Girls Only~ OLD THREAD, new one linked in first post

Cavaliers fan in the house! LeBron James grew up less than 10 miles from me and went to the same private Catholic high school that my mom went to. So, we actually started going to his games when he was a sophomore in high school. By his senior year the high school was playing every game in a university arena and was selling more tickets than any of the college teams in Northeastern Ohio.

Oh, and I love me some Big Aristostle (Shaquille O'Neal for the uninitiated) so this season has been like a dream come true for me. In fact, one of my most cherished gifts this Christmas was a t-shirt that has Shaq and LeBron on it and says "The King's Witness Protection Program." I would NEVER wear it out of the house, but it brings a smile to my face every time I see it.

Beth - I love those pics of the DQ's! I can't wait to see their show in June. I am so glad you scored half off tix for us.:thumbsup2

DH just yelled something about the Colts going to the Superbowl. On a scale of 1-10 I would rate his football fan rating at about a 4. He's not that into it. He loves golf (he's really missing Tiger :sad2:) and of course we are Nascar fans, but not fanatics.

Callie - I am so sorry about your mom. Pixie dust and prayers for your family. Cancer sucks!

Capri - I hope your DS has a blast at the party.
Daisy - glad you are feeling better and that DH is such a sweetie.
Courtney - you crack me up girl - I can't wait to meet you.:cutie:

Add me to the list of Land's End swimsuit wearers. I rarely can wear anything "off the rack" if you will, and their suits fit me really well. But honestly, my bathing suit wearing days are pretty much behind me. I am sure the world at large is grateful for that.::yes::

Off to the grocery store, have a nice Sunday everyone!

Hey, you know what? I was just thinking about our family's last trip to DLR and Universal, and I just realized two really great things.

One: It was our first trip that we didn't rent a stroller for Luke, and he was fine without it! :yay:

Two: Usually we need to rent a wheel chair for Ryan because of his hypotonia, but the day we went to Universal, Justin and I didn't rent one (or even mention renting one) to see if Ryan would notice or ask for one.....and he didn't! He did fine that day! Now granted, there is a lot less walking at Universal compared to Disney, but let me tell you, Ryan going a whole day at a themepark without needing a wheelchair is a BIG deal. :woohoo:

Anyway, just a couple of thoughts that entered my mind just now that have absolutely nothing to do with our ladies trip, but I wanted to share them anyway. :goodvibes

Ryan is going to Laser Quest today for a birthday party - YAY!!! It's only the second birthday party he's ever been invited to that wasn't a cousins' party. I think the first time we was invited to a friend's birthday party was when he was in the first grade, so it's been awhile. He soooooooooo excited! Justin is taking him, and I know they're going to have a great time. Ryan and Justin love laser tag. :woohoo:

I'd tell you about my evening last night, but it was just weird and full of drama, so I'll spare you. You're welcome. :goodvibes

I love Laser Quest!! I hope he is having/had a great time!

Beth! Great pictures. I have a thing for drag queens. I just want to put more makeup on them. :confused3 :rotfl:

:rotfl2:

I love watching the Drag Queen show!

Donna - there is only one Canadian team in the NBA, the Toronto Raptors. There used to be two - Vancouver Grizzlies (now Memphis). Frank and Jesse were sad when they moved, but Vancouver is a hockey town, so they didn't do all that well here.

I love me some hockey!!

That is super dee duper!!

Afternoon all!

Amy you crack me up woman! I know it sounds like you are going but you sure better cuz you and I have the same kind of sense of humor and I sure loved laughing with you last year. You are a hoot!! :) And I guess I am the only fossil that is falling apart eh? ;)

Capri I am so glad for your son that he got invited to a party! I know how you feel. Shelby is my little social butterfly and is so popular and gets invited to EVERYTHING and poor Katy hardly gets invited to anything and I feel SO bad for her. In fact I wonder some times if she has emotional issues cuz she gets upset REALLY easily etc and she is really shy etc etc. But none the less she is always VERY helpful and I always get good things said about her from the teachers etc but I feel bad so like you when she DOES get invited somewhere I am so happy for her. That is too why I always want HER birthday to be special because it is on a holiday and a lot kids don't show up and she gets SO upset. I am glad that Luke had a good day and was excited. And Hey don't ever worry about sharing stuff that went on. I know I do it way too much but I feel like you guys are my friends and I have a serious lack of those IRL and if I can't get stuff off my chest I feel like I am going to explode. You can always pm ME if you want. I am always here with a willing ear! ((hugs))

As for sports Shane is a HUGE sports fan. Mostly football but he will watch just about ANYTHING. He also is a big nascar fan but he played the big 4 in HS and I have to put up with it being on tv all the time. I much prefer to watch sports in person.

Anywho I haven't hardly moved off the couch today. Just haven't been feeling that hot and since I haven't been getting much sleep I am tired a lot. Did a few loads of laundry but otherwise that's bout it. Shane even was nice enough to run to winco for me so I didn't have to go out in the weather. I am sure that didn't help either. It has been rainy and ugly for weeks now!

I do like this weather but it gets old after a time. I am def ready for some sun and to feel motivated and good again so I can get up and move around!! I haven't been doing well on my dieting at ALL this time. I have been cutting back and eating better but I just haven't felt that great so haven't been able to work out as much as I would like so that really has made a difference. I will lose a pound or two and then gain it RIGHt back a few days later. SO frustrating! Hopefully I can get out of this funk soon and get back on track!

Anywho I hope you all have a great rest of your day and talk soon! :)

Sports talk just leaves me like this.....

Hope you all had a good weekend!!! I cannot believe it's almost over. :sad2:

HI Ladies!

Went to the old page, trying to catch up. Noticed the thread was locked, and I couldn't post. Was wondering what in the world was wrong. :rolleyes1
Ah ha!!! A new thread was started.

Geesh................I can't catch up.

Callie, I did read enough to see about your Mom. I will certainly keep Jane in my prayers.

Had a fun time with Linda and Cheryl. It was cold most of the time like Cheryl said. We only did one ride. Ha ha. That was my clue for now. :rolleyes1

Sorry, more to follow, but not quite yet.

Be ye patient me hearties!!! pirate:

So in October when we were at DL we added more points to our timeshare and that added RCI to us. We were checking out the RCI website today and found out that these Disney Resorts were included....BCV, Board walk villas, AKL, WLV, Saratoga, OKW, Bonnet Creek, BLT and another one I can't remember.
In signing up for more points we also got a free but $250 in resort fee's.
So we are leaning toward AKV, WLV or Beach Club Villas. 7 days for $250? Who would say no?? Then maybe stay at POP for a few days, to make it a 10 day stay at WDW.

When are you going?? We are going in November (over Thanksgiving) and staying at the BC. Of the ones you listed I would do BCV because it has the best location - you can walk to Epcot! :thumbsup2

We haven't decided yet, the only thing with the free wk is that we can't go over a holiday. Maybe the third wk in December.

Cool! You can't beat a free week!

In October my parents bought into the Wyndham Vacation Club. (If I would have known they were going to do this I would have convinced them to buy into DVC instead, but that's another story . . . )
Do you know if they can use their "points" to stay at DVC properties?

The weekend is ending so quickly :sad2: I still have to pack tonight because I'm leaving for school tomorrow at noon. I wish I had more days to spend with my parents. Thankfully I have no school Friday so I'm coming home because my parents are going to invite our church family for a slides how of their trip photos and my cousin is turning 20 years old on Saturday.

I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their night.

$250 to stay for 7 days at BCV or AKV, is a great deal. Now if we can add the dining package that would be even better.

I want to buy DVC, but with RCI, Worldmark, we have it forever. We can can give it to the kids.

hmmm...I am not sure about Wyndham. There are a few resorts we can use that are belong to Wyndham. You will need to go to there website and look at the resorts.

Congrats Deb!
I would pick either AKV (where I own) or BC. WLV is a lot like The Grand at DL. We are going in early Oct for 8 nights. I can't wait! Let us know when you decide on your dates.:)

Hi Mel :wave2: Glad you are home safe and sound.

Very nice! We stayed at Wilderness Lodge the last time we were in the World, and we loved it! I bet it would be beautiful at Christmas!!!

So true. Great location, and don't they have the little water park there?

It's just about bedtime around here. Good night, girlies!

Deb, that' fantastic! I don't think you can go wrong with any of those resorts. I can only dream of 10 days at WDW. I was thinking yesterday, that I should plan a trip in 2015. That seems so far away, but the boys will be 7 and 8 and our little girl will be 5. I see princess dresses and BBB in my future! :goodvibes

Oh, and I'm with you on DVC not being forever. I don't really understand why they did it that way. I know you can still get your money's worth over the years, but it just seems odd to me. I'm sure they have their reasons.

Today is going to be Nathan's birthday party at school. Nolan's is next Monday. It should be fun for him. My babies are growing up.

Oh, and did anyone notice that the Saints won yesterday? DH is over the moon. I didn't even get a hello when I came home from work last night. It sounds like it was a great game though.

1. We can only stay that long because of the timeshare, hotel would be so expensive. We eat breakfast and most dinners at the room.

2. YES, I SAW THE SAINTS WIN!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't believe how many times Adrian Peterson fumbled the darn ball!!

Birthday parties at school is so fun!

Linda~ When I was looking at AKV, I think that is where we are going to stay. Spend a day or two just hanging out at the pool.
I want to try Boma, but I am not sure the boys would like it.

Oh Deb how fun!! I LOVE planning a DW trip! The last one we took was over Thanksgiving of 08 but they had a lot of their Christmas up cuz we stayed through till the first week of Dec! It is weird though cuz you know how DL pretty much puts EVERYTHING up here right after Halloween? Well there they don't really do it till after thanksgiving. They do put SOME stuff but not EVERYTHING. But it was still really neat and we LOVED seeing it during the holidays. The only resort we have ever stayed on property was the contemporary and Pop. I didn't like pop at all because the beds were doubles and it was REALLY dinky rooms. If I had to stay in a lower place I would go for the medium levels like Port Orleans or something. My mom owns RCI and we stayed in the Sheraton Vistana in 05 and the Orange Lake in 08. Both were REALLY nice and now that you can exchange with Disney I am SO excited!

We are wanting to go this year but only for a few days so doubt we will use the timeshare but I am excited at the prospect of being able to stay on property again!!

I think you will love either AKL OR BC! Both are REALLY nice!! :) You will have a blast either way!! :)

Mel glad you guys had fun and can't wait to see what you guys have dreamed up for us!

Hey 1 month from today everyone!!!! I am so excited!!

It is raining yet AGAIN here today BOOOO! I am SO ready for some sun! I sure hope the weather stops by the time our trip comes round!!!

At least there is some fun stuff coming up to keep us occupied between now and the trip!

There is superbowl in 2 weeks and then the week after that is Valentines/our anniversary and we don't plan on doing anything huge but we are going to go out to dinner and a movie. Probably see that movie valentines day :) Then the very next day the girls start their week break and I am hoping to take them to the zoo maybe one day and maybe to a movie. We usually try to do some fun stuff on their break but it all depends on the weather and our finances at that point.

Plus we leave the very next Thur so can't do TOO much. But this is exciting. Not too much longer now!!! Yay!

I have to go in to work today which sucks cuz my head, neck and back were killing me all day yesterday and I even went to bed at 8 but didn't sleep well but so be it. Must be done! And I hate going out in this yucky weather but oh well. Not much on the agenda for this week other than the accountant is coming back to help me with the quick books again on friday and hopefully mom and I will get our shirts done sometime this week. We need to work on our pillow cases too!!!

That's bout it for me. I hope everyone has a good day and stays safe and dry wherever you are! :)
