Wow, Linda, that shocked me to hear about your childhood. You hear a lot about kids growing up without a dad (unfortunately I was one of them, too), but to hear that a mom abandoned her child, well, that's just unthinkable! :sad2:

Breezy, if you're reading, skip this next part or your head might explode.

And I agree with everyone else. Bree is a gorgeous, intelligent, thoughtful, amazing young woman, and we all know who raised her up to be that way. :goodvibes

Callie, your post brought a tear to my eye.
That is one of the nicest things anyone has ever said.
Thank you.:flower3:

I watched Modern Family and thought it was great, I loved the Lion King part!

We watched both after DWTS.

We really liked Modern Family (although I think Ed O'Neills wife is mis-cast; didn't care for her and think she was not believeable as his wife). I especially liked the end when Julie Bowen said "you named her Lilly, won't she have a hard time pronouncing that?" and when Ed said "Oh, let me see the little pot sticker!". We already saw this episode at the D23 expo and I laughed just as much the second time.

We thought Cougartown was dumb (and I like Courtney Cox, just not this show).

Here is a strange question but what is the weather like in Feb/Mar?

Of course with me being the hot flash queen it shouldn't matter but I was wondering what to bring.

I hope CheryL had a great time at the Villas! I can't wait to hear all about it.:goodvibes

Big Hugs for Linda just cuz i wannnnnnnnnnA!

BLooooooooooooOOOoooooOOOoooWs some rain to Courtney to help with the fires:wizard:

aahhh Katie... you are such a good person.. hang in there. Don't be afraid to tell your family that this can't go on forever.. and you will watch them til a date you decide then you will need help.

OOOOOHHHHHHHH........Mc Dreamy is on tonight!!
I am so excited!!

Hey DebbieLouWHo! How are you doing?

Vicki... have a great time at the parks! Did i tell you it was so great to meet you.. i enjoyed our lunch!

Anyone going to be in the park tomorrow? I'm heading down after class to ride Space Mountain and Haunted Mansion. I can't control myself, I just bought another box of Halloween funfetti cake mix :lmao:

It looks really good! I haven't seen it yet. It's on my DVR.

I wasn't too thrilled with Cougartown. I'll give it a few more chances, but it didn't grab me. Not yet.

LOL Well, it's unpredictable. I've experienced February's in CA that had temps in the 80's, and some that were freezing. Like jacket and gloves cold.
So your best bet, is layers. I'll definitely bring a jacket, maybe hat and gloves. All jeans for me, no shorts. And some tees, with long sleeves to layer underneath if needed.

Ditto. :)

Dawn it was so much fun meeting you and it was extra special celebrating your birthday and then having the opportunity to sit across from you at lunch! Can't wait to see you again and to meet your mom because I'm positive she's as sweet as you are!

We will be there Sat. Have fun! I can't wait to ride SM and to go on HM again!!! I love the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay. And we are also planning to watch the fireworks...I hope Zero really does fly!

You are so fun and so motivated with all of your baking! I wish I had 1/4 of your energy for baking! I did get as far as Googling the recipe for Puppy Chow and I'd be happy to make it if someone would only go to the grocery store for me. I am not fond of going to the grocery store at all!

Just a quick check in.

Just got back from a week trip with the extended family. It was fun, but - MAN!!! - it was hot the last day. We had a really good time even with so many things closed.

I get to go back this weekend since my BFF is visiting from AZ. They are staying at the villas for the weekend. Will take pics and share when I get back.

I love it too. I'm so sad I'll miss it this year. But I've seen it the two years prior. Enjoy it for me!!

Hi Kerri! Welcome back. Glad to hear you had a fun time. And I hope you have more fun with your friend! :wizard:

Thanks for the info. I don't have a hat and I hate gloves so that will be interesting. I keep gloves on long enough to clean the snow off the car and off they come. Maybe I will bring Raymond's Grumpy sweatshirt, lol.

I wll warn ya'll though when a hot flash comes on I will be stripping like crazy. :scared1: Hope someone is there to catch the flying clothes. :lmao: As for shorts I haven't owned a pair in probably 15 years, so it will be jeans for me too.

I think my mom (VintageDisneyRules) and dad are going on Saturday.:confused3

And I heard that Zero is going to fly. It was neat to see Dumbo flying this summer.:thumbsup2

Thanks Dawn. As soon as I can sit my sister down for more than a minute, I'm going to tell her that I'm only going to watch them until winter break (or sooner if I find a job). But if I'm not working my winter break, I really just want to spend time with my kids. Plus it will be around the baby's 1st birthday. My older kids are getting tired of me watching & they tell me it's not worth the extra money. My sister pays me $60 week, but she in arrears with her payments. She currently owes be $240.

I can't wait either. I was toying around with the idea of going this weekend because I'm excited to see all the new Halloween stuff, but I think I'm going to wait a little while since the first weekend might be packed.

Beth- I just wanted to let you know what a sweetie you are :lovestruc. I got your card in the mail today & it really lifted my spirits. It's amazing how supporting words can really make someone feel 100% better.

I really love you gals .

Hi Shirley,

I read your post from earlier. Such a hard thing to deal with, but it is so wonderful that your stepmother whom you consider your "real" Mom, took you in as her own, and showered you with love. An unusual heartwarming story.:cloud9: What a blessing for you and your sister. :grouphug:

As for clothing go with the layers. Last year I about froze my fanny off waiting for Fantasmic. Ask Beth!! I had on my Ugg boots, a hat, gloves and a coat, and I was still cold!! But I am always cold it seems like. :rolleyes1

Man, I wish the hot flashes would start for me. I am so sick of Aunt Flo and all the havoc she reeks in my life. I am almost 49 so hopefully my time is almost here.;) No worries about the flying clothes! If we are lucky the days will be beautiful and warm, but the nights will be cold. Plan on it.

And I, too, was touched by your story about your parents.
I think it was Kelly who said sometimes we try harder to be good parents when our own were neglectful. I like that train of thought, thanks Kelly.:goodvibes

I am SO EXCITED to hear from Cheryl, too! I PM'ed her but have not heard back. I hope her stay was magical.:lovestruc

Funny thing is I had a hysterectomy when I was 39 years old but am having the flashes now at the age of 56, go figure.

I must have told DD a million times that I loved her growing up, probably drove her crazy, lol. I never had pictures of me until I was four (I have only seen one picture of me as a baby). So in my crazy mind I equated love with having pictures taken. When DD was born that girl had so many pictures taken that she must be the most loved kid around, lol. Poor grandkids have to go through the same thing.

She was a very special woman. She not only raised us but her daughter had been hit by a truck when she was little so she was special needs along with a grandson. She passed away when I was 23 it just about killed me. My biological mother passed away six months later, it was like a distant relative dying.

Layers it will be. I remember when Raymond and I were at WDW on Dec. 1st for our 26th anniversary and during the day it was hot. The night when we went to see the Osborne Lights we just about froze to death. People were buying sweatshirts so fast that they had to keep going in the back and getting more. They were also selling hot chocolate like crazy.

Yes, we're going on Sat. Can someone tell me the best place to watch the fireworks and how early we should get a spot? Usually we just see it from where ever we happen to be when it starts and don't even watch the whole show. This time I would like to sit down and see the whole show. Thanks !
