Capri, that stinks! Sometimes real life gets in the way of our fun, huh?? Hopefully things will work out and you can come still though - I'll keep my fingers crossed for a little pixie dust pixiedust:

Thanks to everyone for the cake compliments. I used Duncan Hienz (spelling?)
Halloween mix. It was really a marble cake but the white part was bright orange. I changed it up a bit by adding a sm. box of instant vanilla pudding and about 1/2 cup of peanut butter. It was very tasty.

Oooh, that sounds yummy :thumbsup2

Not yet, since it's just me going I'm not overly worried about finding it super cheap. But let me know what you find. Keira tells everyone about Jesse with the helium, she even mimics his high voice:)

That is too cute! That was one of Jesse's favorite things, making Keira laugh at Storyteller's :rotfl: He said he wondered what she would sound like with helium, since she already has such a cute high voice :rotfl2:

My DH GOT A JOB!!!!!!!!!!!! He has been out of work for 4 months and had an interview today! He got hired and starts monday!!!! I am so excited! Hope the good continues to spread to all my lovely divas!

Sarah, that is awesome news!!!

Sarah - that is SO GREAT about your hubby's new job! What good news!!!!

Now ladies, you are all just the most thoughtful, loving and giving women I know, and you have me in tears (literally), and I hardly ever cry. But I just couldn't accept. I would feel terrible not paying my portion for everything. It would make me feel really bad.....and I just couldn't do that. I'm sure you know what I mean, right? Your kindness makes me feel loved though, and that's one of the most important things there is. I truly, from the bottom of my heart, am very grateful to have such wonderful friends! :grouphug:

But hey, you never know. Don't count me out for good just yet. It's almost four months away still, and something great could happen.....maybe.....and I could be on a plane in February. Trying to remain optimistic.....it's more fun. :goodvibes

I know many of you are still recovering from this past meet, but I think sometime soon, perhaps after Halloween, I'm going to start the sign-up lists for meals. So maybe everyone can start thinking of where they are planning on eating. And we'll need more volunteers to make reservations. The front page has the list of who's booking what so far.

Also Angie, I'm sorry, but were you still ok with arranging the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour?

Is there still interest in the Gospel brunch? Sarah, were you still willing to book that??

Stacie, I know you've been super busy, but any ideas on getting together, even by phone, to discuss the Meet and Greet plans?

Melody, how are the tee designs coming along? I cannot wait to see them!!! :yay:

I know we are still just under four months before this trip, but they will be a busy four months with the holidays and all, so I just want to get the ball rolling on a few things. :)

Looks great to me! I am really looking forward to Cafe Orleans (OMG I love the Pommes Frites and the Beignets! As anyone who met up with me in September can attest!) and Carnation Cafe (Baked potato soup anyone?) and I am excited to try a bunch of new restaurants I haven't tried before (Ariels, Wine Country, Etc.)

I am still up for booking the Gospel brunch! I know some of you have done some research on it...do you know how far in advance we can book?

I can't wait to see the t-shirt designs ( though I love the design on the front page!) and I am thrilled that the scavenger hunt and meet-n-greet are being planned! I LOVED doing those last year!

Anyone heard from my other roomie lately? Oh January, where are you?

Sarah

We are making that same cake right now. But we are just making round cakes.

Capri, as your roommate I have decided that you must go! I will pay your part of the room expense! See, now you can go!

Yay for the job!!

We are having a lazy night. Kaeleb & I are watching Scooby Doo 2. I am also listening to my lectures online. We just made a cake so I am waiting for it too cool down so we can put frosting on it. I have 4 more hours of lectures to watch.

Sarah~ I am so in for Carnation Cafe & Cafe Orleans.

I am not sure what I did but I broke the button off my backspace key. So its sooooooo annoying when I have to use it!

Hi Friday night Divas! :) I'm at home watching TV and reading my new Wally Boag book. And eating Twilight sweetheart candies.

What's everyone else doing?

Evening all!

Beth- I'm glad your little gift arrived :thumbsup2. I know it's not much, but I wanted to give you a little piece of Disney magic for your birthday :wizard:.

Sarah- Congrats on your hubby's new job :woohoo:. That's great I hope you can cut your hours a little now. I'm also up for both Carnation Cafe and Cafe Orleans (love them both).

Capri- I really hope things turn around for you and you can make it :wizard:. I missed seeing you last year since I didn't go & I was looking forward to seeing you again & having a few drinks with you :rolleyes1. Stay positive and we won't count you out just yet :).

Hi to everyone else . I've had a hectic day today and am so glad it's the weekend. I still have to wake up early tomorrow since my DS has math tutoring in the morning :sad2:.

So what's everyone's plans for Halloween?? I'm just taking the baby trick or treating around the neighborhood with my niece while my older kids pass out candy. The baby is going to be Piglet. My sister got her a Cinderella costume, but I think it will be too cold for that & the Piglet costume is nice and cozy.

Good evening!
I came home and was put to work in helping my parents decorate for Harvest night tomorrow. I got my new phone in the mail today! :cool1: It's pretty cool

I just came home from 2 hours of errands and I'm pooped. My aunt may be stopping by. I'm just relaxing with my little sister in our room.

We just finished eating a yummy dinner (roast beef, mashed potatoes, home-made gravy, and buttered corn), and the rest of the night we're just hanging out. I'm gonna have a cold beer and maybe watch a movie.

Our Halloween plans are just trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. I think Justin's mom is coming over, so she may hand out candy while Justin and I take the boys trick-or-treating. I'm not sure what we're going to have to dinner tomorrow night though.....but it's got to be something quick and simple. I would say pizza, but we had pizza last night. Hmmmmm, gonna have to think about that one.

And as I said, don't count me out just yet.....don't take my name off the list just yet.....because that's just so final.....and depressing. I'm crossing my fingers and toes that something good will swing our direction. Maybe I should sell my old gold jewelry that I haven't worn since I was 20 - haha. ;):goodvibes

Katie, I really missed you last year too and if I can possibly make, we'll definitely have a drink (or a few) together.

Sarah - (you know why)

Thanks!

For Halloween I am taking the kiddos to a community carnival that focuses on fun and games not candy and then I will take them trick or treating to family members homes. My daughter is going as Stitch (my ds's old costume) but she looks like eeyore in it! DS is going as Buzz Lightyear. I just showed him his costume a few days ago and he wants to wear it constantly! It even has wings that light up at the tips when you push a button! I don't remember ever seeing him as excited as when he got that costume! What a joy! This is the first year we will be doing anything much for Halloween. Usually we turn off the outside lights and watch "the great pumpkin, charlie brown" on dvd. We will still do that but there will be regular Halloween stuff going on as well! Hope everyone has a very safe day tomorrow.

It should be an early night for us because the next morning I have to get up at an insanely early time to take my mom 2 hours to the airport for her to go to Hawaii for 2 weeks. I have to pick her up at 4:30 am. Thank goodness for Daylight saving time ending so at least I get an extra hour!

Morning and Happy Halloween everyone!!

Sara Congrats on Dh's job! I bet that is such a relief for you guys and I agree with everyone hopefully you can work a little less now!!

Capri I am with the others and am SO crossing my fingers and thinking good thoughts and prayers that you can come in FEB and that your dh finds a great job! I really want to spend more time with you!! I had so much fun last time. And what ABOUT miss January? Is she going to be able to make it? I sure hope so!

Dawn I just LOVE the cupcakes and pumpkins. How cute! I bet you all had so much fun doing that! :)

My girls had their spookarama with girl scouts so we dropped them off and orig shane and I were going to have some "alone" time but my parents went to a halloween party and so we had Lynn (she has been staying with them since we were gone and is STILL staying with them, her choice) but they don't want her at their house alone so she has to come back to our house when they aren't there. SOOOO we just got fast food and came home. I watched Ghost Whisperer which was fun, it was about the headless horsemen and then CSI which I had tivoed from the night before. The girls came home and had LOTS of fun. I guess they took some pics of them but our leader is framing them so HOPEFULLY I will get them at the next meeting! Last time they had pics at an event I didn't get them till practically the end of the year.

Anyway we have the game in an hour and then we are coming back home and I have some laundry and the girls have to clean their rooms but then we will probably watch some halloween movies till it is time to go to mom's and then I bought one of those cute little halloween cakes from Baskin Robbins and we are going to get one of those pumpkin pizza's and mom is making chilli and then as I said her neighborhood does a hay ride which is a LOT of fun. So I am really looking forward to it! Should be a lot of fun!

Hope everyone has LOTS of fun tonight! TTYL

Happy Halloween, Diva Dawn!! The cupcakes look so wonderful.

That Cheryl really knows how to have fun! Can't wait to hear how her trip is going.

Deb, one of my keyboards does that too, but I just keep pushing the key back on. Yours must be totally broken off I guess... no fun.

Why don't we have a pumpkin smilie? :dance3:

Happy Halloween ladies!

Dawn: I LOVE those painted pumpkins. And the frosting on those cupcakes looks so yummy and fluffy. I tried to make cream cheese frosting here with some kind of cream cheese subsitute and without a mixer and let's just say, well, it's a good thing I didn't take a picture of them. They looked pretty sorry. Fortunately, first graders are very forgiving.

Capri: I have a feeling that all will work out and you WILL be able to go to Disneyland. I, however, don't think that I will be going. ;)

Sarah: Congrats on the DH job! I hope it goes great!

We had a nice Halloween here. Had a little party at home with the four of us and made a Halloween dinner of witches brains (spaghetti), goblin fingers (hot dogs cut up and curled) and termite blood (blackberry juice). Plus I decorated the house. Not nearly as fun as trick or treating, but our way of marking the occasion. :)

Halloween at the school also went well. I went for easy. Cut jack o laterns for both kids' classes and did a toss the coin in the pumpkin game. Then did pin the nose on the pumpkin, Halloween tic tac toe, make your own Halloween finger puppets. Then we had mummy wrap with toilet paper and blow the balloon across the floor races. And I made those sorry looking Halloween cupcakes and lollipop ghosts (aka, kleenex over lollipops). Kids were very happy with the party, so I'll call it a success! :thumbsup2

Other news...we made plans to go to DL Jan 6 & 7 to celebrate my 40th birthday. My actual birthday is Dec 27, but we'll still be in Switzerland so we're going to celebrate a little late. Anyone want to come to Disneyland for a party to ring in a new decade with me?

Happy Halloween everyone! Hope you enjoy the holiday with your families and get lots and lots of yummy treats!

-Jen

Hello ladies!!!!! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!

I am sick. Boooooo!!! Nothing to serious, (so far), just a head cold, but I can't breath at all through my nose and I hate that. Plus I have a bad sinus headache. Ugh. :sad2:

Anyway, I'm still excited for Halloween and hope you all have a great time whatever you do tonight!

I read back, but with my medicine head don't know what I'll recall.

Sarah, congrats to your DH!!! :wizard: As for the gospel brunch you just have to call and book it through the events planner. Not sure how far out though.

Dawn, yummy cupcakes!!

Capri, you're going. End of discussion. So tell Justin right now to be prepared because none of us here are taking no for an answer. Don't make me get my whip out young lady!!!! ;)

Cristabel, glad you like your new phone! :)

Katie, take pics of the baby as Piglet! Too cute. :goodvibes

Kelly, have fun tonight. I want a pumpkin pizza too!! lol :)

Jen, glad to hear Halloween went well!! ::yes::

OKay and that is where my memory fails me. I hope everyone else is doing well. Talk to y'all later!!!
