TERRIFIC!!! Now we just need confirmation from Callie and her mom, Jane.

It's not looking good, Linda. :sad2:

Trying to keep it within a reasonable budget is just about impossible. My mom would be coming from Durango, Colorado and there are no deals to be had on flights.

Add me to the list of uber excited Divas! I know what you mean about the teams. Last year it was Me, Bree, Sarah & Trudi. We thought we had a really good chance of winning. I mean Bree was working at DL, and Sarah is really smart. We took NO breaks and hustled our hineys off. And we didn't even place. It was sad!:sad2:

Same with us Linda. My team was me, Beth, January, and Jen. We're all pretty competitive, smart, and know our Disneyland stuff. We ran around DL like maniacs during the scavenger hunt, thinking we were kickin' hiney.....and we also didn't even place. I was bummed! :sad1:

Oh, I totally will do it! You know I will! :smokin:::yes::
Awesome, I'll have my camera ready!! :thumbsup2

Hi girls!!
Hey girl! How're you feeling??

By the way, it looks like my chances of coming are good.
Best news I've heard in awhile. ::yes::

Hi friends--it's been a great day so far!
YAY for found earrings, visits with mom and getting all the ADRs you wanted. :wizard:

Beth... i was typing that while you posted so i hadn't read your post yet. So that post wasn't directed to you, I was just saying it in general. I know we are on the same page. Our posts got crossed. I'm typing slow.
Ahhh, got it. The joys of conversing via the internet. :rotfl: I didn't want you to think I was disagreeing with you, when in fact I was seconding everything you said. Deadlines are a must for smooth planning. :thumbsup2

Yay for the Scavenger Hunt and Meet-n-Greet!:yay:
Double yay!!! :yay: :yay:

I really like to win. Is that so bad? :rolleyes1
Sorry, but I'm going to win.

The b00by prize that is. :rotfl2:

Say it ain't so. :(

I haven't seen any airlines release deals for Feb yet.....only some deals through January. Hopefully some good airfares will be released soon, but probably not until the end of November or early December. You and your mom MUST come! :yay:

(The least expensive I could find for your mom right now is $326 round-trip on U.S. Airways, flying into SNA on Thurday and back out on Sunday.....didn't know how many nights you and your mom would stay, so I just took a guess.)

That's my roomie! Speaking of which, have you noticed that our other roomie hasn't posted lately! Hope she is ok...she needs to sign up for things!

I was just thinking about that Sarah. January needs to get her hiney over here and start signing up for stuff. I think I'll send her a little message on FB to make sure she hasn't forgotten about us. :rotfl:

If you can at all swing it, I would really recommend that you try to show up Thursday evening for the Meet and Greet. That is such a fun time and it would be a shame if you missed it.

I was really thinking the same thing. I was already nervous about meeting some of you last year, although that passed so quick after it happened :rotfl:
I'm definitely going to keep this in mind, I'd hate to miss that.

I have to be honest..the meet and greet is my favorite part of the trip.
I'm really looking forward to it this year.
The rides are fun, but they will always be there. Getting to spend time with friends that live far away..now that's special.

I sent a pm to her so hopefully between the two of us we can find her and get her over here!

The meet and greet and scavenger hunt were my 2 favorite parts of the trip last year! I really enjoyed the meals and the Walk in Walt's footsteps tour, but the other two things were just fabulous! So much fun to get to interact with all of the lovely ladies we have here on our thread!

FOR ANYONE WHO LIVES WHERE VIRGIN AMERICA FLYIES:
I got an alert email from Virgin America today. They have some great deals for late Feb/early March now. I can fly from SFO to LAX or SNA for $45 each way! :) Now I just need to confirm with dh how long I can stay (Sun or Mon).

Callie, I checked flights from SEA to SNA and they are $65 each way. Don't know if that is a good price or not.:confused3 But still wanted to pass on the info. I think where you are looking at high prices is your mom coming from CO, correct?

So - who is flying into SNA or LAX on Thursday?? I'd love to share airport transportation with people to cut down on that cost. Anybody already booked there flights?? If so, what time do you arrive at the airport?

First off.....can't remember who posted it, but yes, there may be a chance that there will be LPFs. So be prepared. ;)

I'm not exactly sure. lol Stacie explained it all to me and mentioned that they were more decorative than functional. Maybe use it in a keepsake box, or scrapbooking some how. :confused3 I guess it also depends on what sort of pillowcase you get. Some will probably be more functional than others. kwim?

Perhaps Stacie can comment on this part better as the pillowcase exchange is something she's done before.

Most of the pillowcases that I have seen done ended up being more decorative than functional. I have one that I have had forever, and use it as my traveling pillowcase. Depending on what type you get will determine what you can do with it.

Stacerita..The opening night party sounds like alot of fun! Thank You all for making it so special for us. I appreciate you all making it so special.

So.. if i'm getting it right and you know me i'm probably off on it..we get to decorate a pillow case to exchange with a friend, do we fill the pillow case with little treats? And then put in another gift bag? Or do we tie up the pillow case and use it as the bag? Is our limit 20 or 25 like the previous exchanges?

What you do is get a standard pillowcase. You can buy one already decorated or with a design on it, a plain one to decorate yourself, or if you are crafty, you can sew one.

The idea is to keep the pillowcase, decorative materials, and anything you put into it to $20 and under.

Like last year, we will be doing the "dirty santa" type game with the exchange. Everyone should wrap the pillowcase and treats up. It can be a gift bag, wrapping paper and box, or a grocery bag even. Then we "steal" based on the wrapping. Once everyone has a gift, we open to see the pillowcases that we recieved.

I would love for everyone to take pics of the pillowcases on their pillows back in the room and send them to me so I could post them up and use them in the trip report.

Does this make sense? If not, let me know and I will try to explain it another way.

Heather... we are organizing the teams thoughtful of people who move at different paces this year. The hunt is going to be alot different from last year, yet still alot of fun. As melody said if there is someone you want to be with on a team let us know.

We will be organizing the teams very soon and posting the teams so if any changes need to be made.

If I haven't said this yet, I want to thank you guys for the hard work you are putting into the scavenger hunt. I had so much fun last year and am looking forward to it again this year. By the way, who won last year? ;)

Beth... 20 dollar limit on the pillow cases..that sounds like alot of fun.
I'm already looking for ideas to decorate my pillow case and will talk to my mom about a theme for hers.

I love that people are getting into this. I so have mine planned. Just need to get with the follow through.

I'm a double negative. I'm competitive and a sore loser :lmao:
So to future scavvy hunt crew, I have a strategy to help us go through our list faster.

I really like to win. Is that so bad? :rolleyes1

I like to win too.

I have to be honest..the meet and greet is my favorite part of the trip.

I feel the same way. I live close enough that I can do the rides and stuff often. Its getting to spend time with everyone that makes this trip special for me.

Any other questions about the pillow case exchange or slumber party?

I like the sleep over idea but will prob have to wear sweats since we are staying at PP and I don't think walking or riding in a cab in my jammies would be right LOL. And I KNOW mom won't do it. In fact she doesn't wear sweats either so I don't know WHAT she will wear! In fact she is being kind of a fuddy duddy. She doesn't like black shirts OR skulls so she said she wasn't going to get the group tee! SHEESH! She is old and set in her ways. I told her to get over herself and that lots of people are making exceptions and doing things that wouldn't normally do for the "group" but she is VERY old fashioned and set in her ways so oh well! But at least she is coming. In fact we may skip one of the group meals as well because she really wants to go to Hook's Point for her birthday so we may do that instead of Ralph Brennan's but I will let you know Beth.

I am up for whatever though. I think it is all good and I am looking forward to everything! :)

I have a couple of solutions to this. First, please feel free to come over dressed in your regular clothes and then you can change in my room. I am staying at the Hojo so I will offer it up to anyone who wants to change here. I also know a few others who will be willing to offer their room to change in as well.

Another solution would be to just wear your clothes and bring a robe to put on when you get here. This time of year it will be a bit chilly, so you could go the way of the robe.

Or you can just wear your clothes and slip a night shirt/jammies over your clothes.

Hope these help.

Thanks Becci. I looked at Virgin earlier and the problem with their flights is (a) they leave at really bad times (6:30 am and SEA-TAC is 2 hours from my house) and (b)it's not a direct flight.

I found a great price on Jet Blue which flies direct to LGB, has great mid-day times, and is only a few dollars more. So if I do decide to come, I'll probably go JetBlue. :thumbsup2

I'm really having a hard time justifying the cost of the trip. I'm sure some of you think it's not bad because there are deals on flights and parkhoppers and even the ent. rate at the HoJo, it all still adds up and it'll be between $500-$700 for this trip for me (and that's keeping it bare bones budget), and between $700-900 for my mom. These days, that kind of money is hard to come up with. Also knowing that I then have taken that money from our family's vacation fund makes me feel even more guilty. :guilty:

Sorry, I just don't want you all to think that I don't want to come. I really do, but this is a really hard decision for me, since I had said from the get go, I would be skipping this year. Even if I don't go, I still hope you'll let me and Dan design the lanyards. I could at least feel a part of it that way. :goodvibes

Hey girl! How're you feeling??

Hi Beth! Thank you. I feel better. If my fever is still gone tomorrow late morning then it will be gone for a whole 24 hours and I can go back to work Thursday. I'm just coughing so much. I sound like a 70 year old smoker. :scared1:

I have to be honest..the meet and greet is my favorite part of the trip.
I'm really looking forward to it this year.

Me! I just bought my ticket today!! I get in to SNA around 8am, leaving Phoenix at 7:30am (time change). If anyone is getting in that early, or even within an hour or so, we can coordinate a shuttle to Hojo's.

If I haven't said this yet, I want to thank you guys for the hard work you are putting into the scavenger hunt. I had so much fun last year and am looking forward to it again this year. By the way, who won last year? ;)

I don't think they'll let us be on the same team this time :( Oh well, makes for better competition!! I'm challengin' you right now!! Are you up for it?? popcorn::

Hey Callie, don't feel bad. You need to do what you feel is right. Having said that - don't forget that you (as a mom) need a break occasionally. :) Believe me, I struggled with this. But I have come to realize my time away from the kids (and dh for that matter) makes me appreciate my life more. I don't know how you do it - homeschooling and everything.
I hate that so many of you are having $$ issues as well.:sad2: I certainly know that feeling! Thankfully we are actually doing much better than we were even a year ago - which is amazing in this economy.

Me! I just bought my ticket today!! I get in to SNA around 8am, leaving Phoenix at 7:30am (time change). If anyone is getting in that early, or even within an hour or so, we can coordinate a shuttle to Hojo's.

WOWZA! That is early! There is no way I would be able to get down there until at least noon! Anyone else bought there ticket yet??

I don't think they'll let us be on the same team this time :( Oh well, makes for better competition!! I'm challengin' you right now!! Are you up for it?? popcorn::

Wow! The smack talk is starting early!
