Girls Only Trip (old planning thread, see link to new one in 1st post)

Hey everyone! I am back from MA. I had a great time, but I am exhausted. I hope to get caught up.

Anyone want to fill me in on highlights?

Hi Stacie. It's been kind of quiet this weekend. Everyone was talking about how busy their weekends were going to be, had been. We all were wishing we could be at DL and wondering how your MA teams were doing.

So how'd it go?

Welcome back Stacie! You didn't miss too much, it was pretty quiet. Busy weekend for lots of us. Can't wait to hear how it went. :goodvibes

Welcome back!!! All quiet on the homefront here....we all are anxiously awaiting to hear about MA.

A quick check in. MA kicked our butts, but we had a great time. I was so wiped out that I'm spending another night at Cheryl's and heading home tomorrow.
Good news is that Little Churro got second place in the mascot contest. The winner gets retired, so I KNOW we'll win next year!!!
Have had a chance to visit with lots of Divas...MaryJo and Katie (with her adorable DD) came by to visit. Linda, Dawn, Wendy and I stayed Friday night, while Stacerita, Amy, Dawn, Wendy and I stayed last night. Cheryl made her (in)famous jello shots and we ate tons of food.
I'm sure you'll get more later, including pic's!

Its been pretty quiet around here. I hope Sarah stayed awake at work.
It has been a super duper busy wknd around here. I am so ready for bed.
I hope everyone has a great evening.

That is so cool about Lil Churro! He is so darn cute!

I am also home from a long weekend at DL, and I'm exhausted too. We got to see the Robert Irvine demo on Saturday where he made filet mignon and lobster mashed potatoes, and it was divine! Dave also attended one of the beer and spirits seminars and of course I had a glass of Magicale. I could have seriously gone for 2-3 more glasses of it, but at $16 a glass that adds up way too quickly for my wallet.

This morning we got to see everyone at Lilo & Stitch before they headed off on the MA and we spent a couple hours at DL before the Angels game. As I expected Ty was NOT into the baseball game at all. He was bored by the end of the 1st inning. At the end of the 3rd inning we went to the kids area and spent another 2 innings at a picnic table before heading out for home. Luckily we had gotten cheap tickets, so it wasn't a great financial loss. But, I think Dave was a little sad to leave.

Anyhow, Sarah I am SOOOO excited to hear that you are going to be able to make it after all. One of my best memories of the trip is that same night that you were talking about when we went totally ride commando and you and I ended up going to the midnight showing of the 50th anniversary movie. I had really wanted to see it, and I am so glad that you and I got to share that experience!

Hi guys! Happy to hear from Stacie, Michelle, and Jane!

I am excited to hear all about MA.!:cool1:

 (has anyone else noticed sometimes the banana doesn't dance?)

Glad you ladies had a great time at DL! I hope we get to see some pictures soon!

Holy cow, it's already 9 here? Geesh.

I went through each page that I missed but it was all a blur.

How did MA go?
I'm so tired and I'm SO glad I don't have work or school tomorrow.

Yesterday I did a 10.5 hour shift and today a 11.5 hour shift.

GOOD NIGHT!

I just got back from MA about an hour ago. I left DL around 7:30. My drive down to San DIego was a bit bleary.

We all had fun, fun, fun, fun!! I think we pretty much stunk, but it didn't matter, because we were having so much fun!! We didn't finish, but worked hard!! Thank goodness it wasn't all that hot!!!

My team was Linda, Brianne and Stacie. We were really well suited and matched, very harmonious. I spoke to a veteran who told me that you need to have a "math whiz, trivia whize, and a puzzle fanatic on your team to be competitive", I asked, what happens if you have NONE of those and he just smiled gently and patted my shoulder. I knew we were sunk.

Everyone I dealt with at all related to the event was pleasant and upbeat. Really the whole thing was all good.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank CHeryl publicly for opening her home to all of us. Food/drink galore. Stacie and I slept on dueling couches in her living room..I am not sure where others were. SO THANK YOU CHERYL!!!

Oh, and sorry we were a bit unfriendly when you ever so cheerily awakened us this AM. We had four more minutes!! (Stacie's phone played the theme from mission impossible as a wake up. What a hoot).

I am sure others will chime in, but the day was really the bomb!!!

When can I do it again?

I am tired though!!!

And I know what you mean about this group. It's great how we have all meshed together. And my other friends don't get it, but they don't get Disneyland either, not the way I do!!

.

Same here.

Afternoon Divas! My my my what a day! Words cannot express how glad I am to be on here right now. I'm struggling to get done with the semester. Art school is rough, especially right when I'm about to graduate. (I'm a photographer for those of you who don't know.) If you've ever had to write a paper and have had writer's block, try photographer's block. That's what I've had today but I think I made something work out for me. My stress level is a little less now so I decided to treat myself with some Diva love for a few precious moments so I can have my heart warmed before I need to go work on my senior thesis paper. :crazy2:

I just wanted to take a moment and voice my appreciation for how much you all make me laugh and smile. I barely know any of you but you've all made me feel so welcome at a time when I truly need girlfriends. I have a major change coming up (moving away from my family, home and friends 2500 miles away to SoCal) and the Divas are just what I need *tear*

Thanks for the support everyone! I have a major night time outdoor shoot tonight so wish me luck! Lots of lights and color filters. I have a friend helping me. I pray I don't blow a circuit breaker! Better yet... I hope I don't have bugs flying up my nose!

It's great. We know the feeling about being made to feel welcome here.

I remember those night shoots. I really hope you don't have bugs up your nose though. :lmao:

I heard that Bea Arthur died. So sad. I really didn't like the Golden Girls, but my DH loves it. She was pretty funny. I liked her sarcasm.

I had no idea she died of cancer. I just saw the headline that showed her year of birth and year of death. That is sad. :sad1:
s

I know... esp to get to that age and then have to hear that...

I've got Celebrity Apprentice on in the background... one of those things I wish I didn't watch...

Oh, oh, oh, I forgot. This AM at breakfast--Stacie got herself some Stitch butt!! I got into the photo with a furtive Sttich butt pat!!

Funny.

Jane~ Glad you made it home ok. Kaeleb is that way & he is 9. He get's mad when I don't take him to a Seahawks game? I take him to just 1 Mariners game a season.

Morning all! Sounds like fun weekends for everyone.

Bridgette LOVE your pics! I love photography and was really into it in high school and college but as usual life stepped in and I wasn't able to pursue it as a career but I have always loved it and wish I was better at it or had better equipment. But you do great work!! Can't wait to meet you in Feb!

Sounds like all the MA's had a blast and congrats to little Churo! I knew Dawn's handy work would not go unrewarded! That is awesome!

I so hope that people want to do it again next year cuz I really want to do it. Is there a possibility of adding any spouses cuz Shane is REALLY good at puzzles if that is a possibility. If not that is cool too I just know that I know some trivia but I can't do math OR puzzles and he can do both LOL!

Anyway today is my youngest baby's birthday. 8 years old. Can't believe it! Man it seems hard to believe. I so don't want them to get any older. Katy is going to be 10 this year too. Double digits already. They grow up SO flippin fast. I know Lynn came to live with us when she was 7 and the last 10 years absolutely FLEW by!!! And now she is all grown up and gone. I mean it seems like just the other day the girls were babies and now THEY are almost 10. I am SO not ready for them to be this old or be teens soon. AHAHHHAHAHAHAH. Makes you wish they would just stay little forever!

Ok enough reminiscing! ;)

Anyway yesterday we just went to church and then to the store and we got the best dinner. We got steaks and mushrooms and I made red potatoes in the oven with the onion soup and olive oil and then I made the broccoli that I make with this marinade that has onions and garlic and olive oil and lemon juice it is REALLY good. You steam the broccoli and you make the marinade and then pour it over the broccoli. It is SO good. Then we made sauteed mushrooms and bbq'd the steaks and put them mushrooms over the top. It was SOOO yummy. Shane went with one of his buddies yesterday so the girls and I watched cocoon 1 and 2 and then Three men and a baby. Oldies but goodies but it was a fun movie day.

Now today I let Shelby get some cookies to take to school. Katy's teacher won't allow it but Shelby's teacher is a bit more flexible. They don't allow ANYTHING homemade but some will allow store bought stuff but like Katy's teacher won't allow ANYTHING. It is just SO dumb but I know I have talked about this before. But they have always begged me to let them bring something on their birthdays and Katy's is always on New Year's eve and she is never at school anyway and so I finally bit the bullet and let Shelby do it.

Anyway hope everyone has a good day and talk to you soon.

Happy Monday morning ladies!!!

Welcome back Michelle, Jane and AmySue. Sounds like y'all had a good time. That's great about Lil Churro.

Jane, sorry about having to leave the baseball game early. It's rough on little ones. Not much action I guess.

Kelly, hope Shelby has a good b-day!

I'm getting the twins ready for school, check back later. :)

Good morning! Wishing everyone a great Monday!

Good Morning Ladies!!!

Sorry I was a bit AWOL yesterday, my 3 yr old decided to feed a bite of eggs to one of my twins........ she's very allergic!!!!!! We spent the day cleaning up puke....poor little thing!

Anyways, welcome back to the gals that were at DL this weekend!!!

Hope everyone has a good Monday!!!! :dance3:

I watch that also. Do you think Joan will come back?

:lmao:

Hey now! I haven't watched it yet! I'll keep it to myself though so the ending won't be revealed for DH.

Good morning everyone! :surfweb:

I'm tired, but hope to wake up soon. Beth, I don't know if I mentioned it before, but I really like the pink tie dye shirt you posted at fashion bug. Would you mind if I got it? (You did have first dibs on it!)

DH got me a new laptop for mother's day! I now wish I had purchased the retro disneyland computer sleeve. Hopefully they will still have it in October. I love all that retro stuff, and thank Beth for getting me started with her tote bag! :yay:

OK, I'll talk with you all later! :wizard:

Heather

Welcome back to the MA gals! Sounds like you had a great time, and I'm glad the weather cooperated! I can't wait to read about some of the questions they had for you.
Congratulations to Dawn & Little Churro. So what mascot won?

Well, I flaked on my exercise this morning and slept in. I'll try to do it later this afternoon. A bit depressed that we didn't have anyone look at our house this weekend, and I had it looking all spiffy. I've gotta get my butt in gear and get these kids busy with some school work.

Hope you all have a great Monday. :)
