Girls Only Disneyland Trip - Old Thread

Hey all!

I have been thinking about the trip, and I am happy with everything that I have planned except for one thing. I really wish I was eating at Blue Bayou. To me it's such a unique thing to DLR that how can I visit without seeing it!

I was thinking that maybe I could squeeze in a desert only seating just to experience the place. What do you all think? When would be a good time to do this? Sunday night? Monday noon? I just don't want to leave with any regrets.

I'm also thinking that as a first timer, I shouldn't have done the VIP tour. I thought the purpose of the tour was to see all kinds of rides and things with the help of your guide, and learn inside things about them. That really interests me, but now I'm hearing stories about how on the VIP tour last time, they only rode 2 rides, and spent the rest of the time walking around. Now if I was doing it at WDW, that would be great, but as a first timer to DLR, it's not really what I'm looking for. I guess in essence I'm regretting doing the VIP and not BB. What do you all think? I hate to even say this, and I don't want Tracey to take it wrong as she is planning an awesome tour, I just don't think it's want I want. *sigh*

Oh, don't worry Heather. I don't know what the tour will be, as I think they like it to be sort of surprising and magical, ya know? Everyone that has gone has loved it. I absolutely want to go on some rides with all of you too. The way I figure it is some can ride, some can chat and ask questions, etc. With the amount of time we have we should have a wonderful time.

Heather, I don't blame you for feeling the way you do. After all it's your first trip to DLR and you're worried about wasting 6 hours on a tour. It's not just 2 hours, it's 6! That's a lot of park time.

If you really want to squeeze in BB, what do you think about just grabbing some dessert after the DVC tour on Friday night? The park is open until midnight, and I bet they would still be serving dessert at least until 10 pm, if not later.

I've never had a cookie boat, and would love to join you.

Are we going to get a tentative itinerary for the tour, or just be surprised the day of?? I would not mind doing a couple of rides too (IASW ) ToT (maybe - but cool group pictures....).

I think all we can do is tell them what we hope for and then be surprised.

Isn't there a lunch on the tour?
Where are we doing lunch?
I think they take that time into the tour, so it's not 6 hours of walking.
It's touring, a ride then lunch another ride touring then getting settled for a parade.

All that said by me who knows nothing about the tour.

I don't really know anything about either of the tours.

On the walt's tour.. don't we need to select lunch?
What are the choices?

Sorry if I am asking alot of questions that have been answered. I may have missed the answers if they've been posted.

I would Love if our VIP guide could also get us on PeterPan.. that's my most favorite ride.

The VIP tour does not have a scheduled lunch. I think we had discussed getting something on the run so as not to cut into our precious time that we paid big bucks for. I am planing on eating a corndog, tinkerbell twist, and soft pretzel. (Not that I've thought about it much! )

I like your menu! Which pretzel? I've heard the cream cheese one is great!

Ooohh I just made the bestest dinner.. i butterflied shrimp, then put a slice of fresh crisp jalepeno down the center with a square of white cheese..then wrapped it in bacon.. and drizzled it with crushed garlic soaked in lime and fresh orange juice with olive oil.. and served it over rice ... it was soooo good!

It's for the one I talked about on the DisDivas thread--we give scholarships to single Moms who have gone back to college--and once a year we send all them to Disneyland with their kids for the day--and we start out with a yummy buffet breakfast at Club 33. I'm the Philanthropy chair so I HAVE to go, right?

I just think it's weird that she didn't say something to the effect that she was going to be busy the rest of the day, and tell us to have a nice day and evening, ect. It's just not like her.

I hope the music is working though. The one and only time I rode Screamin' (during last years ladies trip) the music wasn't working.

I love Rock-n-Rollercoaster at DHS! The music makes the ride.

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one wanting to do rides. Now I am a ride weenie, and so know that I might sit out a few because of that. I do love inside info (I've read books with the indside story to DLR.), but I don't want it to be just 6 hours of walking and talking. KWIM? Thanks guys for making me feel better. You all are the greatest! Any of you all want to do a desert seating at BB after the DVC tour?

There WILL be rides and much fun to be had on the VIP. I can't imagine spending 6 hours in the parks and only riding 2 things. Please don't worry Heather... we are going to have an amazing time and you are going to be a great intro to the magic of DLR!

Please add me to the BB list for dessert... I love the cookie boat and the creme brulee!

And, you have to laugh at this: tonight Dave asked me why I wasn't going to BB for dessert at some point during the trip, and I told him that the BB lunch was during the VIP tour so I wasn't going.... little did I know what you were cooking up while I was in meetings all day! I'm beginning to think that winnietheboy may be lurking on our thread!

We could have some tropical drinks at the bar at Disneyland Hotel and play with those remote control ships.

Sorry I'm not multiquoting here...I'm sort of meandering through the posts tonight, not reading from start to finish.

I really want to try Screamin'. I've never been on it and I'm kind of scared. Definitely don't want to do it with a belly full of drinks. I got myself all psyched to do it the morning after I did the Segway tour last year, and it was closed. And I never did try again. Maybe I will venture and try it this time. I'm a wimp when it comes to roller coasters.

I am sorta scared of SCreamin myself, but I do go on it from time to time. I like to get as close to the front as I can. Not as bad up there. But do not sit in the front. You get bugs in your teeth that way.

Any Lost watchers on here? Wow I just watched it and WHOA! It was a GREAT episode! I can't believe that not only Jin is still alive but he went back in time and met up with Rosseau! WOW! Great one tonight for the fellow Lost lovers! I am up later than usual cuz I have my surgery in the a.m. and I am trying to force myself to stay up till 11 so I can eat something one last time so I have something in my stomach. I usually eat dinner at 5 and then nothing else till the next day but since I can't eat after midnight I though it might be a good idea to eat closer to the time that I have to STOP eating if that makes sense so it is less time that I have to go without eating so hopefully I won't be AS hungry in the morning. They also moved my surgery back. It will be hard too not even being able to have any water. I think I could do without the food but I drink a LOT of water.

AT least they told me I could take my medicine. I have had to be off all aspirin or any type of blood thinning type meds for 10 days which means I can't take any of my normal pain killers and of COURSE I got a migraine yesterday and could not take anything but tylenol which did NOTHING. So I just tried ice packs and cold cloths etc but it was a LONG night last night to say the least. So today I went and bought some icy hot for my sore muscles that I usually get along with and it is actually helping a bit.

I will just be glad when this is done!!

Anyway I don't know how I am going to feel after this so may not be on for a day or so. Don't talk too much or I won't be able to catch up
