Girls Only Trip (old planning thread, see link to new one in 1st post)

Well, we'll have to see of those that will be there on Saturday, who wants to meet up and for what. I want to make sure I see everyone while I am there. :thumbsup2

Mary Jo, sounds like you had a fun time! Thanks for the info on BBB. That would be fun.

I woke up way to early ladies and am falling asleep. I'll chat with ya'll tomorrow. Night!

Add me plus one to the list of wherever we want to go for dinner on Sat night.

Mary Jo, glad you had such a great day. I took Zoe to 17 Again yesterday, too and I loved it. More than Zoe.

I'm sorry it's just a touchy subject for me. I'm trying hard to make a life for my child where he's not perceived as different, and where he is expected to follow the same rules the rest of us do. I do not want to raise him to be self centered and not care how his actions and words effect others. I want him to be proud of his accomplishments, not of his problems.

I'm so with you, Heather. One of my biggest obstacles with Ethan was to get him to understand that his disability explains why he has certain tendencies but does not excuse inappropriate behavior. When he would slide down that hill, I'd be all over him telling him it just meant that he has to work harder.

Hey now, I'm pretty sure OUR team is going to win!!! Hee hee! Maybe we'll tie, huh!:lmao:

we HAVE to win. or at least do well. I just bet drinks with a friend on another team as to which team scores higher. so it's ON.

So, who is planning on staying at the Hojo's in Feb/March?

And who is looking/needing roomies?

I'm staying at HoJo's and would love to be roommates with you again. I'd love to stay on site but that will only happen if I win the lottery. :lmao:

Shall we say margaritas at Tortilla Jo's after we kick some boo-tay. :woohoo:

;)

Heck, I think we should go even if we lose.

I think we're going to try for the Friday party. I can see what you mean by it being difficult to maneuver for the tour. You did it the same day we did (just the later time - someone was late or mixed up your times :confused3) and it was literally shoulder to shoulder through Disneyland! Good thing we had those blinking glow in the dark necklaces, or I would definitely have been lost

Are you going to dress up or just get a funky Halloween t-shirt? We're doing the t-shirts...... I have this great design from the DISign board that has "What happens in Disneyland stays in Disneyland" and has the "see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil" Mickey Mouse heads on it. We're going to put that on the back of a t-shirt and then a pumpkin Mickey or Minnie head on the front. That's about as dressed up as I can get Jesse to commit to

Add Zoe and I to Friday night, too. When do the tickets go on sale?

I've never been to Tortilla Jo's (shocking, but true)

Holy Cow!!!! I just caught up on the thread and all I can say is that I'm exhausted! I'm so glad to see that things have turned around and we are back to the planning mode:cool1:

I think Minnie's would be nice for breakfast. Make it a late sitting so we can do park time first, grab fast passes and such, then eat.
I've never been to Minnie's, and I think this sounds like a great plan!

I think since the Segway went so well for those who did it last time, it will quickly fill up again this time. I won't do it, lol, but I know we'll get lots of takers on that.

Minnie's would be great!

And what about a dinner off site one night? Since we are extending the trip by a day, we previously talked about doing a dinner at the Gardenwalk (Cheesecake Factory prehaps?), maybe doing some bowling there? Anyone think that's a good idea?
I just want to throw it out there that while right now it sounds fun to go off-property for dinner, etc, I doubt you will be able to pull me away from Disney once we're there. I'm just sayin.......

I should be cleaning, I should be cleaning, I should be cleaning....I've heard that if you say something 3 times your wish will come true. After the morning I've had, cleaning the toilet will be a vacation! :rotfl:

My must Dos:

Aladdin (How did I miss this last time?)
Parade
Fantasmic!
Tom Sawyer Island-ooops! I mean Pirates Cove
Walk in Walts Footsteps
Club 33 (again!-who wants to go this time?)
Hello my BFF, Heather! Remember how I introduced you to my boyfriend? That was a very migical moment for you, I'm sure. You're welcome.

Oh I'm not worried at all and it'll take a heck of a lot more than that to scare me off! It takes a lot to even surprise me when it comes to things like that.

ps. I successfully just tried the multi quote function! HOORAY
Yay for the multi-quote! It took me forever to figure it out!

Trip Planning? :confused3
********

Seriously, the trip planning is going to make me so sad, because I know I'm not going. :sad2: And I never did get to the Cove Bar, dang it!
I'll see you in February.

Things are looking up for me Divas!

I have been trying to get Nathan into music therapy for weeks now. They just called and they have an opening on Wednesdays!!! :cool1: :cheer2:

I hope he likes it. She even told me that I can bring Nolan and he can participate. It will be great for her to help teach him sharing, waiting, and all that fun stuff.

I'm almost in tears because it's just wonderful when all of your hard work pays off. Thank you Lord!

Heather
This is great news, Heather! Music can have a huge influence over children. We have had children come to our daycare, not talking at all, and within weeks they were going home singing the songs we taught them. And I'm so glad that they will include Nolan. I think this will be a great thing for your family. Please let us know how it goes.

Man! I just deleted my post about Stacie's hair in my excitement over the music therapy for my son.

I want you all to get a chance to see the proof that Stacie will wear things on her head, so here's the picture again. :rolleyes1

Fantastic shot!

See, I like the middle pieces. We can swap :thumbsup2
I love the center pieces, too!

Ok ladies, it's been fun, but I gotta get ready for work. Yep, you read right, work. I'm working at my law firm tonight from 3:00 - 11:00. Haven't been in the office in about 9 months. Eeek!

Hopefully, I'll have some down time to Dis! ;)
Good luck tonight!

Good afternoon, ladies!

I am about to head home after a STRESSful day. I love my job, but there are days when I wonder what I am doing and if I am even making a difference.

Well, I can see the poor thread did not start off in the most positive atmosphere and hopefully it will just better and awesomer than it already is!

I cannot believe that the trip was barely last month. It feels like eons ago...I miss you all. I also miss the food----well, besides the chimis.:scared:

So...peace out yall. I will definitely be on tonight while I get my ChaCha-on.:surfweb:
Hi January! You are doing great work with those children!!! I'm sorry you had a rough day.

Well, ladies, my kids will all be home soon, and I've got to get dinner and homework started with them, before heading off to a dinner with Amy and Jane.
See y'all later.

I'm so jealous! I wish there were some Divas that lived near me. Have fun tonight!

We're having BBQ burgers and broccoli salad for tonight. I can't wait for dinner. Is that wrong?

Anyone else exhausted? I haven't moved from my desk since 9 a.m. but I feel as though I've run a race. Just drained.
So to take a cue from Capri, I am ready for a Disneyland pick me up! I think we could all use one correct?

:teleport:
This is me wishing I could be teleported to DL for a pick me up.

Sorry for that extremely long post, girls! I was just so excited that I finally got to the end of the thread, and I couldn't stop!

So, who is planning on staying at the Hojo's in Feb/March?

And who is looking/needing roomies?

Well, I'm wanting roomies, but was planning on going with the same group as this year and last year, unless you're thinking to mix it up.

I am going to be there on 5/26 for my Birthday!!!

I could most likely join you. I could bring Zoe, if kids are welcome, or skip it if not. She LOVES Splash. I won't do Grizzley, though. I don't welcome getting THAT wet with water that COLD!

Of course, if it's 101 like today you might change your mind!

Bumber will have Eamon . . . . so Zoe is fine with me!

Tina, yum, broccoli salad is yummy!!

We finally have a night of no sports, so I am studying, making dinner (its from Paula Deen, Mexican chicken, it smells very yummy!!)

I am waiting for Jordan to get home so he can mow the lawn. I love slave labor...ooops I mean child labor. After all he wants to go to the movies this wknd, so I guess he better be earning some money!

Tina! You are so funny. Meeting your boyfriend was very special to me. :lovestruc In fact, I think I have a crush on him. You don't mind do you?

I have made note of everyone who states they want to eat at the club with me. I just hope they have a better shopping selection this time around. I really want a pin.

I've thought about taking the family in October, but really don't want to deal with the kids there. I don't want to ruin the experience for others in the room. Plus, DH won't 'get' the specialness of it.

Cheryl, you asked about music therapy and what they do. Essentially, they try to get Nathan to relax and learn and cooperate by using music to connect with him. I'm a huge believer in Dr. Greenspan's theory on how relationships and affect mold and shape our entire world. A person has to have the desire to connect to another in order to learn. Nathan likes to go off into his own world, and ignore us. Because of this, he has not learned many things that kids pick up by observation....finger pointing, biting food, tipping a glass to drink, taking turns, sharing emotions, etc. The theory goes that if you can get the child to connect with you, and get them to seek out your connections, they will start learning. I'm halfway through a 25 hour online conference learning how to do this therapy myself since there is no help available right now from outside sources. Services are stretched so thin.

Sorry for the novel, it's just my life right now. It's amazing to see your hard work pay off though, and love will see us through.

Heather
