Girls Only Disneyland Trip - Old Thread

My mom has discovered that she loves going on cruises.. She gets very motion sick, and does okay with them. She is pushing us to go on one with her.. Mmmm... Not gonna happen anytime soon! Her last one was one of those really long ones from Venice through Greece and Turkey. She said it was to much, and everything kinda ran together. In May she is going to... ummm.. I dont know. Mexico? The Bahamas? Both? I wasnt really listening. She just kept saying how much fun my kids would have on it. Feel free then mom! Take em.

Alaska WOULD be lovely. Thats where we want to go. Its also the easiest for us, since we can just take a ship out of Seattle and not have to pay for a flight r anything.

I absolutely abhor Dole Whips (I think that they taste like melted plastic to quote one of the other ladies who is joining us for the trip). But, I would be happy to raise a pineapple spear or glass of pineapple juice to Bawb.

The only challenge I see to Friday is the VIP tour. But, if we are in the vicinity of Adventureland at the agreed upon time, I will be there!

LOL Better yet, leave the kids with hubby and tell her to take you!! That's good to know she does ok on them. I'd imagine nowadays they have all sorts of meds for sea sickness too.

I'm so jealous you could take a cruise without paying airfare. Even getting a good deal still adds so much to any vacation.

Ok, a pineapple spear or juice would work. What time is the tour over? Then again, you probably don't want to eat/drink so close to time for dinner.....
Hmmm, maybe Sunday would be better?
Shoot, I don't know. LOL I can do it either day. Maybe like you said it can be worked into the tour, like if you all are in the area already, going on IJ or JC?

OK, so here's your mission for the day ladies!! I'm going to make a CD for our pizza party. Can't have a party without music!!

So what I'd like each of you to do is pick a song that you'd like to have on the CD. Whatever you want. Doesn't have to be Disney. Think party music, fun, upbeat, etc.
I'll make a list, compile all the songs and then burn a CD for us to play that night. Sound good?



I've got to go get ready for my dentist appt. Getting my stitches out today. I hope it goes ok. Everytime I go to the dentist I get more bad news so we'll see what he tells me today.

I hope when I get back I'll see a long list of songs.............

Good morning ladies,

I got the boys off to school this morning. It's was Luke's turn to bring snack for his kindergarten class.....it's supposed to be a somewhat healthy snack, but hubby got Oreo cookie packs. I'm sure his teacher will be THRILLED to have 20 kids like this today.

Ryan, my nine year old, is in the third grade, and his teachers (his regular third grade teacher and his resource room teacher) are trying to get him ready to take the third grade state math exam (called the WASL). Anyway, he came home yesterday with a math quiz he did in class. It was only 5 problems, adding 4 digit numbers together (like 3764 + 4529). He got 100% on his quiz, so I went in his room to tell him what a great job he did and that I was so proud of him. He responded, "Yeah mom, I'm getting smarter now. I'm not autistic anymore."

Poor guy, he's getting more aware and self conscious (and maybe embarrassed) of being autistic.

Okay, enough of my kid stories.

When is everyone getting in on Thursday? I can't decide on a flight......I could get in early, like 11:10am, and spend the afternoon in the parks with someone......or I could fly in later around 3:15pm, which would save me a little money because then my hubby could drive me to the airport and I wouldn't have to leave a car in the parking garage for four days.

Hmmmmm, do I want to save $36 on parking, or do I want to spend the afternoon in Disneyland with some of the ladies (if there are going to be any available)?

Money is extremely TIGHT.....but fun is, well, FUN. Crap.

Well, at least I won't be the only lady not doing the tote exchange. Whew!

Hey Capri, Heather and I are flying into OC at 11:25am on Thursday, Tina & her mom around noon, so I think we're going to Super Shuttle it to HoJo's. Heather & I are doing Ariel's at 2pm on Thursday so hopefully the flight isn't late and the SS is fast!!

I am looking at Thursday flights...I will get there around 10am or 8pm. I am not sure which one I want to take. I will have to take 2 days without pay if I come in early Thurs. I will only take 1 day without pay if I come in later that night. What to do, what to do.

Money is VERY tight here. I need a break from my life. What is all the hard work without having a little fun? That was the argument I used to convince DH to let me go.

I think around a dozen of us are having lunch at Ariel's at 2 on Thursday and then I plan to spend a few hours in the park before the pizza party that night. So, I think that you will have plenty of playmates if you choose the earlier flight. But, if you are anything like me, I hate driving at the airport--everyone there acts like they have never driven before, so I would probably opt for having my DH drop me off. And, $36 buys lots (or at least a few) DLR snacks!

OK, well, I hope we get a decent sized group willing to do this. I'm hoping for at least 10 ladies. So maybe some others will post when or if they'd like to do it.

I'm flexible too--if I'm on the VIP tour (I'm currently signed/paid, but offered my spot to Audra in case her Mom wants to go) I think it should be do-able to get the VIP group to meet at the Tiki Room at a certain time with everyone else.

I was going to mention making a CD! You are on fire lady! I am not sure you have stacked your plate high enough.

I still listen to my CD's from the 1st WDW ladies trip. That was a really neat idea!

I have hundreds of Disney Songs...I have some CD's that are almost impossible to find, but iTunes had them. My children and I party to Mickey Mouse Disco all the time. It brings back many memories for me. I also love my Disney Afternoon music (theme songs from duck tales, gummi bears, etc). As a child of the late 70's/early 80's, these are so much fun for me. I'll have to think on nonn Disney songs though. I listen to mostly country other than Disney.

I think we should do Sunday morning for the Dole Whip for Bawb picture. It might be hard to put this in the VIP schedule. There are unpredictables like lines and I'd hate to have people miss anything to make it to the Tiki Room in time. But whatever works best...I'm flexible.
