Thanks for the prayers for my daddy.
My kids are lucky I guess. We're in a school district that still has parties for everything and allows all the goodies too.
There is no school on Friday or next Monday, so the class Valentine parties will be tomorrow. Hopefully Ryan will be well enough to go to school tomorrow so he doesn't miss the party.
Also, I just wanted to say that when Ryan was Nathan's age, he also hated change. He had a difficult time adjusting to anything that was different from his ordinary routine, whether at home or school. But as he got older, he grew out of that. Now he likes change to get out of a boring routine. Kind of funny when I think about it.
Honestly, back then, I didn't think he'd ever grow out of behaviors like that. No one told me it was possible and happened quite often, so I just assumed he would always have a hard time adjusting to change.....that it was part of being autistic. But, luckily, as he grows up, many of his autistic behaviors and characteristic seem to fade away. For awhile there, it seemed when one faded, a new one would pop up in it's place. But he's been making steady progress for a couple years now with no new problems at all. I hope it stays like that as he enters puberty. He'll be 11 this June....officially a Tween.
Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that because Nathan will probably outgrow some of those tendencies too.![]()
Thanks for that Capri! I bet he will grow out of it like you say. He has come so far already. I know what you mean about solving one problem and coming up with another. It seems as he grows and learns, new things crop up. Especially things that weren't possible before like once he learned to talk then we had to battle echolalia. I'm hoping it eventually evens out like you say. Thanks for the support!

Courtney! That sounds like fun, and it sounds like your Mom is excited. Are you sure the taping is only 1-2 hours? I don't know about that show, but I've heard from friends that they were sometimes shocked by how long it took things to get done. Anyway, I don't know much about it, but I know that you'll have fun!
