Ontario
Hamilton (2009) $40.00
Ottawa/Outaouais (2009) $40.00
Toronto Area (2009) $30.00

If they had coupons that you could use near your home, it makes the book an even better bargain.

I already started looking at hotel prices for that time of year.....yeah I don't sleep much. It looks like mid week rates for the mid-end of June are between $120-170. Those are for decents places on the strip. Just need to share rooms and costs, and the trip can be pretty budget. I'm not a gambler so Vegas can be cheap for me.

I remember for one trip up there is was a girls weekend and we rented a cabana. It was really cheap. Only was like $20 per person. Tv/Radio, misters, chairs and lounges, fridge and a cabana host. It made us feel all VIP, but didn't cost that. Might be a thought.

And true, vegas wont give us the HoJo rates, but thats when you start sleeping people in the tub and under the sink.

Honestly, it doesnt matter where I stay. I'm hardly ever in the room. Plus I have stayed at some really nice places in Veags, and I have stayed down downtown. So whatevers is cool with me.

Just need to make a trip to OG and its all good.

In particular, I am looking at sharing from Long Beach Airport. Anyone??

I've had a bad day today. I couldn't stop coughing for the life of me. I felt so embarrassed during my classes. I actually got up three different times from math so I could go outside and cough my lungs out! I bought mucinex by advice of my friend. I REALLY hope it works. I hate this cough and I have to work tomorrow! My back and stomach hurt so much from all the coughing.


Too bad I'm not 21 yet or I'd try to do that Vegas trip. Oh well, I'd probably go bankrupt anyways hahaha

Normally, I would love to share a ride from LGB, but if I'm going at all, I'll be driving this time around. Depending on when your flight gets in, perhaps someone would be willing to come pick you up?

Mucinex does work. DBF was the one who suggested I get that when I was really sick and kept coughing. It worked great. Did you get the one that's behind the counter? That one works best. But makes me feel like a criminal to get it.

I got the one that is an expectorant and a cough suppressant. I used the self check out at Wal-mart and I was flagged when I scanned it. I had to show my I.D. to prove I'm an adult They did the same thing for the pressurized air to clean the computer keyboard. I'm NOT going to get high off it!!
