Haven't had a chance to read back much. We've got a busy weekend planned! My DS, BIL, nephews & DB are going to be staying with us for 2 nights after we hit DL in a few weeks. My mom & dad are getting a hotel room nearby so they don't have to drive back & forth every day in weekday traffic. Definately going to be a full house!! Which means we have to add ubber cleaning to our list of to-do's this weekend. I'm going to ask my mom & dad to do a kid walkthrough when they come next weekend (as we don't have any children & my nephews are still pretty young).

Hope everyone has a good weekend and can find sometime to relax before the week starts again!

Hi Ladies,

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. My Dh leave Monday for Vegas and are so excited to have 4 days with no kids:cool1:

I need some advice from you.....

A lady at work heard that my DH and I are taking the kids to Disneyland in October. She really wants to take her grand kids who are 9,6 and 4 but her daughter says the youngest should be 10 before going. So she has decided she wants to just take the oldest and come with us. She is a sweet lady but a little too much for me to take longer than a few minutes at a time. She's also never really traveled before and I don't think she has any idea what she's in for.

How do you politely say no to someone like that?

Thanks!
Angie

Wow, that is a tough one but you should be able to tell her that this is a special family time for you and you really don't want to have anyone else on the trip. She should be understanding about that, but if she is not then she probably would not be no matter what you tell her. I personally don't like having anyone on my Disney trips (I have even left DH behind a couple of times) that is not up for it. (You know what I mean, sometimes I think people should have to pass a test before being allowed to go to Disney! Yeah, I know :snooty: )

Angie - I would just tell her that you're having a family trip this time. I think it's so strange that people will just invite themselves to your vacation - very funny (and a little nervy!). I wouldn't feel bad about it. If it was a group trip, that would be another thing entirely. When I go with my family, I don't want to have to worry about someone else. If you had invited her, that would be one thing, but inviting yourself is not cool, especially if she's not a really good friend! I think she probably would have a great time with her grandchild, but she doesn't need to tag along with you to do that!

Wow, less than one page of posts today and 3 of them are mine! I guess everyone is off to Disneyland or some other place having a life. I have done one load of laundry, cleaned one toilet, and gone grocery shopping. Still a lot of cleaning up to do but I am such a procrastinator. Hopefully I will have more energy after dinner.

Angie - have fun in Vegas!

Just wanted to say hello to my Diva's.

I hope you're all doing well.

*Happy Birthday Heather*

*Cristabel....hope you had fun at DL today*

*Kelly...thinking of you and hope you're recovering from your surgery*

Well wishes and happy thoughts to all of you.:grouphug:

Good morning ladies! Haven't been on in so long!:sad2: My road trip to Ohio went well but left me little time for the dis boards.

Anyway, I am back and since all 4 of the kids will be in school starting tomorrow that should leave me some time to get on! :cool1:

Hope everyone is doing well. Talk to you all soon! :thumbsup2

Hey Cassi :wave2::wave2: Welcome to the other side of the boards ;) You really should think about doing a girls only trip to DL - fun times!

I love it because it's not in your face tie dye and very cute!! I'm getting a scoop neck t-shirt though, not the V-neck. I know I did get one other tie dye Mickey head shirt, but a Diva should have options, yes???!!

Hi girls! It's been a busy couple of days . . . . Mom came Friday and we went out to Chinese pretty late, came home and went to bed.

Got up at 6:30 the next morning and prepared the batter for popovers, then her caregiver came at 8:30 and some friends arrived at 9 a.m. for brunch of popovers, strawberry butter, fruit and chicken/apple sausage (and LOTS of coffee). Linda (aka lulubelle) arrived around 11 a.m. and ate some brunch and we talked until about noon--then everyone but Linda left and I scurried about getting ready to go to DL!

Linda and I left at 1 p.m. and met Cristabel in the Esplanade. Some of us went together and bought her a Costco Deluxe pass as a late graduation/welcome to college gift! AmySue brought up the idea a couple of weeks ago and she and I have been plotting! It was hard keeping one step ahead of Cristabel and keeping her from going out and buying her pass--I had to keep coming up with bigger and bigger fibs! AmySue performed brilliantly!

Linda and I had the pleasure of presenting her with the pass--she was really surprised (I have pics I will post later). I know she's happy to be able to go to DLR for the next year!

So we entered DL and went on Pirates, HM and then hit Hungry Bear for a late lunch. (We weren't eating until after 7 p.m. otherwise) We then went on Pooh, looked around Pooh Corner and then Linda and Cristabel went on Indy while I had a bottle of water and chilled. It was very warm and HUMID. When they got off we went over to DCA and tried to go on Monsters, Inc., but the line was like 20 minutes long and it wasn't worth it to us. So we went to the Animation Academy and drew Mickey Mouse (Cristabel did the best--mine looked like Mickey was on steroids!)

Then we stopped in the Off the Page store for a little bit and then went to the It's Tough to Be a Bug! show. Always love that show. By then it was 6:55 p.m. so we headed over to Wine Country Trattoria. Stacielee and her daughter Allyson were waiting and said that Heather, Donna and Vicki had gone to use fastpasses for Soarin! So we checked in while we waited for them and they came just after we were seated--we got the primo location on the patio next to the wall so we could see the Electrical Parade--it was PERFECT. We couldn't have planned it better.

The parade was very nice--Heather had not seen it since she was 5~~!

There were a few new floats (including Tinkerbelle) so that was fun for me even though I have seen ELP many times. We also overheard a CM tell the next table was that the rumor was it would move back to Main Street next year. Keep your fingers crossed!

After the parade--I think Heather, Donna, Vicki and Vicki's Mr. California and his son (who stopped by a couple of times to say hi) were hanging around. The rumor was that Murphy the dragon was going to make a F! appearance so they might have headed over there--Linda left to beat the fireworks crowd and after a pit stop so did Stacielee, Allyson and I (I was riding back with them). We made it to the tram stop just as the fireworks were ending so got right on the second tram and were on the road. We had to take Allyson to Biola College where stacielee's other daughter was and then we came back home to rescue Bella from the horror of being in the kitchen. She was VERY happy to see us and seemed particularly happy to chew on stacie's toes (it's one of her obsessions). We sat out on the deck for a few minutes chatting and decompressing and then went to bed around midnight. We both slept in, then ate leftover brunch yummies from yesterday and she left about an hour ago to go take the girls to lunch and then drive home to Arizona.

So, that was my weekend--very fun to see many of the DisDivas, celebrate Heather's birthday (I'll let her tell you all about everything she did--but it was fab) and to present Ms. Cristabel with her present! And to enjoy DL (even though it was a lot more humid than I would like).

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend--has anyone heard from Kelly?

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE that!!!!! Can someone PM me the etsy info. I am very interested!

Dinner: Goofy's Kitchen OR Napa Rose (are we going to pick one? Sound like most people are leaning toward Napa. I agree that we always go to GK with the kids and would like to try Napa)
I really think at this point Goofy's Kitchen should be laid to rest. No one seems interested anymore. I know I'm not. And many others prefer to do Napa Rose.
I'll probably just grab a counter service meal that night since it will be a late lunch at Cafe Orleans. If anyone is interested in doing that with me, or maybe even doing Jazz Kitchen let me know.

Sounds hectic, but fun! Good luck with all the cleaning.

Options are good. And I love the style.

Hello Ladies:)

Cheryl did a great job of summing up our day yesterday. It was so much fun! I have been doing laundry and a little housework today as I am pretty tired from yesterday. It must be the driving (1.5 hours each way) and the humidity. We aren't used to that here. Anyway, Cristabel was surprised and so grateful. She was all smiles all day.:cutie: I think Heather had a very happy birthday based on what we heard and I know our dinner was fun. Of course the bottle of Magicale and perfect EP view added to the experience.;)

Cheryl, thanks again for brunch, it was so nice to just visit. And your friends welcomed me into the group like we were old pals. I appreciated that a lot.

DH has decided he wants fried chicken (actually I bake it using just a skeench of oil on the cookie sheet), so that's what we're doing. Have a night Sunday evening everyone.

I can't wait until I get my laptop this week!

To Amy, Stacie, Katie, Steph, Linda, Cheryl, Theresa, Beth, Melody, Dawn, Miss Sally and Sarah:

All I can say is thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU! That was THE best surprise ever!:grouphug: I really had no clue so Amy and Cheryl were amazing at keeping this great big wonderful secret from me this whole time.:worship: I'm not the emotional sort (I rarely cry..unless frustrated) but let me just tell you, I was so GIDDY! It felt like I was on cloud 9! I'm so blessed and I won't let any of you down. I'm going for the 4.0 :thumbsup2

We had a great time at DL and DCA. I didn't mind not riding much because I was just so happy and content being IN Disneyland with some of my great friends. I can't wait until the October meet so I can give you all great big humongous hugs!

I'm kinda tired today so I was glad I was able to sleep in until 10.
I'm getting kind of hungry so I think I'll be stopping by Chipotle before going to church this evening.
