Girls Only Trip (old planning thread, see link to new one in 1st post)

There's that area over by GRR with the water wheel running that would make a nice background for a photo......also if there's water back in the lagoon, that would be pretty as well.

It would be cool if they'd let us get up on the Golden Horseshoe stage for a group pic! How bout in front of IASW (as we're coming from all over......)??

Ok, that's all I got right now...... :rotfl:

Vicki, I'm glad you'll be able to meet some of the ladies at DL! Watch out for Cheryl........she's a sneaky one. :rolleyes1

Yeah, well you know how lawyers can be . . . .

Good afternoon ladies! :goodvibes
Good afternoon Mel! We miss you.

There were a few reasons. One was the risk of infection and fungus. Even the cleanest salons can pass something unknowingly.
:scared: So glad I'm too broke to get a pedicure now. :rotfl2:

So, just getting this thread back on track........

Group pic at DCA near the Hyperion Theater
:lmao:
Sure. Is there any area large enough for us all in either the Redwood forest area or by Grizzly rapids? Those would also make nice backgrounds. Maybe as a back up plan?

::yes::

Did Sunday morning work well for the Segway tour? It seemed like it did. Well, aside from the time change but that won't be an issue this time around.

And for the character meal, we've narrowed it down to these poll options right?

Lilo and Stitch breakfast
Goofy's Kitchen breakfast
Goofy's Kitchen dinner
Minnie's breakfast

What am I forgetting? I know we talked about doing two character meals, but they are so time consuming and doing two might be cost prohibitive for some. Maybe we can plan more counter service meets. :confused3 Rancho del Zocalo and French Market are both nice options for that. Food is good, setting is nice and yet it's not as expensive. kwim?

OOOOOOH I know this is completely random, but I saw the photos of the candy buffet and I remembered that I have this amazing basket in the shape of a mickey head that I got from the Disney florist last year (BIGGEST waste of $$$ IMO) and I would love to put it to good use. Should I bring it filled with goodies to our 2010 meet?! :earsboy:

Hopefully there's no ugly construction going on.

I haven't heard of anything yet.

I will be there in the next week or so, I will try to scout out some areas and take pics. Then we can see what works best, and have a back up plan as well.

I thought the Segway tour worked well for Sunday. The time change was the only downer about it.

As far as Character meals, I think those are the ones we narrowed it down to. I would say we choose only one. Two would take up lots of time. And I really can only handle one per trip.

I do like more counter service meals as a group. Rancho and French Market I think would work really well. It also gives enough room for others to grab something from carts or elsewhere and join us.

As much as I would like to do more counter service this time, I would also like to see a table service in DTD.

Well... even if anyone opposes.... I'm bringing it anyway! I WILL use that basket! I got it on my trip with my exBF and he was a grump for pretty much our entire trip, but I refused to let him spoil the magic. He didn't even want to drink the champagne from the basket! I'm so glad I dumped him :cloud9:

Yes, that's how I feel. One character meal is enough. A DTD meal would be nice. I did House of Blues the first trip with about 12 others and it was yummy and fun. Rainforest Cafe is a favorite of mine, although I know not everyone likes it for some reason.

So there would be two character meals - Ariel's and whichever breakfast the group chooses. I love the idea of a meal in DTD (I've never been to any of the restaurants there ) I think Cafe Orleans is also great or Plaza Inn for dinner. I love French Market and Rancho as well :thumbsup2

And we need to leave lots of room for CORN DOGS!!!!! (maybe no chimichangas for January though???)

I like the Rainforest too. I would rather not do ESPN though. Too loud for me.

Yes, room for corn dogs and other junk. On the last trip I didn't really have any snacks.

And no chimmis for January. Don't want her to do the butt clench shuffle. That's what its called right?

The House of Blues gospel brunch on Sunday would be really fun!

Ive always wanted to do that.

I loved the Rainforest Cafe at DTD in WDW! I think that would be fun, but I'm going to go there regardless with my mom when we do the Diva's trip so it doesn't really matter to me. I'm down for whatever :thumbsup2

The post where she talked about the almost too long walk back to the hotel and not going #2 in public? I almost fell on the ground crying when I read that for the first time. I rarely ever snort when I laugh and I think I managed one of those :rotfl2: That hit so close to home you just don't even understand. :lmao: I knew I had found a second family with the Divas when I read that post!

On topic, I like those character meal options. Let's poll away!

Off topic, Bridgette, I don't know if you know since you do live in CA, but there is a huge fire in Santa Barbara right now. Houses are burning down and everything. :sad2: I can see the smoke right now from my house. So sad, I hope everyone over there is okay.

CORN DOGS??? Yes, yes, yes!!!! Haven't had a corn dog in years!

Can you believe I've never been to DCA? My last visit to DL was 1996..so sad...

Eating - well, I want to eat everywhere in the Magic Kingdom...okay, not possible, but LOVE The Plaza, is Cafe Orleans the place with the great Monte Cristo's? Or wait, maybe that was lunch at the Blue Bayou.

Of course, I'll go along with what everyone wants, but Rainforest Cafe would be hard for me due to the limited options with my allergies. I must eat very plain food - WDW Chef's are wonderfully accommodating, so it is easy to eat just about anywhere there.

The places we've eaten in the MK at DL were never a problem, hoping things have not changed too much.

Character Meal sounds like great fun. ::yes::

The Walk in Walt's Steps - is that a tour? I think it is something I heard about that I hoped to be able to do next time I went to DL.

So, are all of the following still in the MK:

Fantasyland's Alice in Wonderland, Casey Jr, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Pinocchio's Daring Journey?

Oh, and I just love DL's Peter Pan, Pirates and Haunted Mansion......it's all so much better than WDW.

Guess I'd better calm down..still 9 mos away. :dance3:

We'd better have moved by then so I can buy my airline tkt in the Fall!:thumbsup2

p.s Where can I find the Tink shirt, please?

Oh no! How awful..do you know if it is anywhere near the Mission? In another lifetime I was a Poor Clare and know the nuns in the monastery near the Mission. The Poor Clares are on 215 E Los Olivos St.

Keeping everyone who is in harm's way, very near in heart and prayer.

OMG no not yet! WHERE WHAT PART?! I'm moving to the northern part off the 101 at Hope Ranch. I want to say exit 112? Does that sound right? That is so sad I hope no people or animals are hurt!
