Just a quick hello to all the ladies. I only have a minute, but I wanted to check in ( I feel so out of the loop). I've been really itching to go to Disneyland. I haven't gone since July (which is a long time for me), but the timing hasn't been right lately. I want to try and go this weekend, but I think the crowds might be too heavy because of D23.

Hope the ladies at D23 are having a great time.

Dawn- Safe travels & hope you have a great birthday at Disneyland :thumbsup2. ¡Feliz cumpleaños chica caliente!

Capri- Love the pics. Looks like you all had a great time even though it was hot.

Callie- If you can swing it, I think you should try and make it to one of the meets. You will be greatly missed if you don't make it to either :sad1:.

Beth- Hope you're feeling a little better today :flower3:.

You are coming to see us on the 19th though, right?

Sarah

Ugh, rough rough week.....first on Monday I had the day off of work for Labor Day. I went to the mall to look for a gift for my cousin and I went to use the bathroom. I felt horrible pain and you guessed it, I had an UTI!! :headache::headache: It's the most painful thing in the world and it sucks to have it but I guess a lot of women tend to get this. :( I had to wait until Tuesday to call my doctor. She was able to see me and gave me some meds, which have helped and I feel better.

Last night, I don't know what I did but I hurt my lower back area. It hurts like heck and I looked for my Salon Pas but couldn't find it. :( The only thing open around here late at night is CVS Pharmacy. I drove there and just walking was causing pain, sitting caused pain. I thought I was going to cry.

I made it to the pharmacy and bought extra strength muscle and joint cream (same as Ben Gay) and also Salon Pas. I put both on when I got home and tried to sleep. When I woke up this morning, it hurt so bad getting out of bed. I went to the bathroom and my back hurt even more.

I waited until my doctor was open (8:30am) and called them. They told me they are overbooked for today. :sad1: My brother was closeby because my parents are out of town and he was dropping my little sister off at school. I called him and he came to my house to pick me up and took me to Urgent Care.

The Urgent Care lobby was pretty full but the doctor saw me quickly. I only waited about 15-20 minutes. The doctor said I have inflamatory back strain and he gave me a prescrip for 2 meds to take. He said it won't affect my med for the UTI and that I need to stay home from work. I wanted to go into work today and he said no and wrote me a note to give to HR and my supervisor.

I will see how I feel tomorrow...I honestly hope I feel better. It hurt just trying to walk and even sitting hurts. :headache: :sad1:

This is a really bad week for me......oh and last night there was a spider above my bed and I had to use the swiffer mop to kill it but it caused even more back pain. Dang bugs!! :headache::headache:

Ugh, I hope I have a better end to this week and a better next couple of days. No more bad days please. I actually cried last night and just prayed that God would help me....

I hope you ladies are all having a good day. :3dglasses

Capri- those are awesome pics! :) I have been trying to score tickets to watch Conan O' Brien since he films at the Universal lot here in Hollywood. I've seen vids where he has done funny things for people riding the tram. :rotfl: Glad you had a good time :goodvibes

DBF and I took a spur of the moment trip to Disneyland yesterday. It wasn't to crowded at all. He had two days left on his Sumer pass and it expired today. I really wantd the 999 pin but it was sold out very early in the day.

Good afternoon!
I'm thinking about heading off to Disneyland for lunch. I have homework but it's very light, a take home quiz and some reading. I'm hungry! I think I'm going to get a burger from either Hungry Bear or Tomorrowland, not sure yet.

Have a great day! I hope it's not too packed with D23 starting off today. You would think with such a large expo they would extend park hours but nope!

Do Hungry Bear and test it out for me! I will be there in less than a week! I need to know where the best views are so where I should sit!

The best views of the river are on the top floor because you can see the Mark Twain go around as well as the canoes. I did the canoes two weeks ago and they are hard! The guides are pretty funny though, or at least the one in our canoe was a riot!

Aww, I feel your pain. I was just pricing out how much it would be to go to DL for my birthday in October. Even though I already knew it wouldn't be affordable, I just had to torture myself.
Between hotel, gas, food and van rental it would already be over $600. That doesn't include anything else like Halloween party tickets for 6! :scared1: So needless to say, it's not happening. :(

I'm sorry WDW is on hold for you, but you know, they have some really nice beaches in Florida! Kendall could end up getting her wish for "both". ;)

It is always tough to decide how to allocate the family vacation time and money. I really want to do one last Holiday Disney trip this Xmas, but am getting some resistance, and we likely won't end up going.

I hope that you are feeling better. Capri, I loved your pics too. My kids and husband liked Universal studios too. I could take it or leave it myself.

Oh my gosh! I bought that Pin at Little Green Men at about 2:00. They had a little basket of about 30 and he asked if I wanted one or two. I wish I would have thought to buy two! I just bought it to commemorate my birthday in the park. I wish they would have done one with the haunted mansion and 999.

I actually don't see D23 effecting the parks negatively, unless a lot of people brought families. The event itself is so busy(and really great stuff) and all at the convention center. None of those people are going to miss the events to go to the park. I will be curious to see how it turns out.

Hi girls! I hope you are all having a wonderful day!

Hi Deb. Back at ya!

Sorry to hear you're having so much pain . Hope you feel better soon.

Just wanted to say Hi!

I am feeling alright now. I am a bit nauseous from the anestetic but my foot is doing alright. The doc wrapped it really tight and gave me some pain meds for when it really hurts. I'm not one for meds so I'll probably ice on it (on/off 30 minutes) to keep the swelling down.

Thank you all for the well wishes left on my FB page. :grouphug: You all are great!

You might want to rethink the pain meds.....if your doctor anticipated you needing them you are better off using them before the pain is really bad. There are these really complicated pain pathways that I used to be able to recite about 20 years ago, that once all the receptor sites are all full of pain mediators and stuff, (called wind up), you have trouble catching up with pain relief. Meaning, once it is bad, hard to get rid of it.

I hate codiene, but took it quite religiously the first three days, then didn't need it. Makes me queasy and itchy. My orthopod said, get high and stay there!! I intially had no pain, but then the local anesthetic wore off!!!

Hope you can take it easy and your recovery is smooth!!!

Hopefully the pain doesn't last too long! And definitely take the meds if you need them.

For those who haven't seen my post on FB, my DS18 called me from college today, he said You need to come pick me up. So the first thing I thought was that he got expelled or kicked out or whatever. Then he said he has the swine flu!! His roommate had it right after school started and was gone for a week then came back last week and now Zach has it. They did a blood test so it's official. He's on 4 meds, mostly for congestion/cough/sleeping. But he can't go back to school for 7 days!!! So he'll be quarantined in his room for the next week!!! And I'll be running all over the house with a can of Lysol and hand sanitizer!!! :scared1:

I read your post and I'm so sorry he ended up with the Swine Flu! I hope he gets over it quick and that no one else in the house gets it.

Just wanted to do a quick drive by to say hello to my all time favorite divas!

OH NO!!!:scared1:
I am so sorry for you and your DS, Stacie.
I hope he gets over the bad part and feels better real soon.:wizard:

Steph, take the pain meds, it's just for a few days and I think you will heal quicker if you feel better.:cloud9:

Rochelle, I am so sorry about your UTI and back problems. My DD has back problems (severe scoliosis) and I know how much pain it has brought her over the years. Glad you are on the mend.

Is anyone else glad it's almost Friday? I SURE AM!:woohoo:

You're right, it was quite nice in the park especially for the time I arrived. If crowds are lower than I expected I'll usually take a picture of a usually congested or busy area. I took one today in DCA but I'm trying to get it from my phone to here. I'll try to post it later.

You really thought he got expelled?
It sounds like my dad. He had thyroid cancer so after the surgery to be safe rather than sorry, they gave him a radiation pill and he had to be quarantined. We couldn't be within 10 feet of him and we couldn't use the shower. He had to use plastic utensils because any kind of bodily fluid (saliva and sweat) could be harmful to us. Sometimes I felt like we should have been wearing haz mat suits. Diana and I had to shower at the gym during that week.
