Girls Only Trip (old planning thread, see link to new one in 1st post)

OT - Anyone know of a good website that has gypsy type clothing and wear? Not a costume really, more like clothes to mix and match? James and I decided the next time we go to the RenFaire we plan to dress up.

Anyone give anymore thought to rides they would like to do as a group? Or any suggestions for the group tshirt or picture location?

Kelly.....thank you!!!!

Well I'm back at work today and EVERYONE around me is hacking up a lung again. I have my fan going at my desk to hopefully BLOW anything away from me. Why oh why can't people stay home when they are like this? It's not just flu I"m worried about......I CAN'T GET SICK!!!!!!!!!!! No more for me. I barely have a paycheck coming as it is. :(

I think I'm going to get M&M and white chocolate macadamia... Mmmm.. :goodvibes

Oooh, those sound good. I want a cookie now :rolleyes1

I still vote for the group picture in DCA beside the Hyperion Theater :thumbsup2 Group pics would be good on It's a Small World and Tower of Terror (). It would be fun to ride POTC, Big Thunder, Space Mountain, the Teacups (my personal fave :thumbsup2) together.

Hi everyone,

They had lots, at least 9 bottles of it on the shelf. So I grabbed one just to have. It was $21! Is that right?? Are there different years? It had a date on it. :confused3
!

That's it! :thumbsup2 And the price is right. It varies from $18-22.

It's fun to dress up for the faires. It would be nice if more people did, makes for a great atmosphere.

I'd go to a site that makes clothing for the ren faires. If you google renaissance clothing you should find them. There are several of them and you can get a nice simple outfit that's historically accurate for the same price as some gypsy clothing.

I have a Planning request from the Mixer Night Committee.:worship:

Please may we have something like the candy buffet.. if not the candy buffet..then perhaps a individually wrapped snack buffet.

Meaning like the packs of cheese and crackers, the individual packs of oreos or any cookie packs.. mini chip packs..packs of nuts.. something like that could go in backpacks for little snacks while in the park.
!!

I love that idea because we can have a mix of sweet but also non-sweet items. I also think we should have individually wrapped - nothing loose. Great suggestion!

Didja happen to notice the new ad at the bottom for "Tudor Wear"? Boy do they know how to pick key words or what? :rotfl2:

Hello ladies!!

Stacie ~ I plan to save the Rosa for June. I am tempted to open it and try some, but I know I probably wouldn't like it and then I wouldn't know what to do with the rest.
That was a neat story about your parents "adopting" your brother's friend.
As for group pic, I'm really liking going with someplace in DCA to switch things up a bit.

Kelly ~ Sorry about the rain. Hang in there!

Steph ~ Have a safe trip.

Melody ~ We miss you around here. I hope Dave's birthday tomorrow is wonderful.

Courtney ~ Sucks getting back to reality after a vacation doesn't it??

Dawn ~ Good luck on your quest for a yummy oatmeal raisin cookie. I don't like raisins so I can't help you there.

Sarah ~ I saw your sig! I hope things work out for your cruise. Catalina's nice, but I know that's not what you signed up for.

Vicki ~ Enjoy your new patio set and fire pit. We had a fire pit back in MI and I miss it.

Janelle ~ Ugh, I totally agree with you. If people are sick, they should stay home! Stay healthy.

Everyone else I hope you are having a good Monday so far! :)

What about white chocolate macadamia nut? Those don't contain any of the above... do you care for those? I think they are fantastic!

I have to be in the right mood for these. But an Oatmeal Raisin I cannot ever refuse!:lovestruc

Hi everyone--well, it's my first day in the office with Bella--and she's actually doing pretty good. After the first hour or so--when she was running around checking everything out--she's settled down and goes between sleeping and playing with her toys. We've "only" had two accidents--every time I take her outside she gets so distracted that she won't go, and then when we come back in she goes!

So, I'm actually getting work done, she's not barking/whining and everyone in the office loves her (especially Francine, my assistant, who now has "dog sitter" added to her job description!)

You are just as strong and independent too Linda. Yeah, you may be married and all. But you have no problems being your own woman and taking trips solo to meet all of us. There are so many out there that wouldn't do something like that.

We always have them bring their own drinks. If not, they would drink me out of my entire stash.

Thank you for the kind words, Stacie.:flower3: I'm opinionated, that's for sure! Thinking back, I was really nervous the first time I met the group. It was outside DCA, I saw a group of women wearing the turquoise martini shirts and I approached all nervous - my tummy full of butterflies. I was afraid people would ignore me and I would be thinking "what the heck am I doing here?", but it wasn't like that at all. Everyone was very welcoming.:lovestruc.

I think we should group ride Pirates, IASW, Thunder Mountain, Soarin', and the Teacups, yes the Teacups! I found another Teacup lover! Theresa, it may just be you and I, but let's go on them together.:goodvibes

That's wonderful news, Cheryl. So glad Bella is fitting right into the family.:lovestruc And I hope Chase adapts ok, he's such a sweetheart. I forgot to reply to Bridgette's story about Chase, my DD the college senior has a cat and a beau both named Chase, too!:rotfl:

Boo Hoo, my lunch is over.:sad1:
I won't be back until this evening. Talk to you ladies later.
Have a good rest of the day everyone.:cutie:

Awww.
I can't imagine you ever being nervous.

Cheryl, I just knew you would be taking Bella to work with you. :goodvibes How fun! Are you using a word for potty? Once she does it outside make sure you give her treats galore and tell her "good potty!". Here I go telling you how to raise your dog! ;)

No no--I WANT tips--it's been a LONG time since I've had a puppy.

I've been giving her lots of positive feedback when she does "do her thing" outside. Right now she's in her crate (went in there on her own) on her back with her feet in the air fast asleep . . . . .

You should contact fairycat--she does all that RenFaire stuff

I'm sitting in my LAST class for the regular semester of my undergrad and you know what.... this is the WORST prof I've EVER had! He's NOT kind at all. He's pompous and arrogant and... I'm sorry if you have a family member with this name or are a die hard fan of the Little Mermaid... but his name is Flounder to boot! It just makes it worse for me... :snooty: I know I know... I'm complaining again! :rolleyes1

Ok, so I emailed some of you, but for those I didn't here is Bella

Afternoon all! Thanks Bridgette and Michelle for the hugs about my ailments. And if I forgot anyone I'm sorry. This new meds I am taking make for my mood is REALLY bad on my memory so bear with me LOL.

But anyway yeah this really sucks. I manged to get through work and my headache is gone but I have a TERRIBLE low back ache. Usually when I was on the pill in the past that was one of the GOOD things of being on the pill vs regular AF's was not getting the side affects of regular AF's ie the cramps back aches etc but I have been getting that more and more it seems. I am broken out and have had some stomach cramps and my lower back feels like someone hit me with a baseball bat. Like I said I can't WAIT till Wed and I just hope THIS doc knows more and is more understanding than my other two were cuz I am getting REALLY frustrated. The other two were completely opposite of all the research I have done on the net and surprise surprise but when I took the pills non-stop NO headaches so obviously it works but I am just worried about long term use. Side affects and such like blood clots, strokes etc. As it is I take a baby aspirin every day and being that I am in my 40's I do worry.

Unlike most people I would welcome a hysterectomy if I thought it would solve the problem. Then I would NOT have to worry about the headaches OR the side effects from the hormones but none of the other docs would even discuss it. So I will see what this OB says. I just want answers. I mean it is not like I am going to have any more kids and I certainly don't want to have to suffer for possibly 10 more years with this. So we shall see.

Anyway I am home now and going to pick up the girls soon but I am sure not looking forwad to having to go BACK out to swim practice for an hour. Shane may take them. As soon as I get back from picking them up I am going to take a bath. I think that will feel good on my back!

Mom and I are still contemplating our trip to D.C. and we have been looking into all these different air options and it seems they change daily. We are now looking into flying into Baltimore and the fares literally changed since Friday but I think they do that. So we are going to wait and see if they go back down tomorrow since they did that once before with Southwest and if so we will probably buy our tix tomorrow but if not then we will buy them anyway. They only went up 20 bucks so it wasn't too bad but they might go down.

They did that once before. They went up over the weekend and then back down again during the week.

We WERE going to fly in to Dulles but they have more options at Baltimore.

I can tell you though not having ever been there it is so hard not knowing what is a good area to stay and then how far everything is and how long it is going to take to see and do everything. It is so overwhelming. I wish they had a sight for there like they do for Disney. :) I am excited though and think it will be fun. I will just be glad when it starts coming together!

Anyway that's bout it for me. Hope everyone has a good rest of the day! Talk later. :)
