Girls Only~ OLD THREAD, new one linked in first post

I have the ultimate in granny panties right now...the maternity granny panties! I think they can be used as reserve parachutes once the pregnancy is over. :lmao:

I'm feeling a little better this morning! I hope I'm even better tomorrow for work. Yay!

The boys are having their valentines day party at school today. We made our valentines last night. Nathan is very excited because they have crunch bars in them, and he thinks they are all for him! Poor him when he realizes he has to share. :rolleyes1

Maternity undies....what a great invention! One great reason to get knocked up! I always cried when it was time for them to go. They were so roomie and nice. They just kept giving and giving and giving!

Happy Wednesday (aka one day closer to our trip!!!!)!!!!!

I think everyone wants to have their undies on hand BEFORE the trip. :rolleyes1

I'll probably start packing Wednesday night :lmao:I don't have much clothes so I'm going to wait until the last minute to do my laundry. Perhaps by then I'll be fitting into the jeans I have at home which means more laundry but I don't have to do it as frequently :thumbsup2

:lmao: Ok ok.

Ahh! I can't pack a night before. I need a list and everything. Maybe next week I'll start.

You wear yours on your hand??

:p

:rotfl: I think she does!!!

I'm glad you're feeling better today!

Good morning and happy Wednesday/hump day!

Oh lord I go away over night and come back to Choney's talk. EEK!

Speaking of that I was just telling Shane I need to get new one's myself. I am starting to feel like a guy with my old ratty, elastic shot, starting to get holey ones. I am VERY thrifty and use most of my stuff till it is literally falling off LOL. I have pairs of shoes and pants and shirts that I have had for 10 or 15 years LOL. The only reason I don't wear some things is not cuz it is no good but because it may not fit any more LOL. But I have to go get the girls V-day cards today so I may just pick me up some nice new undies for the trip as well :)

As far as Sunday it also is our anniversary. It is bitter sweet for me because of everything that has transpired over the last few months but even though I still have mixed emtions and for "me" I have not really changed the way I feel about the situation I know Shane thinks things are better than they are. Honestly I am just trying to get along for the girls sake and we are back to mostly just being friends and we are getting along fine now but I am sure he thinks it is better than it is. Unlike him I can't just "let things go" like he can. It still eats at me in the back of my head but as I said when this stuff all went down my girls are my MAIN concern and I am in this for the long haul for THEIR sake and it IS better than it was so I am ok with that. But anyway I told him we didn't really have to celebrate this year based on everything that happened but he is insisting and so I told him it would be nice if we could just go have dinner and see a movie since we NEVER get to go anywhere alone anymore. Since Lynn moved out we have no one to babysit anymore and we haven't gone out alone in prob a year. I just suggested seeing valentine's day and maybe going to Olive Garden or something inexpensive but he told me he wants to go to melting pot. I of course don't want him to spend the money but he is insisiting. I won't spoil it for him but of course in the back of my mind I am cringing cuz I don't want him to put more money on our card but I have to let him do his thing. But that is our plans I guess is to go see the movie and go there. Don't get me wrong I LOVE that place and we haven't been since my birthay a few years ago but it is SO flippin expensive. I just hope I can enjoy it and not worry about what it is costing!!! I also told him NOT to get me anything but he usually ALWAYS does so it will be interesting to see what he does. He has gotten me a couple diamond necklaces in the past (nothing huge but still pretty) and some diamond earrings. He got me an I touch and one of those digital photo frames so I will be very curious what he does. As far as the girls are concerned I usually just get them a card and one of those cheapie little heart shaped box of chocolates but this year mom and I were shopping for trip stuff at target and they had a bunch of cute stuff on that dollar rack so I got them some stuff from there. They will be spending the day with grandma and grandpa while we are on our "date". :)

Back to the trip I know mom and I REALLY want to try the cove bar and are up for it whatever night people chose to go. We have never been and want to try it. Even though I don't drink I might make an exception or at least have a virgin something and would LOVE to try one of the appies. YUM! :)

Anywho hopefully I didn't miss anything but I am off to work here in a few. I got all the corp taxes done yesterday! WHEW! It took me all day cuz after I got them done there was a glitch like there is EVERY stupid year and I spent like 3 hours trying to find it and never could so I said to heck with it. But at least they are done. And now today I am meeting with our new CPA again today for more training on Quickbooks. And as I said I need to run to Walmart to get the girls their valentines cards for Friday and can't forget those undies!! ;)

Hope everyone has a GREAT day and talk soon!

Good morning!
Heather~I'm glad you're feeling better!!!!
I'm off to cook for my princess today. Have a great Wednesday, friends!

/
Becci leaves Sunday and I leave Monday so I will have 1 empty bed.

Okay so if I'm thinking clearly, it will just be you in the room on Sunday night. In our room, it will be just Callie and I. Wanna shack up with us for 1 night?? We have the $79 room, Disney premium view, so it would be $30.29 each, with the 15% tax included.

Good morning Divas. :cool1:

I need to do school work today, but I'm procrastinating. BLAH! :headache:

Steph - I have a week break from school during the week of the ladies trip, so I will be able to just relax and enjoy myself while I'm there.....I'm grateful for that. Did I mention I was burned out? :crazy2: :rolleyes1

Heather - I'm so glad you're feeling better.

Wendy - Please come on the trip. C'mon....please? :flower3:

January - I'll miss you sweetie! :sad1:

No new undies for me.....no need to try to impress Aunt FLO, who will most likely be accompanying me on the trip. She's so rude.....just inviting herself on our trip like that!

Speaking of the trip, my poor mom keeps telling me how she wishes she could come.....although, even if she could come (which she can't), I'm not sure what I would think of that. She's not really the Disney/girlie type. It would be like having Auroa (from Terms of Endearment) there.....yeah, a little scary yet perhaps entertaining if you have the right sense of humor. :goodvibes

I think she just wants a break from taking care of dad. I'm sure she just wants to have some fun without having any responsibilities for a few days. I feel bad for her.

And speaking of my dad, here's the only news we have so far: He has an abdominal aortic aneurysm. They would like to do a scan of the aneurysm, but needed to test his kidney function first. The tests came back and shows that his kidneys are only funtioning at 29%.....not good. And so the focus of the doctor shifts to his kindney function. Weeeeeeeeeeee, isn't this a fun ride? :dance3:

We don't have anything planned for Valentines Day. No cards, no movies, just staying home and, I don't know, maybe doing laundry and of course no day would be complete without doing a boat load of school work.

Happy Thursday all -

I leave for WDW tomorrow! Mr. CA will be taking the red-eye and arrive Friday morning. My parents will go to Daytona after having lunch with us on Friday - we'll have their condo to ourselves for the weekend...:cool1:

I'm sort of packed but I'll get it together before 6:30am tomorrow morning!

I am in desperate need of a hair cut and color so I broke down and made an appointment locally for this afternoon because there is no way I can fit a trip to Denver anytime soon into my schedule to have my sister do it. I love the way my sister colors my hair so wish me luck!

I finally made a dinner reservation for Valentine's Day at the Flying Fish...not the most romantic resturant but I've like their food in the past and we can hang out at EPCOT until dinner.

I'll check in while I'm gone with my new Blackberry...I haven't tried getting on Disboards with it but I did test FB so I'll check in somewhere.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week and by the time I get back it'll only be a week until the ladies trip! Feb. is just flying by...I have to go to Dallas the Tues. and Wed. before the trip and work on Thurs. morning so I'll see you all at the Meet and Greet...exhausted but happy and excited to see you all!:goodvibes

Good afternoon!
I have no specific plans for Valentine's day except go to church. I'm probably going to see The Wolfman on Saturday night with my cousin and his gf, we'll see if it goes through. My cousin is such a flake so I'm not really counting on us actually going, sad but true. I wanted to see the movie with my dad originally so we'll see if he wants to go.

I am so jealous of everyone whose kids get to have a Valentine's Day party at school. Ty's school is not acknowledging the holiday officially but we are allowed to take cards in for all the kids. However, there is NO candy allowed due to food allergies. So, we got Cars valentine's for the boys in his class that came with tattoos and Tinkerbell with stickers for the girls. But, I miss the days of conversation hearts, pixie sticks and of course reese cups :sad1:

In other news the budget "stuff" is continuing to hit the fan. Right now it looks like we will be at a 6% pay cut for next year. While that's not great news we were already slated for 4.6% that I actually started taking early (I took an option that allowed me to do a 2.3% cut for 2 years instead of 4.6% for one year). And, as recently as last week there was talk of either a 20% pay cut OR 6 unpaid days off each month, which works out to a 28.2% salary reduction. So, in the grand scheme of things, I'm feeling okay.

Meanwhile, it looked like I might be headed to St. Louis tonight with a group of students to attend a conference. The woman that I supervise (and who is the official chaperone of the trip) got the stomach flu yesterday while we were at her birthday lunch celebration. She is still pretty sick, but I think that I have figured out ways to have our graduate assistant serve as the trip leader. It requires some slight "misuse" of my university credit card, but I think that I am in a do now and beg forgiveness later situation and my supervisor seems to agree--THANK GOODNESS!

Anyhow, it feels like I'm not around here much lately, but I am thinking of all of you and looking forward to the trip :lovestruc

Vicki, have a wonderful trip!

Jane, I'm glad the budget cuts are workable for you. How scary though. :scared1: Nathan and Nolan go to a private christian preschool on M & W. They are the school that does all the parties, and celebrates birthdays. The public school does not celebrate anything! So, I'm going to enjoy the parties while I can. :)

Cristabel, I hope you find someone to hang with on Sunday. Going to a movie sounds like fun!

Capri, I hope your Dad's doctor is able to get him the help he needs. I will continue to pray for him.

Nathan had a rough day as I feared he would. Parties are not fun when you're insistent on routine. He did enjoy a lollipop on the way home though! :upsidedow

Everyone else ...

Vicki, have a wonderful time at WDW!!!!

Okay, so my Mom just called me right now to let me know she got us tickets for the filming of the Bonnie Hunt Show on Thursday (February 25th). The filming is at 2pm and is in Culver City. SO, we're going to that pretty much that whole afternoon and will be in Anaheim after. We should be back just in time to unpack and go to the meet and greet. Anyways, she's sooooo excited! She called me screaming. She's nuts.

So, since the filming starts at 2 and let's say it take about an hour to two? I Mapquested Culver City to Anaheim and it's about 40 minutes. Let's say we get to Anaheim at 5:00. The M&G starts at 6:30. Should we get my Mom a ticket for that day at DL? Looking at all this, it doesn't look like we'll make it to the park that day... She was going to get a 3 day PH since we're leaving Sunday morning, but now she may only need a 2 day. What do you girls think?

I think 2 day would be fine (plus you can get the 2-fer park hopper). :)

Thanks for the prayers for my daddy.

My kids are lucky I guess. We're in a school district that still has parties for everything and allows all the goodies too. :thumbsup2

There is no school on Friday or next Monday, so the class Valentine parties will be tomorrow. Hopefully Ryan will be well enough to go to school tomorrow so he doesn't miss the party.

Also, I just wanted to say that when Ryan was Nathan's age, he also hated change. He had a difficult time adjusting to anything that was different from his ordinary routine, whether at home or school. But as he got older, he grew out of that. Now he likes change to get out of a boring routine. Kind of funny when I think about it. :goodvibes

Honestly, back then, I didn't think he'd ever grow out of behaviors like that. No one told me it was possible and happened quite often, so I just assumed he would always have a hard time adjusting to change.....that it was part of being autistic. But, luckily, as he grows up, many of his autistic behaviors and characteristic seem to fade away. For awhile there, it seemed when one faded, a new one would pop up in it's place. But he's been making steady progress for a couple years now with no new problems at all. I hope it stays like that as he enters puberty. He'll be 11 this June....officially a Tween. :scared:

Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that because Nathan will probably outgrow some of those tendencies too.

I would say probably not. I don't even think the park is open too late on Thursday night, maybe 8pm.

Courtney, get your mom the 2fer and then you can upgrade to a parkhopper. That way you get a 2 day parkhopper for the price of a one day parkhopper!:thumbsup2

Hi everyone!

I read back but didn't multiquote because I'm just being a rebel today. :smokin:

Actually I'm just tired. Kept the van and spent the whole day out running errands, and now need to go pick up Ruben from work in a little while.

TTYL :)
