I know I was posting about this on FB but it is easier to post pics on here ;)

These are from a few years back at Apple Hill. Plus they are festive for the season! :)

Just a word of warning--if you're ordering a costume order BIG. They run really small.

Oh, I know and I hate it! Actually I'm thinking of doing a t-shirt costume. It's cheaper and I can still wear the shirt later.

On another note - do you of you have AT&T u-verse for TV, phone, and/or internet? We are thinking of doing one of their bundles and saving a little money?

My family does! We really love having cable! :lmao:We got the 3 for $99 deal. I don't know if it's still going on.

Hey, We are going to be there on Friday, so be on the lookout! I hope we see you. We are doing the Welcome Tour in the AM and then later are doing Jedi Training, but otherwise are unplanned. Oh, yeah, we have Goofy's at 5:30 too. Other than that, no plans!

Ill be on the look out. Keep your eyes open for us. My nephew will be wearing a Mickey Scorcer hat. He loves that thing. Have fun on the tour. We are planning to do the Jedi training also. I am shooting for the first one at 1030 since we have BB ressies at 1130.

Hi from Switzerland Ladies! :goodvibes

It's a grey morning here. Kids are at school and DH is at the doctor's for ear aches. Seems colds are going around everywhere. So far I've stayed healthy...let's see if we can keep it that way!

So we have been here almost a month. Wow. Still don't know if it's sunk in, but I think I'm moving beyond just "set up and survive" mode. Still missing some key items that would make life easier, namely washing machine and dryer (I've been washing clothes in the tub, ach!) and our car. But kids are adjusting to school and DH to work and I'm well, keeping busy just keeping the house together and watching the kids. I am still working a bit, though finding it harder and harder to feel connected, especially since I pretty much know I'm a short timer. I have been applying to jobs in Switzerland and have had a couple of first interviews over the phone. I don't enjoy trying to find a job, but need to keep my chin up and trust that things will work out on that front.

Kids have next week off, so we are going to the Matterhorn this weekend. If we can get the car next week, we may go on another mini vaca the following weekend. I'm still hoping for DLP, but I don't think that's gonna happen. Not yet...but eventually!

Many good wishes to everybody! And have fun on those DL and Vegas trips!

-Jen

I am so jealous of your life. Well, not the part about washing clothes in the tub, but everything else yeah.

Stacie, sad to hear about losing your supervisor. These times are tough, so whatever you do, hold onto your job until you know you have another one. I'm not surprised to hear someone offered you great money, they would be lucky to have you. But still, it's a horrid market out there and driving two hours one way has gotta be worse than your schedule, no?

Yep, bummer about losing my boss, but she is getting a great opportunity somewhere else. Can't blame her for that. She is also very supportive of me looking for something new. She always said she wished I would stay around forever, but knows that I need to keep moving up.

As of now, I have no desire for that long of a commute. Great money or not. My quality of life is more important than extra money right now. I don't plan on leaving my job unless I have another one. I love what I do and am happy here. But I know there is something better out there for me.

As horrid as everyone says the job market is, its not that bad for my field. I am lucky I know. I just want the perfect shift, location, money and satisfaction with my job. Not asking too much right?

Wishing you luck on the interview. I hate job interviewing but it's a necessary pain in the bottom! The two hour commute sounds horrible but sometimes if the money is just too good to pass up. Mr. CA commutes 2 hours but that's round trip - it does take a lot away from family time. :(

Thanks! I did really well I think in my interview. I will know either way in a week or two. But I don't like the interview process to be honest. I haven't ever had to interview for my jobs. I was recruited to them from word of mouth from other workers. So its been nice, It was the first interview I have really ever had. Normally I sit on the other side of the table and give interviews. Overall I feel good about it though.

Oh, I know and I hate it! Actually I'm thinking of doing a t-shirt costume. It's cheaper and I can still wear the shirt later.

Wonder where you got that idea? :rotfl:

I had my annual review today, and let me just say I totally rock. My boss had amazing things to say about me. The only thing she had issue with was my self evaluation that I did. She said I was way to hard on myself and bumped me up in many areas. So I am pretty darn pleased with that.

Hmmmm. Maybe there's an opportunity where your boss is going?

:thumbsup2 on the review!

Exactly what I was thinking! (about following the boss). Great on the review. You are fortunate (or should we say smart) to be in your sector.

Cristabel if u end up with a costume iatead of a tee, also be sure to buy a costume from a place that will let you return it if you don't like it or it doesn't fit. Target is good that way.

Morning divas and TGIF! Well last night was nice and relaxing. Lynn was at work and Shane and the girls had soccer again so I had part of the evening to myself. It was nice! ;)

Survivor was interesting to say the least. It was nice to see the purple team at Tribal for once and I was SO glad to see that Yaz girl go. She was really annoying. And I am really loving Flash Forward for my gals that like it as well! It is so intriguing and I can't wait till the next week!

Have to work today and then tonight we will prob grab a quick bite and then go to Sam's and then it is GW and just relaxing. Tomorrow we have a game but otherwise not much else going on and then we are hopefully going to run up to Apple Hill after church on Sunday! I am so excited. With the DL trip coming up I had totally forgotten about it but I am so excited to go. It is kind of a tradition and I can't have a Halloween season without my caramel apples or my pics of the girls. Plus it is supposed to be a really nice day weather wise which I guess we need to enjoy because there is supposed to be a wicked storm coming in Monday that is supposed to last through wed. Supposedly up to 7 inches of rain and 40 mph winds. YUCK! Don't get me wrong I am looking forward to a little fall but I don't know if I am ready for that! ;)

Anywho that's bout it on my end. I did finally hear from my girl scout leader and we were supposed to have a meeting next Fri night but then she said it was moved to the 23rd which obviously I am not going to make. So now we may or may NOT have a meeting next Friday. Not sure. But the girls ARE going to do an event called Spookarama which is really fun for them. They get to wear their costumes and they do all sorts of fun halloweeny stuff. They haven't gone to one since 06 so I am happy that they are finally going to another one! I am also glad that GS is finally starting for the year.

Anyway that's it for me! Hope everyone has a great day and has something fun planned for the weekend! :)

Good Morning Everyone:goodvibes

I am feeling like myself again, and sooo grateful for that! So I'm off to begin the skirt for my mom's costume. Send me good thoughts, wishes and sewing mice to help:rotfl:

Have a Lovely Day:flower3:

Yodeleheehooo!

Had an action packed day here in Switzerland. DH is sick with ear infection, so I had kid duty and find a job duty. Woke up bright and early to get breakfast made, lunches prepared and then myself dressed in interview fashion. Unfortunately, I didn't yet have shoes or a proper work bag, so I left in my hiking shoes with plastic bag, hoping I could find a store after dropping boys off and before getting on train to Zurich.

Boys were good this morning, fortunately, and we made our bus on time and I dropped them off at school. Then I went to Migros, which was open at 8:30 am and sells absolutely everything. Found some boots that went with my suit and a bag which I bought with cash (since I don't yet have my maestro card set up and Visa and AmEx don't work at Migros). Went to public restroom to change out shoes and bag and then proceeded to train station trying to look professional. Made it to the interview in Zurich and had my interview with a placement agency who is going to propose me as a candidate to eBay for a 6 month position. So this is my second run in with eBay here in Switzerland. Send pixie dust. I think it would be way cool to work with eBay here.

After interview made it back to Baden to sign up for some German lessons with Migros. This super shopping store does more than Target: groceries, clothes, and even classes!! Who'd have thunk! Anyway, I start intensive German on Oct 19. They said if I got a job I just bring in the offer letter and they will help me switch to another class, so all's good.

Then I came home and went to the Gemeindehaus (or city administration building) and got a letter that permits us to LEAVE the country next week. So we can get our car! And theoretically we could go to DLP. If only I could convince the DH.

Got back on the bus to pick up the kids and they had a SUPER week with all good behavior. I had promised them lego toys if they had a perfect week, so we went to Manor and got some lego games.

Now I'm back home and need to pack before our early morning departure to Matterhorn.

Oh, and I got word on another job interview for a position with my current company for Tuesday. So hopefully, something will work out for me.

I was all about ACTION today. Not sure if I was brave, but I was MOVING. Not exercise moving, but moving nonetheless! :thumbsup2

Later ladies.
Jen

Good morning!
It's Friday!

Have a great weekend!
I still have one class but I don't even care because it's such a lovely Friday morning. I'm going to buckle down and complete as much homework as I can this weekend to get ahead.

Sounds like a great day, Jen! Interesting about the interview with your current company - I gather that is the one you used to work for in CA that wasn't guaranting a transfer? Sounds like two good options for you. :wizard::wizard::wizard:

Did you ship your own car there? I think I recall that you were going to do that. How far is the commute for your DH?

Very cool about the language class in the department store.

What is the weather like there now?

Dawn: Glad you are feeling better each day! :wizard: for sewing mice!

Hope everyone has a good day.

I didn't take many pictures last weekend since I did the Photopass, but I did find a couple of cute tie dye t-shirts.

Not sure why they all came out different colors, I took them the same way just a few seconds apart. Weird!

Great shots!

Remember that phone company charging me those bogus amounts for a few phone calls? I called Chase/WAMU and filed a claim against those suckers! The lady said they will reimbuse me the $80+ dollars that the company is trying to charge me and investigate the company.

I thoroughly searched their website and NO list of charges anywhere. On the payphone it says it's only $0.50 per call!

TAKE THAT CUSTOM TELECONNECT JERKS!

Wow, it's definitely Friday, no one is here!
I hope, wherever you all are, you are all having a great day!

Just a thought for those who might be flying into Orange County, if we have 5 people arriving at around the same time, we can do the Disneyland Express for the same price as the Super Shuttle, $16 each round trip.

Men, for the most part, suck.
Tag Fairy...?? :rotfl:

TAKE THAT CUSTOM TELECONNECT JERKS!

Yikes!! Cristabel, you go girl!!

Jen, I love reading about your adventures. I know it's really just everyday life, but being in a foreign country makes it much more exciting!

I NEVER do anything for Halloween but this year I am going to a show at the best jazz club in town. They are themeing it into a Roaring 20's speakeasy so I'm actually going to dress up. Bryan's music teacher is in the band so I am going with Bryan, two of his friends, and my older son. DH is not that interested so he is staying home to hand out candy. Bryan's friends will probably spend the night and watch the Simpsons marathon (kind of a tradition with them). I'm so glad it's on a weekend this year.

Is anyone who is going still going to be there on the 3rd march thats when i get to disneyland after san francisco and las vegas please tell me someone will be i would love to meet you all!!:rolleyes1

So my parents came to visit out of the blue which was, what I thought, a nice surprise.

We had just finished dinner and I was taking the plates to the sink when my parents asked me to sit down.

Ok, I knew this was not going to be good news.

This afternoon my dog, Osita, got out yet again. My dad pursued her on foot and by car. She just kept running too fast for anyone to catch her. She ran so fast down our street onto a major street and was hit, and killed, by a car.

:sad1:

I'm just so incredibly sad right now.
My parents are taking me home for the weekend.

God has reasons for everything.

Oh Cristabel, I am so very sorry to hear the awful news about Osita.:sad1:
I don't even know what to say, except that I am so sad for you. I read your post, looked above your avetar and shed a tear. I hope being home with your family comforts you. You poor baby girl - the mom in me just wants to hug you.
