Ok, I pick Borderline by Madonna for my song.
Or Moondance by Van Morrison, but someone else already picked him, right?:confused3

I can just picture myself bee-booping back and forth to the music while sipping a cocktail and chit-chatting with all my new (and old) friends....great idea, Beth!:thumbsup2

DH & I are going on an Alaska Cruise this June. I (of course) have had it booked almost a year and have all our excursions paid for and planned out. Theresa, we are staying the first night in Vancouver and are interested in touring your fabulous city. We are staying at the Sheraton Wall (free using Starwood points) and plan on enjoying the day at Stanley Park and who knows what else. I can't wait to talk with you about our trip!:goodvibes

I picked Brown Eyed Girl, but I like the Jimmy Buffett version just as much as the Van Morrison version, so if you want Moondance to be your song, feel free!:cheer2:

Thanks.

1. I can't wait either!! :thumbsup2
2. I always fly out of Spokane, its closer. Its only 1.5 hours away.

One more vote for getting rid of that crummy WASL. I can't believe how much time they spend teaching to that thing.

OH, I love Vancouver. They also have a really fabulous conservatory at the top of a big hill. Can't remember the name, but it is world class for sure.

June in Vancouver is beautiful! It's not too hot, but should be sunny (not so much rain then!). There is a city tour on a Trolley that is great. It stops at about 20 different places (including Stanley Park) and you can buy your ticket and hop on and off any of the stops, get back on when you're ready, and see all the major attractions (Gas Town, China Town, Granville Island, etc.). I believe it even stops at the Sheraton Wall Centre (nice hotel - right by the hospital I used to work at for a long time!)

Yes - the Bloedel Conservatory in Queen Elizabeth Park. It is a beautiful park and has the conservatory there. There is also a fab restaurant called Seasons in the Park that is really good. I used to book here for a lot of continuing education evenings - very nice, and even better if someone else is paying :p

Good morning ladies!

I am soooo glad it is Friday!

So am I, except that for the next 4 wks we are working 6 days a week to get the new equipment put in. Oh well that just means more money for Disney!

The doctor called yesterday and he thinks I tore my lateral meniscus.
So I see the ortho surgeon next Thursday.

It's pretty quiet here this morning. :ssst: :tiptoe:

Beth's date night must've turned into a date morning too. Ooh, la la.....SMOKIN'!:smokin:

I hope she can get her laptop fixed.:badpc:

I don't know what that is, but it sounds painful! Oh dear, surgery?!!.....and then I imagine you'll have physical therapy for a while to get it back up to snuff. I hope you get better soon!

I'm going to check on flights for us soon.:thumbsup2

Ok it's me again. Just wanted to add that I looked at Southwest and eventhough they said that the fares were supposed to go back DOWN they went UP! GRRRR so I just talked to mom and it looks like we may fly in to OC after all. We are now looking at flying in to OC at 2 p.m. And possibly taking the 9 p.m. flight out on Sunday night. Mom wanted to take the 7:30 but that price keeps going up. So hopefully we will take the 9 cuz not only is it cheaper but it gives us more time on Sunday because of the whole 2 hour ahead and the time for the shuttle to pick us up etc etc.

So what I am thinking is when she gets back next week we will hopefully FINALLY purchase the tickets and if we take the 2 o'clock flight on Thursday we will most likely take a cab unless there is anyone else coming in to OC at that same time that wants to share a ride. Otherwise that is our plan.

And Beth I know you are out for the evening but we are up for the dole whip photo and anything else. I am just kind of overwhelmed with all the planning. I hope someone can print out an itinerary of what's happening cuz I KNOW I will forget all this stuff. But we are up for pretty much anything and everything. Mom and I have already said we don't care about rides that much cuz we go all the time and I am going again the very next month so I am happy to do whatever everyone else is doing cuz I can go on rides anytime.

Anyway just wanted to get that in cuz I don't think I had mentioned that but once we get our tickets bought for sure I will confirm that but I am pretty sure that is what we are going to do. :)

Kelly: we are going to have so much FUN! But I didn't understand your "two hours ahead" comment--aren't you in California?

My son received the gov'ns award last year, I was like whoopdedoo..
I was happy for him, but really...Its a waste of time IMO.

Thanks. It is a little painful at times. But mostly just feels like pulling & then there is this burning feeling on my shin. Luckily I sit at a desk all day so I can keep it up.

I can't wait to leave!!

I hope your ortho issues don't mess up your trip!!! :guilty: LOL--maybe you'll be on an ECV too . . .. .

Oh Cheryl what I meant was you know how you have to get to the airport two hours before your flight leaves and then I had to account for time for the shuttle to pick us up and all that. :)

And you are right. We are going to have a GREAT time. I am getting SOOO excited!!! :)

Morning ladies. Last night was pretty rough and stressful. I am so glad this week is almost over. I need a good long nap, and some time at DLR. Hopefully that will put me in a better mood.

Hope everyone has a great day!

I am SO looking forward to this trip though. I am so glad I have this place to come and read about the trip because this is the ONE place that I can come and forget about EVERYTHING else and I have this trip to look forward to and I can't wait. It is truly the one bright spot in all the crap right now LOL
:grouphug: I'm always thinking about ya Kelly! And I'm so glad we are able to be here to help cheer you up.

Ok great! I've added it to the schedule for anyone who wants to join us that time. I won't do an official sign up, if you are in the area, please stop by. :)

As for an itinerary, I would highly recommend each person print out the schedule on the front page. It's pretty complete with times and all. That's what I'm going to do.

And soon, maybe now, I'm going to start asking for cell numbers so we will all be able to get in touch with each other when needed.

Oh, I'm so jealous but I hope you'll share any tips and pics!!!

Ouch! Geez, I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope it's not too bad and something they can repair without too much hassle/pain for you. :grouphug:

:rotfl2: Sadly no, Ruben had to work this morning so I dropped him off there on the way home. But we had a nice night out..........and in. ;)
As for my laptop it is currently RIP and not sure if it can be brought back to life. :sad2:

:grouphug: Hang in there!!

Oh and before I forget, the few of you who PMed me with your song choices, I read them and added them. :thumbsup2

OK, might as well get this started so I can be sure to get everyone's name/number in time.

I am going to put together a list of cell phone numbers as a way to keep in touch while on the trip. IF you want a list of the numbers you need to PM me with your name and number. I think it's only fair if you want a list of everyone else's numbers that you include your own. :thumbsup2

I'll print them out, and hopefully make it wallet or purse sized and laminated so we can each have one to carry around the parks. This way we will never be out of touch or wondering where everyone else is.

So please PM me with your numbers, even if you did last time. I'm starting a new list. THANKS!! :)

Well, I hope you are all having a great day!! TGIF!!

I'm grateful my MIL stayed here last night so we could go out, but man, is she messy!!!!!!!!!! :faint: So I've got a kitchen to clean and some laundry to do.

Check back later. :wave2:

Oh, one more thing before I go. Anyone still going to be there on Monday morning who's interested in eating breakfast at Mimi's Cafe? I've never eaten breakfast there but I've heard it's good.

Just a thought. :confused3
