I'm curious, what made you move to AZ in the first place knowing how much you hate heat? Was it the house prices?

I moved to AZ in 1991 from Colorado because I fell in love with a guy from AZ, and wanted to be near him. Of course, he ended up being the wrong guy, but then I met Dan, and I was stuck.

Dan was born and raised in Scottsdale. His family is still here, and it has been good that we've been close, but even they want us to move now so they can follow us to the cooler weather.

We are staying at the Grand, so don't have to drive. DH usually goes to bed at 9, but I will try to talk him into a nightcap. Brianne & I will for sure be there. I hope more Divas can come. See you Sat night.

We are going to DL this weekend! We made reservations at DLH for Sat. night and as of right now it will only be DBF and myself, no kids. I told DBF he could join us but if he is the only guy then he'll probably change his mind. I cannot wait to meet you all! Please let me know if the time and place changes. I'll PM a few of you my cell phone just in case you need it or plans change.

My podiatrist said that getting a pedicure was one of the worst things you can do for your feet. Ever since he told me that, I stopped getting them.

Did he say why? I haven't had one in years but loved them when I did get them. I was going to treat myself with all of this running with a pedicure but if it's bad for my feet then I'll change my mind!

I love Durango! We used to go there often and especially for Halloween. They had the best street Halloween party but you probably already knew that! I grew up just across the mountain...well sort of just on the other side of the San Juans...in the San Luis Valley. I'm a farm girl...my dad and husband grew potatoes and barley for Coors. I moved to Denver about 10 years ago.

Good luck on the house sale! I sold my patio home in Denver about 3 years ago just as the market was about to change and it was the most frustrating experience. Realtor after realtor tramping through my house and then I had to leave for every showing. I was working from home by then so I spent a lot of time at the local coffee shop working during the showings. Although it was only myself and my DD at the time, my DD is a slob and I had to run around picking up her bedroom and bathroom on a moments notice sometimes and leave our poor dog in her kennel for hours until I could go home. It was a pain keeping it in showing mode all of the time! I hope yours sells quickly and you have a better experience.

Afternoon all! Oh Callie I don't envy you on the house sale. Being in real estate myself I know what pain in the butt that is. Good luck! I hope the tour went well today!

And thanks to all who wished me good luck at my apt. It was a little weird to say the least.

As I said this OB was new to me and when I drove up the office was kind of a hole in the wall so I was NOT impressed. Then I went in and the lady is Russian. Now don't get me wrong I have nothing against Russian people but most of the people in there barely spoke English and I DO have a pet peeve about my doctors being able to communicate with me. I had a doc at Kaiser years ago and I could NOT for the life of me understand what that man was saying. I mean you NEED to know what your doctor is telling you for heaven's sake! Then they told me when I registered that she was off delivering a baby. Strike 2. I specifically made the apt for THIS day so I could see HER and not her PA which is what they wanted me to do when I called to make the apt orig.

Now I realize I can't control when people go into labor but I was bummed cuz I wanted to see the DOC. But I didn't want to have to resched AGAIN so I said what the heck and just stayed. I went in and they told me to get undressed and I was like WHAT I am just here to TALK not for an exam but they said it was procedure for new patients. UGH! So I did grudgingly and then she FINALLY came in after making me wait forever. So I started to tell her what was going on and then she interrupts me. GRRRR. So she basically tells me that I CAN stay on the pills but that I should take these breaks every so often. Well I told her that I get these terrible headaches but she offered NO adivce for that. She said if I didn't take the breaks I would get "bloated" and some other stupid thing that was so stupid I forgot what she said. I basically said if THAT was the only side effects I would take the bloating and the other over the headaches and I was NOT going to "take a break" again cuz this sucks! So I am kind of back to square one. Plus what is worse is I was told by the neurolgist AND I read online that when I hit menopause that the headaches should stop but SHE basically said they would get worse because what is causing them is the drop in estrogen and that at menopause I will no longer have ANY estrogen and then I will no estrogen replacement or the headaches will be ALL the time. UGH! So that just made my flippin day!

Here I was thinking I was only going to have to deal with this another 10 or so years now I find out it is going to go on forever unless I take meds. GREAT! Just one more stupid thing. I should have known too cuz my grandma used to get really bad headaches and we didn't know what they were but now we think they were migraines and they are hereditary.

So that didn't go that great but I am hoping when I go back for my annual in Oct that I can talk to the real doc and see what HER take is on the whole thing but it wasn't too encouraging. But at least I feel like it is "ok" to keep taking the pills and at least for now I have NO intention of going off them again any time soon! I know as long as I take them I don't get the headaches. Sure I still get the occasional one but not the BAD migraines that last for over a week like this!

Anyway so that's my lovely update. Didn't mean to depress you LOL.

Tonight I am off to take the girls to swim and church so hopefully I can deal since Shane won't be around to help out. Then it is Idol baby. I honestly hope Kris goes even though I like him he would be the next to go in my opinion.

I like them all but my fav is Danny.

Well gotta run get the girls here soon. Have a good rest of the day all!

Kelly, sounds like the visit was quite a challenge. Don't know if I could bring myself to go back - any idea if the Doc speaks English well enough? Seems you did get some answers that clarify a bit for you. Here's wishing no more headaches!

There were a few reasons. One was the risk of infection and fungus. Even the cleanest salons can pass something unknowingly. Also, they are not trained to do some of the things that they do. And the way they cut the nails can cause problems with ingrowns, and such.

He did say if I felt like I needed to get them done, don't let them cut the nails, thats where most of the issues come from. Have them file them, its a bit safer.
