Girls Only~ OLD THREAD, new one linked in first post

Great news!!

And in other news roomies, I went to Kohl's and got 3 boxes of the Keurig coffees, 18 in each box, think that's enough?? There's Newman's Own, Caribou Coffee and Green Mountain, all caffeinated and medium roast; and only about $25!!

Yay for coffee!!!! :hyper:

Well hell, I certainly hope so. For what I'm paying I better get some pleasure out of it.

They'll probably charge extra...I'll do it for free. :thumbsup2

And now I want a taco, thank you very much.

You're welcome very much. :flower3:

Just spent the day down at the Pike Place Market in Seattle for my birthday. I love going down there and walkin around. One more week until Katie's sweet sixteen and then I can work totally on stuff for the trip. Now off to watch basketball.

:bday:
I was thinking that would be a good place for all of us PNW'ers to meet one of these days - I love to visit the original Starbucks and of course the Fish Market. Maybe we could have a meet this summer.

I am headed out to the mall and then meeting my co-workers at a hockey game; we got a row of tickets with some kind of marketing deal.

There is no crying on ToT, only b:eek:b grabbing. ;)
:lmao:

Sounds like a great group picture shot! :woohoo:

Well, count me in then!! :Pinkbounc:Pinkbounc

Okay, you're in!!!

Oh and tea cups =

:rotfl:

Uh, yeah. Spinning teacups are not my friend.

In case some of you don't follow on facebook, I wanted to let you all know that my mom's cancer has been identified as anal instead of rectal, and therefore she cannot have surgery on it. They will put her through both radiation and chemotherapy to treat it. The good news is that her PET scan showed that the cancer has not spread anywhere further than the small lump they have found on her bottom. So she will begin treatment next week, and it will go on for 7 weeks, then she has 4 weeks of healing before they do another PET test to see if they killed it. We are so thankful that they caught it early and that this will most likely be treated quickly and successfully.

Thanks for all your prayers! My mom loves knowing that all you women are praying for her. Someday I hope to bring her on one of the Diva trips so you all can meet her.

Callie

YAY for good news! I'll keep your mom in my prayers.

Well Infinity, I think you need to come to Vegas and put that name to good use. ;)

I would LOVE to.....but it won't be for the June trip. June is a BAD month for me......end of the school year, both my boys have birthdays, and on June 5th I'm supposed to take the WEST E exam for teacher licensure - UGH. Not looking forward to it. I just may have to study for this one. I don't think I'll be able to just walk in and pass it like I did when I took the WEST B exam.

But I am going on a Diva Vegas trip someday......ya know, to unwind, grab some cute dude hiney, and maybe get sloshed. Oh, and win the big progressive jackpot of course!!! :woohoo:

I meant to answer this last time...
I still don't know, but I should know next week. :thumbsup2

Hey Infinity, how you doin'? :cool2:

I really hope you can come. It wouldn't be the same without you!

Oh, and hey babe, I'm hangin'. How 'bout you's? :cool2:

Welcome home, Callie!:cutie:
Good news about your mom. I hope chemo and radiation aren't too hard on her. DH survived it like a true trooper, although I will say it kicked his hiney.

Infinity - we were just talking about you on the Diva Vegas thread and everyone agreed Deb should bring you along to spend some quality Diva Vegas time with us!;)

Happy Birthday Patty!:bday: I have only been to Pike's twice, but love that whole area.

Theresa, I love the teacups like an old lady, too. No additional spinning necessary, they move at a nice pace for me. I always get weird looks on that ride (when by myself), but I don't really care. And I love your melted butter tag. Taco's cousin (our waiter at Dick's) comment about me involved my ability to swallow a particular type of white liquid. Certainly not tagworthy. I'll just leave it at that. :rolleyes1

WendyLouWho - of course you are coming you silly girl! I think we are all on a budget and are picking and choosing which events/meals are most important. I know Bree never really posts on here (oh the shame, I know, I know) but she talks about how much she wants to meet the new divas and spend more time with you. You young whippersnappers need to stick together. :flower3:

I'm off to serve dinner, it's meatloaf with stouffer's mac n cheese with.....wait for it....my favorite....KFC cole slaw!!!! Man I am satisfied by the smallest things sometimes!

:bday:

I'd be up for it!

So I just broke one of our window shades. We have the cellular cordless ones which means that the cords are inside and you pull down on the actual blind to bring it down...well the cord inside decided to snap. Grrrr. So now we are going to have to take it down, send it back and wait forever to get the new one. I hope it is still under warranty! :scared1:

Anyway, just got back from the gym...have the house to myself for a little while dh is still at the gym with the kiddos. I am doing some laundry, getting caught up on line, etc.

Hope you all have a good weekend...I am working both days.

See, going to the dentist might not be that bad. How's he look???? :confused3

Yay for good deals on yummy coffee :woohoo:

I want photographic evidence if I'm not there

Silly Wendell - you WILL be there for sure, so you'll be in the picture too. You don't want to miss the b:eek:b grabbing good times on the TOT, right :rolleyes1

Sounds like a great group picture shot! :woohoo:

HECK YA!!!

Okay, you're in!!!

Good, you saw it too! No take backs!

Grab some cute dude hiney :scared1: Shocking, Capri! :upsidedow

That's how I like the Teacups too - yay for old lady Teacup riders  ..... and you must share what Taco's cousin's comment was! Inquiring minds want to know ;)

Yay for time alone!!! I'm working both days too....... Gotta pay to play, right ;)

It would definitely be "quality" Diva time if I was there. ;) :rotfl:

Seriously, I would love to come, but if I don't take the test on June 5th, the only other day I can take it is July 24th.....and if I take it on July 24th and I don't pass one of the sections, there may not be time to retake the section again and get the score back before the required deadline in September. See how all this puts a damper on having carefree Vegas Diva fun? :goodvibes

And I don't know where I would stay, or more importantly, where I could afford to stay. I'd be stayin' in the affordable (a.k.a. seedy) part of Vegas with all the other Infinitys and Okras in the area - LOL. Maybe I could make some good money though. Hmmmmmm.....:scratchin

And I'd probably come back with some crazy tat or piercing somewhere that I wouldn't remember getting. Oh wait, maybe that could be fun. :rolleyes1

LADIES.... We have less than 20 days until we're all together...

AWWWWWWWW.... :grouphug:

Free?? Did you say free?? Keep talking baby, keep talking. :rotfl:

Sounds nice. Are you going to post pics of the Sweet 16 party?? I have three DDs and could use some hints. LOL

I would LOVE and I mean love to hang with you here in Vegas. Seriously. That would rock!! :cool1:

Well dang. Then again if you wait and take it in July, you'll have more study time, there by ensuring you pass all the sections and don't have to worry about it. :rolleyes1
We can all help you study here in June in between grabbing cute dude hiney. :thumbsup2

Hi all! Figuring out what I'm going to do for a cool pillowcase! I'm getting so excited about this trip, even though I have to cut it short!
Right now I'm knee deep in girl scout cookie sales (oh, and I'll admit it, eating!) and job searching. No hits yet, but I keep looking! My bday is in a couple weeks, too!
Zoe and I are heading up to DL on next Friday, if any of you want to meet us. I'm hoping for an all day event.

Happy TGIF to you all!
Long week.......I'm so behind in reading....like 15 pages I think :( Is there anything earth shattering that I've missed that needs a reply ASAP? I will catch up this weekend, I hope.
*Week started out rough with Parker, we've tweaked meds & he seems to be turning around
*Steve's been crazy at work this week with all kinds of bizarre IT issues...and his dad has been really sick from his chemo, so he spent the evenings over there after work. Then he went to his Dad's oncology appt with him yesterday and they ended up admitting him for severe dehydration and weight loss. He'll be in the hospital thru the weekend at least, probably longer. Hoping they can get his stomach issues taken care of this time, so he can handle the chemo better.
*We had Parker's IEP addendum meeting yesterday...thats always stressful, but they are trying some new reading options for him, so we'll see how that trial goes.
*I've had 2 more dental appts this week....at least going so often lately has made it easier to handle the stress...heck I feel like family at their office now :)
Hope everybody else is doing well. We had rain all day today, which was nice!

Hi all, back from DLR and have horrible news. Somehow my cell phone got wet on Pirates. I didn't realize it until I got off the ride so I went to the pirate store outside of the ride and took apart my phone to see if the water had spread (which it did:sad2:) and somehow my sim card fell out :sad1: that has all my cell number, contacts, pictures and songs on it! I'm hoping some uber gung-ho CM or very nice guest found it and turned it in. I tried calling lost and found from Amy's hotel room but it closed at 6pm! So I'm going to see if I can use one of my roomie's cell phones to call tomorrow morning.

I don't even know how much it'll cost for a new sim card but I do not it's not cheap and getting a new cell phone is going to cost a lot too! :sad2:

I put my cell in a bag of rice, praying that it'll work. The lights on the keyboard light up but the screen is black.

Other than that I had a great time.

Cristabel, That is the pits.:sad2: I hope you get things worked out cheaply.

Good morning to all! :flower3:

Don't have much time to read back. I have a really busy day. Newphews and nieces visiting now along with my Sister. They will be here all day playing and whatever. Fixing dinner for them tonight, plus all of my children will be here too. Smoked turkey and ribs. Ha ha....how about that combo?

Everyone have a great day!:goodvibes

Good morning and happy Saturday!

Sounds like everyone had a good day yesterday.

Cristabel I am sorry about your phone and hope that you find your sim card!!! Will be thinking good thoughts for you!

Hope you and Amy had fun despite that, sounds like you did!

Jill I am sorry things have been stressful for you lately! Hope they start to get better!

Patty sounds like you had a good birthday! When I lived in Seattle I hated the weather but LOVED going to the city to wander around. LOVED Pike's market and old town. When mom came to visit we would eat at Anthony's all the time and I used to take her to the area over where the space needle was and ride the monorail which I know shut down, don't know if they reopened it or not (I moved away in 97). I loved that whole shopping are over there. I hope you had fun!

Capri I agree I think BOTH of us need to do a vegas trip but I can't do early June either. My kids don't get out of school until the 2nd week of June and it would be hard on Shane to try and get them to school etc. Summers are easier with school being out but hard because they ARE out of school which means they would have to go SOMEWHERE while shane is at work. And they have swim practice every day but as long as I wasn't gone TOO long I think he could deal. It's just tough cuz my parents go out of town on the weekends and Shane works and trying to get the girls looked after is my biggest concern. But I WANT to go someday so I am hoping I can make it happen!

Anyway I came home yesterday and watched hurt locker and zombieland and then went to Girl Scouts where basically the girls did a math activity to earn a badge and worked on more signs for cookie site sales which will start the end of feb/march. Then next Fri we are having an ice cream party/valentines party. They won the ice cream party at their spookarama event back at halloween and they are just now getting around to getting it. So at least THAT should be a fun meeting although I am still not thrilled about having to go again another friday in a row. Anyway then we just came home and watched the rest of zombieland which was gross but funny and Ghost Whisperer and then I hit the sack cuz I was falling asleep.

Now today we have the basketball game and I am going to watch post grad. That's bout it for us. It is raining and ugly again so not much on the agenda.

Hope everyone has a good day or at least does something fun at home like watch some movies or play some games or makes a fun day of it. :)

Take care and ttyl

Hey ladies~ Long time no post. Just checking in before I get too far behind (too late :rolleyes1).

Beth- Hope everything works itself out at the dentist. I SO need to go to the dentist, but I'm afraid of what it will cost so I've been avoiding :scared:.

Jill- :flower3: Sorry Parker is going through so much. You are a strong women & a great mom to him. I pray things get smoother for you.

Cristabel- I think it only cost about $10 to get a new SIM card & to acivate it. That's how much it cost with T-Mobile about 2 years ago. It sucks you lost all your stuff.

Callie- That's great news about your mom. She's in my prayers that the radiation treatment doesn't wear her out too much. Maui sounds fabulous. I so need to get away & that sounds like a nice place to go :cloud9:.

To all the wine drinkers- What is a good red wine that is a reasonable price. I'm not a wine drinker & I'm starting to buy the drinks for the Meet & Greet, but I'm stuck on what kind of wine to get. So if anyone could please help me out, I'd appreciate it (if not you will be getting some 2 buck chuck from Trader Joes ).

 Hi to everyone else. I REALLY can't wait to see you all soon. I need this get away more than you can imagine :guilty:.
